THERE are 100+ beer taps that are offered here. That pretty much won me over AND my new favorite beer is served here - Mac n Jacks African Ale. Holy moly - at the suggestion of a fellow conference acquaintance - he suggested that I try it because it was his favorite craft beer AND you cant get it outside of Washington. Of course I had to try it. As soon as that cold brew hit my tongue - I knew I was in love. I dream about meeting you again Mac n Jack. I want you to consume me as much as I consume you. Anyways, enough of that - their brewery is in the area too. But... this is not about Mac n Jacks, its about the Tap House. Honestly, Im not really sure how the food was here because I really only came for the beer and didnt get to try the food (oops). The entire time I was in Seattle, I kept company here nightly with a few pints (dont judge me). I came during the Oktoberfest 2012 - where if you order the Oktoberfest beers, you get a free stein/glass with the name of the brewery. I didnt know about it the first night I was here - so I missed that one, but I went home with three new glasses (thank you Tap House). Also, if you try all the beers (they have a swipe-card tracking system - of course I had to ask!!!) at least once - you get this awesome plaque with your name and date and its permanently memorialized in the bar area. Too bad I dont live here, because you know that this would be a goal that I will try to attain and forever live on in Seattle. Btw, did the math, if you stay in Seattle for 2 weeks, 8 pints a day, that would meet the requirement and get you that plaque. Im just saying. Im glad that I was staying at the Sheraton right next door. It was easy to stumble back to my room every night :). This location is right in downtown seattle - a couple blocks away from Pikes and right in the heart of the shopping areas, and easily accessible by the light rail. Cant wait to come back. Btw, they sell growlers here that you can fill up with any of their beers, plus they have growler fill-up specials on Tuesdays!

Service was sub-par. I visited during happy hour alone and the restaurant was crowded as expected. There was no space at the bar so I ordered a drink and waited at the seating area for a table as the hostess suggested. A table was never offered to me as numerous other patrons came and went to seats while I sat there. Other guests told me I can order from the bar and bring food to the waiting area, so I did just that. Each time I ordered a drink or food, I had to get up and walk to the bar. My food was brought to me in the seating area; no silverware, no napkins. While seated there, a party of 3 came and it was obvious that they saw me eating there and decided to order food and eat in the seating area. Full service was provided to these 3, orders taken, silverware, drinks, and food brought to them without having to once walk to the bar. Meanwhile I am seated right next to them with food and drink and NOT ONCE was I asked if I needed anything. I was never brought a napkin, never asked for refills, etc. The waitress attended to that party of three 4 times and walked past me 4 times before I decided to leave. I went up to the bar with my food and drink and brought this up to the manager. He compd my meal, but his apology was half-hearted and dismissive at best. Would not recommend visiting this establishment if you are a single person of color as it seems very easy for the staff to gloss right past you while serving a party 3 white men who are ordered the same food and drinks and sit in the same nook as you. I work in the customer service industry and many of my colleagues visit this establishment. Ill make sure to share this incident with all of them.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience here. Not only was he blown away by the number of amazing beers on tap, we had the best customer service weve had in years. Halfway through my husbands dinner, I knocked over my wine glass and spilled half a glass of wine into his coconut curry noodles. He set his plate aside and the waitress came and removed it. A few minutes later the manager (Gilberto) came to our table, having noticed that the dish was half full of food (with a couple ounces of wine.) He offered to make my husband a brand new plate of food, but when my husband said he was full enough, the manager took the cost off our bill! Even though it was my fault! THEN he brought me another glass of wine on the house! Incredible!! We cant remember when we have ever received such attentive and gracious service. Btw - the food was really good! Gosh, it makes me long for the days when customer service mattered to anyone. We will always remember our great dinner and wonderful treatment. (Too bad we live in NC; otherwise, we would be regular customers.)

This is really a place for beer. Theres nothing wrong with that, but since I dont drink, it wasnt my favorite. We were there with friends, and they loved the selection of beers. A couple people at our table got mixed drinks, and they were good, too. The food selection is minimal, but what they have is great. My two biggest complaints are the noise and the service. We were there late on a weekend night during Emerald City Comicon, so the place was fairly busy, not packed but still loud. Cant hear yourself think, much less hold a conversation, loud. We did have a reservation, and we were seated fairly promptly, but our server was terrible. He came to check on us three times during our entire meal, once when the manager stopped at our table, once when another server brought us food, and once when we stuck our hands out and waved them around to get his attention. I think if wed had better service, I might have enjoyed it more. As it is, I doubt Ill be back.

Well, first greet by sour hostess who seemed super unenthusiastic about her job. The wait for a table of one wasnt bad but I cant speak for others. I was then seated at my table and waited about 7 minutes for the sever to approach. The worst waiter I have ever encountered. First, he took my drink order but only recited back the water item, so I made sure he had the beverage. He was like "yeah, got it,." At this point I continued to look over the menu. The waiter came back with just my water, not the alcoholic beverage. He then asked if I was ready to order. I asked if he could explain what "pub style" meant which he preceded with "I think" now I dont want a guessing game so I asked "you think or you know" I then asked for a straw and he comes back with an unwrapped straw from the bar in his hand and then places it in my drink. I would not recommend this place so far on my visit and will probably never return. Spend your money elsewhere.
