This sushi bar has great prices and great quality sashimi and easily one of my favorite additions to the neighborhood. They offer an "all night" happy hour, which is just a nice way of saying that their usual everyday menu is slightly smaller than your typical sushi bar and the prices of whats on the menu is more in line with happy hour prices. Their menu includes well priced sets of sashimi or nigiri sushi, a small variety of special rolls, and dishes from the kitchen including japanese favorites such as chicken karaage and takoyaki. I routinely get both the agedashi tofu and takoyaki which are both delicious. They recently started offering chefs specials also, which include specials from the kitchen (such as grilled shishito peppers) and larger special rolls. The combination of quality and price is hard to beat, so there can sometimes be a crowd. Expect a short wait for a table on Friday and Saturday nights. I usually sit at the bar which has a couple of seats available much of the time. Speaking of which, warm or cold sake, draft beer, and nice cocktails.

Holy awesome. I live in Northgate and we wanted to try to find a not conveyor sushi place. I saw the pics on Google Maps, and thought it looked expensive from the pics. When we got there it was happy hour, so ithat was a little cheaper than usual. Even still, this place is NOT expensive, and its some of the best sushi Ive ever eaten. These guys destroy all of the local chain Sushi restaurants and the price is very comparable. If it is expensive at all, its definitely worth the extra money, because the price increase is not linear to the quality increase. We took our kids unfortunately, lol, but it has a quiet and romantic atmosphere with a nice big bar with some good beers and a killer lychee cocktail. We ordered a good amount of food, a beer, a cocktail, and even desert for 2 adults and a kid, and without the alcohol ito would have been under 40 dollats. Wherever you are going for sushi, stop going there and come here.

Great spot in the Greenlake Area! The staff was awesome and I really like sitting at the bar in the middle of the building. I think the place is decorated well and the chandelier adds a nice touch. I went here for happy hour and got a few rolls, one Salmon Roll, one Tekka Maki and a Rainbow Roll. I went out of a wimb and tried the Takoyaki per a review I read here. I actually really like the Takoyaki, I felt like this version was a little different from other sushi restaurants Ive been to. I definitely recommend getting this appetizer!

Wonderful sushi bar with a really friend sushi chef! I was meeting a friend for sushi and she was running a bit late. But I ended up making conversation with the chef and was so glad I did. He suggested the best fish and I really had a great time. I know they also serve a lot of great beer but at the time the tap lines had frozen so I didnt get a chance to try them. Also happy hour is a great deal! I will be going back again!

This is my default go-to restaurant. When inevitably my gf or I cant decide on a place to eat, we always go here. The "happy hour" is all-day, which translates to affordable and delicious sushi rolls all the time! Our favorite is the salmon skin roll, crunchy and sweet. The house wines and sake ($5) arent anything to write home about (the red wine was actually pretty bad), so we usually save our money and drink elsewhere.

You walk in and the place is immediately exciting in a very authentic way. Pay close attention. You may spot a few celebrities on the wall. Surrounded by intimate dining tables, the bar offers a public house feel and sense of community. Its ok, grab a beer while you wait or just sit at the bar if youre solo. All sushi will satisfy even the pickiest sushi connoisseur. Miso is great, but I have had much better wakame.

Really good sushi. Great atmosphere. Extremely long wait for it (almost an hour) and staff that appeared annoyed at me asking for the status of our order after the first 45 minutes. The guy next to me apologized before ordering because the server/bartender was so unpleasant. When we thanked her she just said "yeah." Although the sushi was good, the service was so poor I will not return.

Awesome place that just opened up. Has insanely good happy hour prices and great food. Update 12/20/2014 They just became a sushi place, and I couldnt be more stoked. They still have a full bar as the centerpiece, but now have a sushi bar and a full Japanese menu for everyone. This is exactly what this neighborhood is missing - good sushi. Cant wait to come here in the future.

We had a sister have what I would almost call a seizure here so my opinions bias... I love this place. If you go sit at the bar and talk to the chefs they will give you great food and throw is some specials if you pay with great conversation. They also remember your names so it also feels home like when you really in be.

Fish selection was limited and not very fresh, half of the roll selections were spicy and plain. My husband and I both have a mild stomachache afterwards for a relatively expensive meal, very disappointed since we went here because of the high rating.

Food was fantastic! Staff was friendly but a little cold. Service was very slow but I would definitely go back! I felt like the place needed cloth napkins, its atmosphere is posh, but the paper napkins and Panda Express style chop sticks seemed off.

Just tried this place, and its awesome! Only open 5-10pm now, but I hope that changes to be for lunch too. I would go often. The food was good, the staff was friendly, and the location is perfect. The spicy spider roll is BOMB! Prices $4-8!!

Good sushi and all day happy hour. And they have TACOYAKI!! Just dont order tea. Its $3 a for a tiny pot of tea and $3 for every time you want a refill (when all it should be is a hot water refill and for free).

Thurstons Bistro has the best small plates in town! The staff is fun and the daily live music is exceptional. Really. Any music fan will be pleased by the weekly lineup. Dont forget to try the honey toast !

Every time after work, its happy hour and its a pleasure to come here to have a Salmon sashimi and sushi set gold. The price is almost the same as those in supermarkets but the quality is 10x better!

Very good quality for the price. Dont go for too fancy sushi like squid or so it will not be really well prepared. Otherwise its a nice location for eating very descent cheap sushi :)
