OBJECTIVE REVIEW - TL;DR = Bad enough to avoid. I have been to the Pearl twice now. Both times the service was decent. The inside is what you would expect of a typical Chinese restaurant. The staff is friendly to a degree. Each time there was a few tense moments as I was scanning the menu and asking questions on how they prepare the food. I tasted a few of their items but not all. The Food; Mongolian Beef - Shredded beef, not sliced and mixed in a garlic sauce. It was subpar but overall it was ok and edible. Sweet and Sour Shrimp - Horrid! for 8.95 I want fried shrimp but instead I received twice fried batter with string bean size piece of shrimp. Fried Rice - Typical fried rice. I could taste the old pans they were cooked in. The metalic taste added to the blandness of the rice. The good thing about this is I found my shrimp they were supposed to use for the sweet and sour shrimp. Egg roll - Store bought and frozen eggroll. No freshness about this but they were at least hot. Overall this place was not the worst Chinese restaurant Ive eaten at but definitely hits some of my all time lows in quality of food. 1 star for a decent atmosphere and great location 1 star for the staff Maybe eat pizza tonight?

My wife and I have been going for years - the staff always remembers us and our preferences even though we arent there on a weekly basis. Not sure what the others are complaining about for price - the portions are generous to the point my wife and I normally share a dish. If we get separate dishes, we have plenty of leftovers so the prices are, in our opinion, spot on. We try a new dish almost every time and havent been disappointed. The vegetables are crisp (unlike other places that taste like the come from a can) and the meat is tender. Weve recommended the place to a number of friends and they have all become regulars.

My husband & I have been ordering from here for years... the guy that delivers (I cant remember his name, oops!) is sooo nice & friendly. Add super amazing food to that and this is one excellent little chinese place. The inside of it is nothing fancy, which is usually why we just have it delivered. But weve been to so many nice looking places, that have crappy service & food, appearance is just not important to us anymore. Its kinda pricey, but you totally get your moneys worth, and we always have leftovers.

We go here often because the food is really good and the staff/owners are really nice. I think by the 3rd time we went they remembered us and our drink orders and that we want eggrolls (which are amazing) and eggdrop soup. The place is always clean which, obviously, is good but not alway the case in mom and pop restaurants. We have taken a couple friends there and they have become regulars as well. Just a good place to eat.

Step BELOW Mediocre. Very TASTELESS!! Delivery guy very rude while lecturing me about coming all the way out here to deliver. I talked to the owner and she agreed to deliver out here. What the heck! Get your stuff straight before you tell me "If you like this food, you will need to drive and pick it up yourself next time". VERY RUDE! Needless to say, you will not be getting my business again. Worst way I spent $40 EVER!!!

Our family has been getting takeout from this place for around 7 years, and no other place has been able to top it. Everything we have tried has been the best weve had. The kungpao is spicy as it should be, the cream cheese rangoons are perfectly crispy and the friend rice (although in most places is ignored), china pearl has absolutely the best, hands down.

If you have grown accustomed to east coast chinese food, Arizona will leave you routinely disappointed and China Pearl is no exception. Started with Hot and Soy Sause Soup (yes you read right), followed by General Tsos Fried Batter Balls with a hint of chicken accompanied by Soy Sause Fried Rice instead of Pork Fried Rice. Very dissapointing.... Steer Clear

China Pearl is one of those places that Ive been going to for 10+ years that has never disappointed me. The food is great, especially their fried rice which is the best I have ever tried (and Ive tried a lot). Getting China Pearl is a special treat I look forward to. The service is always great, and the owners will remember your face and your favorites.

We just ate there. The chicken and Broccoli was excellent! We also ordered the shrimp and broccoli and another dish. Our total bill was 45.00 for a family of 4! We could have ate at a much nicer restaurant for that price. We may try it again but go a different route as for as ordering our meals to lower the cost.

Ive been there twice for dinner and lunch both times the food was grose and practically unedible if you like quality food. This last time the dinner portion was so small it was not with the $10. I could have gone to Panda Express across the street for better quality food, less expensive and more portion.

We order from here often, and every dish weve tried has been wonderful. Fresh tasting and plenty with regards to servings. The staff is friendly and remember us every time were there. They make exceptions and changes if asked, and are sure to follow up were satisfied. Dont go anywhere else! :)

I love China Pearl! Ive been eating there since 2005 when they actually had a different owner. They have all the standard American Chinese dishes and theyre really friendly. Theyve got a few tables and booths and good service if youd like to dine in or their delivery is always pretty quick.

China Pearl is our favorite place to eat Chinese in the Mesa / Gilbert area. The service is always friendly and very fast - and if you dont see something on the menu its easy just to ask. Its not too fancy, but the price is right and the food has always been excellent.

Its okay Asian cuisine, dont expect a very large meal and be prepared to pay a little extra on everything. Probably better options in the area, but at least they are courteous and they dont steal money from you, Im looking at you Green Tea on Southern and Greenfield.

Every area should have a little Chinese restaurant like China Pearl. The owners are friendly and always remember my husbands order, even though he only orders about once a month. The food is usually prepared very quickly; I have never used their delivery.

Would have liked to have tried it, but was turned down on delivery to my house only 5 miles away. Was asked if I could pick it up. If I could have, I wouldnt have called out for delivery in the first place. FAIL

I love this place because its a small mom and pop restaurant. They are always nice and make you feel like a friend and not a number. Please give them a chance and you wont be disappointed.
