I love reading reviews. Many times they crack me up. Especially when Ive already been there and can compare whats written to what I experienced. Had we not seen the star rating (and a nieces encouragement whod eaten here before), we might have slunk out when we walked in! First of all, lets talk about the ambiance. Someone mentioned its lack. Its true! When you walk in the door, you will wonder if youve meandered into a cafeteria on a tiny college somewhere in Wisconsin! But just like Wisconsin, you will be greeted in the most friendly fashion! Dont let the red-checkered, plastic tablecloths deter you! Ignore the open floor plan where you are privy to the soda machines (that the waitress will happily use to refill your drinks), the comings and goings of the wait staff and the occasion appearance of the cooking crew from a corner door! Just stop and sniff. Oh yes! That right there is the sweet, sweet smell of garlic! And all manner of deliciousness that is about to grace your humble little table! Heres another warning. The salads arent anything to write home about. Generic lettuce with a couple slices of Roma tomatoes, cucumbers and non-descript croutons along with okay salad dressing. I wouldnt recommend making a meal of it. My sister did, but supplemented with bites from others dishes here and there. We did order some of the fried zucchini and it set the tone for the rest of the food! It was lightly breaded – not soggy – and the zucchini was perfectly cooked! Not wilted or over cooked, not crispy and undercooked! As Goldilocks would say, “Juuuuuuuust right!” But wait! There’s more! The real treat comes when they bring the dish to the table! Upon my nieces recommendation I added fresh spinach to my Chefs Favorite at the end of cooking. It really was one of the prettiest dishes Ive had set in front of me at an eating establishment! Feast for the eyes! The Chefs Favorite is made with bowtie pasta with all sorts of veggies finished with Parmesan cheese. You can add chicken or shrimp; being veg I didnt. In any other Italian restaurant there would be a preponderance of pasta and only accents of veggies. This dish had plenty of pasta bits, but oodles and oodles of cooked onions, mushrooms, red peppers and whole garlic cloves (true to its name)! I like a little sauce so ordered the garlic cream sauce on the side to supplement. Im glad I did as it added a little flavor. The sauce is basically their cream/alfredo sauce mixed to their chunky marinara, but unlike many places it is more marinara than cream. I like it that way, but if you dont just be aware. My niece ordered the Messina which is basically the same dish as me except oozing with cheese (ricotta, cream cheese and covered in the cream sauce). I tasted it and was, in the exact same moment, very thankful (hello, calories) and very sad (good bye taste) that I hadn’t chosen that dish! The niece on my other side ordered the white lasagna, a special, and also vegetarian. My taste buds exploded when I tasted that dish too! Let’s recap: ambiance, nope. Amazing salads, nope! Best recommendations? Bring a group of your best friends or family, assuming they make you happy, and enjoy some of the best Italian food you’ll ever have the pleasure of sampling!

We had a party of 6 and 4 of of the meals were cold or poorly done. Alfredo was pasty and too much for the portion (more does not make it better). Meatballs, though homemade, were cold in the sauce, and the pasta was fridge-cold (not even slightly warm). When the owner came out to check on us, we returned 2 of the dishes and she confirmed that her husband in the kitchen said some food was held at temperatures below compliance and shed have our dishes re-made. Even after all that (and receiving our breadsticks after the entrees), there was no discount on the bill and we still paid almost $50 for a very poor experience.

The worst food Ive ever had! We waited very long for the appetizer and it came at the same time with the main course. The bread was wet and garlic sauce was just salsa sauce. The drinks didnt come but that was just the beginning. I ordered Pasta with vegetables, cheese and Alfredo sauce and it was: cheese cheese and cheese with some noodles. I eat everything but you couldnt eat this. My boyfriend ordered Chicken with Pasta but there was no Chicken. Even the salad was not eatable! The tomatoe was green...the dressing was everything but not Italian dressing..All in all: DO NOT EAT THERE!

THE GARBAGE CLOVE I went here for lunch and it took them 15 minutes just to take my order. There was like 10 people in the whole place. It took another 30 minutes to serve the food. The food tasted like dog barf - cooked way too long and at too high of a temperature. The chicken was certainly not fresh and only two pieces of nasty broccoli in the dish. What a joke. The staff are very arrogant and narcissistic. They act as if they are on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. This place is very dysfunctional. AVOID

The Garlic Clove, family owned and operated, is by far one of the best restaurants in Kingman! Excellent food, moderately priced. It is located in beautiful Historic downtown Kingman, the ambience set with the beautiful Decor inside and out. The outstanding food and a knowledgeable and friendly staff makes for an experience you dont want to miss. The Garlic Clove also offers catering and a room for special occasions. The Garlic Clove, the place to be.

My family and i ordered a few things from their menu and the vast majority of the stuff was DISGUSTING! Their pizza sauce is super gross because it had a bizarre flavor that was slightly sweet and stale. I tried their crab stuffed mushrooms and the first one was interesting but as i ate a couple more, i felt nauseous. The chicken parmesan sandwich was halfway decent but small. We ended up feeling ill from the bits of food we did eat.

Of course its cold outside, however, if a customer asks for a different table to avoid the wind that bows on the table they are currently at every time the door opens, shouldnt they just be moved? I have eaten at this restaurant many times and have e enjoyed my meal and service, tonight was the exception. Our server was Extremely rude. Im sorry for the owner, they lost about a $150.00 ticket because we were treated so rudely.
