This was my first time ever coming to El Beso. I had heard wonderful things about it, but I will never go back there again. I have worked in the restaurant industry, have been a manager in retail, and work with people every day, so I have only asked to talk to a manager up to this point for praising their employees. Their food was good, and their bar staff was good, but their management was completely incompetent in handling a group of people at the bar who were cussing and so loud that my friend and I literally lost our train of thought in conversation. We complained to the bartenders, another couple behind us complained, and several other couples were visibly annoyed by the group. One of the bartenders tried to ask them to keep it down and he commented to us that he was quite annoyed by the group as well. I commented that it was a good thing that I was not a mystery shopper, because they wouldnt have gotten a positive review. Two of the bartenders told me to complain to the manager because she wouldnt listen to them. I did, and she told me that there wasnt anything more that she could do besides talk to them (which she did, once) and cut them off (which she did after they ordered another pitcher of margaritas). Even after talking to them they continued to cuss and started shouting that they wanted to know who was complaining about them. Needless to say, they did not improve at all, and the manager did nothing to further try to prevent this scene. I told her that she could have asked them to leave, and that she was just giving excuses. Although the food was good and bartenders were good, I will not return someplace that I know has incompetent people working as managers.

We wont be back. El Beso used to be a nice place to go to enjoy good Mexican food, though it was a little pricey. Since theyve changed their menu and their prices (higher), its not even worth going to. It was a Sunday at 6:30 and the restaurant was nearly empty (when it used to be packed at that day/time), so Im guessing other people have noticed the difference and are refraining from returning as well. Theyve taken some of their best items off the menu, replaced them with items that are cheaper to make, and raised the prices higher than they were before. Additionally, they nickel and dime you everywhere. For example, we were charged for sour cream that came on the side of my tacos; I didnt order sour cream, nor did I eat it, but I paid for it (and for the record the menu did not say it came with it). Our service was mediocre as well. My drink sat empty for probably 10 minutes before the waitress came by and refilled it, and it wasnt even busy. There were three tables with people in our section out of about 20 tables. If Im paying the higher prices, the service should have matched. The food is still good, but only go there if youre willing to overpay. Again, we wont be back

My mom took me and my kids for my birthday. It was my choice out of three places and I ended up disappointed. First off, the service was good. Our sever did a great job and I have nothing but positives to say there. The food, however, was bland and flavorless. The beef was unseasoned. My sons nachos, minus jalapeños was devoid of taste. Hes an adventurous eater and was visibly disappointed. My other son had a veggie burrito and it was so soaked with moisture that it literally fell apart and swam in its own juices on the plate; soaking his beans and floating his rice. My mother, ordered the combination #1. The tamale was bone dry and crumbling at the touch of a fork. It appeared that the dish had sat under a heat lamp for some time before making it to the plate. She also suffered the unseasoned beef in her chimi. She was so excited for her meal prior.. My meal was equally as unimpressive. Dry, bland and flavorless. I liked this place... I was looking forward to going again. Im not anymore. Im not sure Ill be back. Maybe... it wont be on my list of must haves. So disappointed.

Went to have a wonderful dinner with my friends Saturday and catch up on old times. We closed out the section we were eating in around 8:50pm and left. 10 minutes later I realized I forgot my scarf sitting in the corner booth. I call them quickly to explain what happened. Destiny has ZERO sense of urgency and said she will call me back but NEVER did. I assured her it was only 10 mins and our section was closed so no customers would be walking in the back corner of the restaurant. We finally went back and the staff did not care nor went and asked anyone about the scarf. It was a horrible experience. I am convinced that my scarf was taken by a staff member. I will never be eating at El Besos again and am telling all my friends. Make sure to watch your personal belongings when eating here.

The food here is expensive. That being said, this place is high class for Hispanic/Mexican food. The portions are very generous, youll leave full for what you pay. The taste was some of the best Ive had from anywhere. The waiter we had was attentive, friendly and professional. The food was made quickly, but with quality ingredients and attractively placed. The atmosphere in the restaurant was awesome. Traditional music playing over the speakers, colorful and ample lighting, beautiful murals on all the walls. We didnt have the opportunity to try out the bar, but overall dining here was a great experience. My one and a half year old daughter loved the horchata!

Service was great. I ordered a frozen flavored margarita and all I could taste was alcohol. I couldnt even finish half of it, it was that strong. My boyfriend ordered a steak and he said it was ok but not worth the price for how much he got. I ordered the chicken taco salad, very simple easy dish. It was brought out and it was huge, I started eating and saw the half the bowl was filled with this shredded chicken that had no taste, very little lettuce, and even less beans. The Pico that was brought out wasnt Pico at all it was salsa. I was not impressed I would much rather go to an actual mexican restaurant you pay less and get more better tasting food.

I used to be a big fan of this place when they first opened, but not anymore. They have good food and good drinks but the service is TERRIBLE. Probably because its too busy for its own good. Moreover, their popularity has seemed to fuel their GREED. We went there for my Mothers 50th birthday and they would not sing happy birthday without charging us $5 to sing. When we ordered regular margaritas they brought the premium version, which is $4 more. It just seemed that they were trying to add on additional charges at every turn. I will no longer go here or El Fuego on 9th and Layton (same ownership).

Horrible service. Went out for happy hour on Memorial weekend. Ordered 3 mango margaritas and those were good. Waitress came back and ordered our food and we ordered more margaritas. I ordered wings all flats and got flats and drums, other two orders were cheese quesadillas and they got chicken quesadillas. Told the waitress I already ordered margaritas when she asked if we wanted a refill. Got the bill and margaritas she gave us late were not happy hour priced because she got them too late. Paid $50 for 4 $3.50 margaritas and 3 $5 apps. Should have been $30 got ripped off
