My wife and I decided to stop in on Friday night to check out the latest hot spot in Mosaic. In summary (if you dont want to read the whole review), the food and service were very good. The portions are on the smaller side while the price per portion is certainly on the higher side. Dont come if youre starving. But if you want a casual meal and conversation, this is certainly the place to come. Well come back again, but only for special occasions. We had a reservation for 7:15 and got seated around 7:30. The place was full and buzzing with conversation. After offering regular or sparkling water, our waiter did a wonderful job describing the menu and recommending cocktails. (Gripe #1: If Im going to pay $12 for a cocktail, dont fill the glass to 1.5 inches below the rim - that just shows youre milking me for all the money on drinks.) We order 3 "tastes", 3 cheeses, and 2 small plates. The tastes and the cheeses came first. The blue catfish rillette and the salmon ceviche were fantastic. The celery root on the other hand...meh. As for the cheese, all were very good and rich in flavor. The bleu cheese was our favorite. (Gripe #2: $6 for a 1 ounce portion of cheese?!) The 2 small plates we ordered were the escargot and the quail. The quail was excellent; our favorite dish of the night. The escargot is NOT what youre used to getting at other French restaurants. Its served on top of a puff pastry and has some sort of creamy sauce. Not quite worth the price, but still tasty. We decided not to have dessert, as we had already racked up a $150 bill for 4 drinks and the food. Though the desserts we did see come out looked good. They do bring you these small little chocolate chip cookies with your check. A nice touch. If I could do 3.5 stars for a rating, I would. Minus 1 star for the robbing of alcohol and I would do minus a half star for leaving me $150 in the hole while still hungry for dessert.

Ive been to Requin for both lunch and dinner now. We had dinner here for New Years Eve and I have to say that it lived up to the hype with not just one but TWO top chef contenders behind it. We had several small dishes as well as the seafood bouillabaisse. Dip the bread into the broth. Dont hesitate, just do it. Its amazing. Although I wasnt able to try it myself but Ive heard several times now that the french onion soup here is the best around and from some the best theyve ever had. The food for lunch was just as delicious but a little too rich of a meal for me. But, if youre looking for something indulgent I would go for the quick lunch which gives you a chance to try both a soup and sandwich. I had the duck confit scallion pancake. I think it was more of a dish meant to be shared with the table but I hoarded it to myself. Highly recommended for a nice dinner date or if you feel like being a little fancier than usual. Definitely glad that Requin replaced the previous tenant, Gypsy Soul, and hope they plan to stay!

Great experience. We were drawn in by the Restaurant Week menu but I decided to order off the regular dinner menu. I started with Mussel and Clam escabeche, then moved to baby octopus and quail drumette l’orange. The blueberry clafoutis was a great follow up. The blueberries were warmed to a perfect temperature. Though the portions here are small, 2 plus a dessert are probably plenty for most people. They are anywhere from $10-18 a plate so if you order 2; youre looking at a $30ish dollar dinner per person. Given the quality of ingredients and execution, Id say thats pretty good. They have an extensive and reasonably priced French wine list. We enjoyed an awesome bottle (okay maybe 2) of an excellent brut rose for $40/bottle. Read some reviews knocking the service. Our waitress was excellent. Attentive without being annoying, knowledgeable about the wine choices and menu options. We look forward to returning.

The service was very odd. One server outstraight said no to accommodating dietary needs then the manager came and spoke to the chef in the open kitchen where we saw her make a scene about it but allowed us to change one meal in the set menu with an extra charge. Afterwards, the service was over the top which was a rather confusing experience. The food tasted very good and the wine is great but we fell ill from the food (perhaps saltier and fattier than we are used to but probably the standard for most restaurants ?) If you have a tough stomach thats used to food with lots of fat in it (but tastes really good) and dont mind some strange service behaviour it could be fine? Bring a sweater if you do go, its freezing in there.

A nice upscale restaurant in a nice shopping area. Unusual food, lots of small plate options, but I find them a bit pretentious. A very nice interior. They have a large bar where you can eat. The bar seats are the worst bar seats Ive ever sat in as they are small and you feel as if you may fall out of them at any moment. Also, the stools themselves sit at various heights so if you are tall and sit in the wrong place you will feel like your sitting at your childs elementary school desk. I found the food okay but nothing special for the price. Perhaps this is just a style of food I dont prefer. Check out their menu and if its your type of food I recommend giving it a try.

The interior, decor, location, ambience and music is great. For the location the prices are moderately inexpensive. Place is great to dine with friends and the service is great and menu is simple. The food however was bland. I ordered the double cheeseburger with fritas, cod croquettes and my wife had the Lamb shoulder. The croquettes even though they were fried perfectly were bland and mushy. The cheeseburger was a bit greasy and tasteless. The beans in the lamb were underwhelming but the lamb was seared nicely. Overall I have to give this place an average rating and probably wont be back.

Went here for brunch. The place wasnt very crowded so it was easy to get a table. The space is open and airy with bar seats that face an open kitchen. We got the mimosas (orange & grapefruit) and they were perfectly made with an emphasis on the sparkling wine. We got the veggie omelet and the Croque Salmon. Veggie omelet was very well made in a french style with the interior soft and runny. The Croque Salmon was a little heavy with a lot of cheese but tasty. Chef Jen Carroll was in the open kitchen working so it was nice to see plates being expedited. Will be back for dinner.

Eh. Went there for my birthday and had the 3 course meal. It was not worth it in my mind, luckily- I ordered the burger and the burger was pretty good but the rest was eh. The dessert was actually not great. We ordered the chocolate lava cake and the lemon blueberry one- eh. I had a old fashioned and gin & tonic- both were eh. The restaurant itself is pretty and can see why people would want to come here but the food is just so-so for the price. We probably wont come back here. :/
