I would give a rating of less than 1, if that were possible!!! On Sunday 30-Apr, we called in and asked for a table for 5. We were never told that they dont take reservations.. when we reached at the time we said we would, they didnt have a table for us... Since it was already lunch time and we had a kid with us, we were ready to wait.. As if this werent bad enough, we were asked to wait outside the restaurant on a hot Phoenix afternoon!! And when we objected, the manager unceremoniously and unapologetically asked us to go wait outside. When we demanded an explanation for not taking our reservation, the manager very rudely stated that he is treating us like everyone else. So, I guess this shoddy treatment is meted out to everyone.. I bet the same guy would expect to be treated like royalty when he is receiving a service. So, I fail to understand how can his service be so sub-standard.. I cant rate the food because, well, we were never served any. Im never going back there, no matter how good the food is, because frankly, the service is disgusting!!

My family and I went to Haldi Indian Cuisine for dinner on a Monday blue night. The restaurant was deserted. The ambience didnt feel inviting. But then what can you expect on a Monday night, right? We ordered a lot of food - idli, dosa, chicken chettinad, and Palak Paneer with bread basket. I am a north Indian who can live on Idlis and for past 30 years I couldnt found a place where the combination of idli-sambhar is just right. The idlis should right softness and texture, good amount of flavour, and the sambhar should have right balance of sourness, lentil and vegetable ratio. Well this place did it right. For the first time I finished all three bowls of sambhar and was craving for more when hubby dear interrupted and said thats enough. You are devouring as you havent eaten in this life. Well, it was true in some sense. If you are big on South Indian food, you love the fermented rice cakes, pancakes, mouth-watering chicken dishes, then do try it once. You wont regret it. If you do, I can bet, you are not a food lover then. Cheers, Mann

I have been to the restaurant many times since it opened in March 2017. I like the food only. Ambiance is zero, it gets crowded and hot inside. There is no space to move around and one bumps into other folks and furniture. The way food is organized is absolutely not thought of. For a second serving you have to be in a queue, which moves at a snail pace. On our last visit we had a 20 mins. wait, and when we were almost done with our lunch, the guy from the counter comes and tells us to hurry up as other people were waiting. This is absolutely NOT acceptable. They should learn etiquettes and have some sort of training in customer handling. There is absolutely no smile on the faces of the cashier, servers and the staff. Even though the food is good, but with all the other issues, Haldi will be like so many other Restaurants who open and close. They have lost my business now. If you want to go for lunch buffet the best time is 11:20 AM till 12:00 Noon and then from 1 PM till the time lunch is served.

Great food but very rude. I ordered vindaloo chicken and nann and a kids mac and cheese to go for my picky 2 yr old. When I got there the guy told me that the kids meal wasnt ordered and asked if I wanted to wait 10 minutes. I said no its ok and another guy walked up maybe the manager, after the first guy proceeded to tell him part of my order wasnt there. The manager stared at me like I was stupid and said "we dont have this I already told you this". And I said oh really it was on the menu, Im sorry I didnt understand you. At this point I had already told them that was fine I didnt need it. And he asked where it was on the menu and I proceeded to show him the menu in front of me had it right under kids. He then asked if I wanted to order which I said no. He didnt even tell me the total I had to repeat back and try to remember the amount he said when I ordered which had been 37 minutes prior because it was a long drive. He was totally clueless bad communication skills. Good food. :(

This is my first time at this place. Its been a long time since I have visited any Indian restaurants in the area. Reason being the deplorable quality of food. But Haldi was a pleasant surprise. I went in after more than a couple of great responses. I really liked it. The Paw bhaji was a mood uplifter. Hot Dosa and Naan and a decent variety in a buffet. I tried tasting every single dish, to find one preparation that doesnt live up to its name. I didnt find any, but again, I was stuffed midway. Although I genuinely feel that they could do away with the chowmein and concentrate only on the Indian. I loved the koftas. The chicken butter masala was average. The Biriyani was better than most places in Phoenix. And towards the end, I feel they could really improve on their dessert menus. That was clearly a lazy ensemble. Overall its worth the amount and wont disappoint.

After my horrible experience at mantra, I was hesitant to try out a new indian restaurant. But my wife heard many good things and we reached at 12 on mothers day .The servers were not ready. The manager was a bit rude, a bit confused or maybe he was just panicking as he was rushing against time. But once everything was set, we tried the food. I am giving 5 stars inspite of the service issues, as the food was awesome. Not many chinese items but chicken, goat, shrimp, fish, gobi manchurian, pav bhaji, mango cocktail, tandoori chicken everything was awesome. They could make better masala dosa and maybe add samosa but every single dish was worth the money dished out. The dessert spread was also lavish. They should move to a bigger space

This place is amazing. You get different different dishes from India. I see good balance of North Indian - south Indian dishes here. Food taste, quality is good. I ate the most amazing Gulab Jamun in Phoenix, (sweet dish) only here. Service is good. They serve pan hot Dosa at the tables, delicious. Come early or later. 12-1pm it gets very much crowded (its very famous amongst Indian population, plus many IT companies around so healthy number of American friends as well can be seen). Overall for the price food and service is great. Five

Not so good Experience , The Management is bad and horrible , Loud / Noisy place with limited space ..The Management would ask you to wait to get seated and you need tp keep following and reminding them,. I tried buffet here , the food was Ok .but I didnt get indian breads and dosas . I thought its not on menu , but later came to know that they serve it on table but i didnt find anyone taking care of it , lack of mismanagement and ill treatment. they are dont treat customer fairly. Food is ok here. But this place is priced too high for the buffet. For kids ages from 4 to 9 they are charging 7.99 which is higher than the other restaurants and for adults it is 15.99. Our kid who has just turned 4 and wont eat any indian food . He didnt eat even 1 Roti. Still they have charged 7.99. We have explained that he didnt eat, that manager was not ready to reduce it. Also there is no place to wait inside and you have to wait under the hot sun.
