I love indian food. I usually go to the one on park st because it is usually where i go after i come back from work. A few days ago I was in Middleton for a meeting and i thought i would get this restaurant a try. Saw somewhat good reviews on it. I order off the phone and right away i was disrespected by a guy asking me to shut up and listen to him. so i listened till i could place an order. When i went there to pick up my order I told one of the people helping me how i was disrespected while ordering my food. I was told that they do this sometimes to see if this isnt a prank caller. Any ways when i got home to eat the food It was all watered down and tasted like nothing. No taste at all. The chicken was not cooked at all and the rice were hard. I looked at the Nan and some of it was burned black and other parts of the nan was barley cooked. if anyone is wanting to get Amazing Indian food i Recommend everyone to go to taj because i hear alot fo good things and you know what it is good. Also Taj is sometimes open late if you ask them. I came to pick my food up at 10:15 and they took my order! Now you can choose for you self and see. I liked Dhaba even more than this place even though i gave that a 1 star

Went for lunch buffet on a Saturday afternoon and it was great! Never had such good service at a buffet, and the variety of food was wonderful. It was nice to be able to try so many things, especially for my husband, who is very...particular about his food, and unfamiliar with Indian food in general. To be able to see the food and choose from so many options was invaluable. Not to mention how tasty most of the dishes were. Some things were too spicy for me, but I enjoy being challenged, and the food itself was good. And I didnt get to try everything I wanted, even though I had two whole platefuls (and dessert!). There were LOTS of vegetarian options, which is the most wonderful part of Indian food ☺️ When we first arrived and got our food, most things were room temperature/cold even. But we didnt know any better so we got it anyway. But by the time we were getting our seconds, everything has been replenished, and the hot food was much, much better (obviously). So next time we go, well know to make sure things are hot before we get food. Maybe after we come back for lunch again well know enough of our favorites to come back and try dinner.

I used to come here often but today will be my last time. My friend and I arrived at 2:15 for the lunch buffet. Around 2:50 we are given a lecture by the waiter that the buffet is ending and we have to grab dessert, then a minute later the manager comes by and demands payment, he assured us there wasnt a rush. 3:05 rolls around, we are about to leave and the manager gives us a lecture because we are being inconsiderate for staying past three. Actually he was flat out rude. Im sorry but if your intent is to clear the place at three maybe you should stop serving food much earlier. The quality of food has also been going down as of recent, the goat curry had obviously been reheated the past few days. With other options like Om(my new favorites), Maharani, and Maharani, theres no need to go here anymore. My friend and I were very polite with the staff, if theyre going to charge a fortune for sub par food they should at least be a bit more hospitable and polite in return.

The service was on the edge of pathetic, and I believe we had one of their veteran servers - if they have any. We waited over ten mintutes fr a drink order and placed our appetizer order at the same time. The appetizer came out quickly but it was incorrect and the only apology we got was from the manager/owner when we paid the bill. He did discount the bill because of the mistake, but I feel it should have been comped completely because the error could have been fixed if the server had been willing to check on us before ten minutes after receiving the wrong app (we just decided to dig in because we were hungry - and it was good albeit incorrect). The rest of the meal was delicious and that is the ONLY reason I am not giving Swagat a horrible rating. I may use them for carry out if anything in the future. If the owner cares at all about his business, he will replace his front of the house staff and get some people who want to please guests.

Wonderful Far West Side Curry! They have a buffet during earlier hours, but I went there for dinner. We were greeted when we walked in and immediately shown to a table. The Sun was setting behind the wooden window blinds and added a Golden Glow to the yellow ochre color scheme. The menus were clear with descriptions of all of the dishes provided. They had a list of specials of the day that were not listed in the menu and the wait staff readily described what was in the dishes. Drinks arrived promptly and the food was served in a timely manner. More than one of the staff stopped to ask how everything was as well as to ask if there was anything they could get for us. Everything was delicious. Service could not have been better. I look forward to returning for lunches and dinners. I highly recommend Swagat on Madison, Wisconsins West side, at the corner of Highpoint and Old Sauk road. Swagat means Welcome. I say Thank You, Dhanyavaad!

I go to the lunch buffet. Theres a good number of chicken dishes to choose from. I am addicted to their chicken tikka masala. Its just so rich and wonderful. The chili chicken is very tasty too. Kind of reminds me of something youd find at a chinese takeout place. I like that they serve fish. Cant tell what type it is, except that its a white fish. Its always tender and has the right amount of saltiness. During the lunch buffet, the servers dont do much besides refill your drink, but thats fine for that kind of serve yourself lunch setting. Id love it if the price were a few dollars cheaper -its about $10 for the lunch buffet- but Im always very happy with the food.

Worst experience ever. Came there with a family member at 2:30. We had 3 children with us and a teenager. Before we could sit down they told us they stop serving at 3 and we need to hurry. Before we could sit down with our first plate of food they brought the check. When looking around there were many people sitting and eating that were not being rushed. I have never been so insulted. My sister has been asked to take down her review of our experience. I know that they also dont give there employees any tips and they pay slave wages. They also write their own reviews and are not to be trusted. Save your money and go somewhere they hire legal workers.

Food was above average in terms of an Indian buffet. The service however was appalling. We came in for lunch with our family of 4 kids. The servers constantly whispered while staring at our kids and even ran up to our table to snatch a cup away from my 5 year old. There are much more professional ways they could have addressed concerns about kids and glassware. We were never offered any drinks other than water, and on top of that, our drinks were refilled only after we were already done with 2+ plates. The servers showed professionalism and good service to other patrons, so it was surprising to see how differently they treated our family.
