Needed a place to study for a few hours. Positives: Very friendly staff, and high quality beverages (my chai was great, not too sweet) and snacks. Was able to hang out for several hours and not feel like I was invading. My tablet was having a hard time getting online, so I asked the staff to reset the router. There was obviously some frustration with technology, but eventually I was able to get online with a decent connection. Negatives: Its a little hole in the wall, reformed industrial type building. I would really like couches, with tables more accessible for holding books and papers while reading things. A little on the expensive side, but perfectly reasonable for the quality offered. Was also just coffee and scones; I didnt see anything I would consider "food." I would come back here to study. Not the most comfortable, but quality food and friendly service goes a really long ways.

Its been many years since Ive been to Compass, and Ive been told I should give it another shot, but the reason I have not returned is thus; I came in with my young children. The owner himself looked at them, & treated them, like they were inferior. They (and the baby maker) were completely unwelcome. As if they were spawn of Chuck E. Cheese & needed Legos & would run wild putting finger prints everywhere, making noise (& thus disrupting the childless couples Scrabble game), & spilling coffees. Doesnt he know that it is parents who wish they could sleep in that truly need coffee? And that my kids enjoy a quiet game of Scrabble? If it is hipsters & childless customers he wants, hes doing a good job. P.S. It is childless friends who have said I should give another go.

I am in the coffee business and have been for over 20 years. Yes, the coffee quality is exceptional. I tried to "talk shop" with the owner... I will say say this as nicely as I can - it did not go well. For that reason alone I would not go back. Beyond that, it was one of the messiest and most chaotic places of business I have ever seen. I am not sure how they pass their health inspections. At any rate, no matter how good the coffee beans are there, I will never return. The barista was kind and the drink was very good... that is why I am giving this 2 stars and not 1.

This is probably the best coffee anywhere In Vancouver. Its definitely the best tasting coffee and there are many different ways for them to brew the coffee. Sweet drinks here are pretty good but their specialty is straight coffee with no sugary ingredients. The aroma is even smelled after pulling into the parking lot. Coffee is brewed perfectly, which means a lower acid content in every cup. I have never tasted coffee so good.

If I could rate it 10 stars I would, these are the best coffee beans I have ever had. Not sure what the other people are talking about, the owner was very friendly and happy to talk about coffee with me and other customers. and the shop is a bit messy, but it is very much in the totally appropriate range of intentionally creating a cozy, quaint atmosphere.

If you are in Vancouver there are 3 places that craft coffee well. Compass is the best. They use a beautiful Synesso to pull their shots, offer two blends and a rotating single origin espresso. They roast their own coffee here that is available as well as an assortment of home coffee supplies.

First 10 seconds in the door the owner asked what my wife and I would like and my wife answered Im not sure yet the owner then proceded to roll his eyes and say ok then. If it wasnt for the reputation of the beans we would have walked out. Guess he doesnt like customers.

Great place to buy beans and get a good espresso drink with homemade treat. I would like to see them offer a customer loyalty tracking card for drinks and/or beans. Buy 10, 1 free or if i buy 2 bags of beans then maybe free treat or drink.

Best coffee in Clark County. Expert roasters who take pride in their work. The coffee by the bag is expensive, but worth it. I like "Handlebar" the best. Its a nice treat.

Great place to go. Both locations are excellent. Coffee is above and beyond anything in Clark County. Cant wait for the summer months to enjoy the cold brew again.

Its a hidden gem in this part of Vancouver. This is where they do all their roasting, and they do a phenomenal job. Delerium roast is apparently the one to get

Owner is not the friendliest, but he makes Great coffee and employees great and nice people. They also offer gluten free treats to go with your coffee

Coffee was good but the place was very dirty inside and out. The waiter was very rude. I was very surprised that he told me he was the owner.

Espresso stands are everywhere but the attention to pull a shot well is a bit harder to come by. Credit where credit is due.
