Used a Groupon tonight (Friday) and decided to try a new place. We were seated immediately as the place was pretty empty. Alas, the food was not good. I had the shrimp and rice which came with an over dressed salad and fried plantains. The rice was somewhat flavorful, but the shrimp had almost no taste...seemingly just defrosted and hastily cooked. I had ordered a crab patty for an appetizer, but after 12 or so minutes I was told that - " sorry we have no crab for the patty" So I decided to forgo my own appetizer and shared my daughters beef empanada. The filling was bland and did not taste fresh. The crust was crispy and hot though - the only redeeming factor. My daughter ordered A Cuban sandwich, but after waiting another 10 mins, we were told they had no bread for the sandwich? WTF????. She switched her order to the chicken breast with rice and beans and french fries. The breast was overcooked , very dry and flavorless. The fries tasted like previously frozen fries that had been fried in "not fresh" oil. At 8:15 pm the place was virtually empty, yet it took over 50 minutes of waiting to get the food! The staff was friendly but there was a serious language barrier. The long wait time rendered my coffee cold and awful, so I asked for some hot water to top it off. Over the next 10 minutes the waitress brought me a glass of ice water, a glass of lukewarm water, and then finally hot water in a wine glass??!! At the end of the night i just wanted to get out of there. Very disappointing. They include gratuity on the bill- about 15%. The pleasant staff earned it... the food and protracted wait time sure didnt...

My husband and I were very excited about visiting this restaurant, today we were in the area at noon. We arrived and there was only one additional table with patrons. We ordered two Presidentes that were perfect! And a Quipe that was pretty good. We ordered the special, chivo, and we were told that it was still been cooked. The sancocho was also been prepared. I asked for Pescado con coco and arroz con guanduales and was told they had white rice only. I ended up ordering a bistec encebollado with white rice and red beans and my husband had the mofongo with shrimp. He wanted the mofongo with chicken and the white sauce but we were told it couldnt be done... So shrimp it was. The order took 40 mins and we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Food was average, nothing to brag or go back for. I asked for the WI-FI password and the waitress didnt know what it was, she said she would check and get back to me, she never did. To finish, we were automatically charged a 15% tip for a party of two, without notice, what a shame because we normally tip 20... Needless to say, I will not be returning...

When this restaurant first opened we had a great experience...I cannot say that anymore. We ordered two orders of Mofongo with pork and a steak.... took about 1 hour to get it on our table(minus the steak which took an extra half hour)..I cut into my pork and what a surprise to find it RAW!! I tried to get the waitress attention to no avail... she would just keep wandering in and out of the kitchen, finally after waiting for 14minutes did she come and I told her she just said put it on this plate, I did and proceeded to ask for a water..What a mistake that was the water took me 4 times of reminding her about it.. the pork came back extremely greasy and hard as a rock..and to top it all of 18% gratuity included?? of course they dont care about the service they provide to you they are already getting a tip...as if this was South Beach or Fort Lauderdale,, not really a "tourist" destination if I were to be asked... HORRIBLE!!! avoid this location if youd like Dominican food at a great service Id try Punta Cana on Taft and douglas..

I been to putitas around 5 times, I wouldnt recommended this place to anyone. My reasons are simple; I always order a large picadera, everytime they charge a different price, meaning their prices are not stable. Theres always this lady behind the counter very nasty attitude... not to stay out of subject, please keep your price stable. No body want to seat in a restaurant where you feel the waitress is hustling you. My second time there the waitress gave me a price and then the owner arrive to my table to give me a higher price... at the end the waitress came up to me and told me she charged me for the right price and not to worry about anything.. Ill never go back to this place, by the way God bless your restaurant and I hope the waitress who name I refuge to mention obtain a better job where she will be allowed to be honest.

They were preparing for a party decorating, I was the only customer awkward feeling when I walked in I had to ask twice if they were opened and serving. I sat down on an available table asked for an appetizer I was told they didnt have what I wanted so changed my choice and was brought the wrong appetizer at this point no apologies just a oh they made a mistake. I order my food and again they did not have what I wanted so once more I changed my choice, right appetizer reached the table when I was done with my main dish no one checked during the meal if i was ok needed water or anything everyone was too busy decorating i didnt feel that Latin comfy feeling i get at Latin restaurants. I felt more like a bother to my surprise check came quick process was fast to get me out. Food it was ok, come back probably not.

Buenas noches.hoy estuve en El local. Per pude observation q lacomida demora mucho.y sobre Todo q no cuenta con extinguidores .tambien pude observar., Que la Cocina estas en mal estado .sartenes sucias sobre El suelo.y ollas llena de grasa y suciedad.deberia de ser cerrado por El departamento de salud publica.

We just left Puritas watching the Dominican and USA game. We arrived and they sat us right away. However we waited 2 and a half hours for our food to arrive. They brought out the food one plate at a time, super slow. I ordered fish, rice and beans. By the time the food came I was no longer hungry, the fish was ridiculously salty, beans were bland and the rice was undercooked. We asked for a split check, they brought one bill and proceeded to refuse to split the check. Needless to say I would not return to Puritas. Which is very unfortunate. The ambiance was good but the service and food was Not.

Service here was poor. The waitress took forever to bring out our waters and was plucking her eyebrows behind the bar. Which is gross! Then the food took nearly an hour to arrive. One of our meals didnt finally come out until everyone at the table was finished eating. I ordered Chicharrones de Pollo with Moro and Tostones. The food tasted very good and that is why I wont give a one star rating. I wish I could have given this place a better review :(

Excelentes atenciones y comida hispana en general, lo recomiendo para pasar además momentos muy agradables con buena música en vivo, me encanta su sancocho dominicano, super!
