Perverted restaurant, I went in there with my date and the staff kept looking at us as if we were from a different planet, everybody kept coming in from the kitchen and kept giving my date weird looks, as if the host was going inside and tell the staff to come outside and check us out. We spent about half hour there and all that time, we were looked at, we decided to have our ordered food to go as we didnt even wanted to spend a single minute after our experience So if you plan to take a date there, Dont even think about it ! ! This restaurant is FULL of perverts, and coming to food, it was all blend with tomato sauce in pretty much everything we ordered. So bottom line if If u want a nice dinner with a beautiful woman...please dont go here...rather go across the street to subway but stay away from this place.

We love the Monroe St area, and so had our fingers crossed that Taste of India would be good enough to revisit. We were quite pleased with our meal, even though we compare all curry to what weve had in the UK. They have peshwari naan, an item I dont find often in the US. They also have a few of our other favorites like Maharaja beer, and onion bhaji. The chicken tikka masala had some of the creamiest, most well balanced flavors weve had. The saag paneer was also creamy and great. The seekh kabob was good, but not quite as good as it could have been. Overall the meal was very good, the service was adequate (slightly long wait to get our drinks ordered in the beginning), and well definitely go back...

Its ok, but far from authentic. Quick note upfront: coming from Europe with a huge Indian population over there and a lot of authentic restaurants makes me rather a critical connoisseur. I LOVE authentic Indian food. So here they didnt have salty lassi drink, which is a must in an Indian restaurant. The mango lassi tasted like smoothy and was covered with whipped cream and a cherry on top - like an American fastfood milkshake. The sauces (curries) were lacking strong Indian spices and tasted more Italian than Indian. Meat (lamb and beef) were tender and cooked very well. Overall: great place to just eat, but not a place to eat real Indian food.

The food was pretty good Indian food; however, our waiter did not provide good service. He rolled his eyes every time we asked for something. He ignored us for quite some time after pouring our water, and some of us wanted to order a beverage. But the worst part was that he reprimanded me as we were leaving. I had made reservations for eight yet only seven of us showed up. He said something like, "Its a problem for us when people dont keep their reservations, you need to tell me exactly how many people are coming."

Convenient location, stumbled in it by accident. There for Sunday lunch. They only offered the buffet, which was exactly what I wanted. Reasonably priced for what you got. No problems with the service. Ordered a mango lassi to share, good but didnt need the whipped cream on top. Food was generally very good. Naan was too dry. Had the expected items, a lot of solid chicken dishes. Not the best Indian food in Madison, but I would eat here again.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant last night. Everything was incredible. Our service was fantastic, the ambiance was welcoming but elegant, and the dishes were second to none; the vegetable marlsala comes highly recommended! Plus, when the weather is nice, you can go for an after dinner stroll at Wingra park and enjoy the beautiful lake and views of the arboretum. I cant wait to go back!

I been going to this restaurant for the past couple of years now and I can say it is the best indian food that I have ever had. Ive gone to other indian restaurants and not compare to the quality of the food and the customer service that is provided.

Taste of India offers a wide selection of Indian dishes, which they will make to your specifications. The naan is always warm and cooked to perfection. The service has always been attentive and timely. We frequent Taste of India often.

Completely...okay. Always found the flavors here to be very watered down -- Indian for an American palate. If youre close by and craving Indian its an option, but theres much better Indian places in Madison.

Food preparation was decent. However buffet menu was relatively limited. One dish (dal paneer) was invented by the chef and tasted horrible. Also the quality of service was bad if you looked like an Indian.

One of my favorites for great Indian food in Madison. Try the Peshwari Naan for something different. Curries are excellent and they are careful to ask what level of spice you want.

The launch buffet os always amazing. Also if you want it a little bit spicier you cam order off of the menu. Everytime I make it to Madison I always stop in for a bite to eat.

Best Indian food in town. Many options, and they always rotate dishes so the same dishes arnt always there. Staff are very friendly, this is must-go when youre in Madison.

Pleasant. Add a side of cooked vegetables( onions, broccoli, tomatoes and peppers to add to the rice and sauce--and some naan. Perfection. The lamb marsala was delicious.

Awesome curry and reasonable prices. Not the most fancy of places, but if you want somewhere casual to go with family or friends for curry this is a great place to do it.

Absolutely great food, and the buffet is very reasonably priced. My family was paasing through town on a trip, and we were not expecting such an amazing experience.

Flavorless food! Very American food with green peppers (which Indians dont use) and tomatoes on every dish. I can cook curry better and Im american.

The weekend lunch buffet is more affordable than the other Indian restaurants. Food is quite flavorful. Fewer items than the other buffet options.

Fantastic buffet options and some amazing naan. The spicy food, however, was lacking. All dishes were safe to eat.
