Ive had a rapidly declining relationship with this place for a while now, and this latest experience has been so bad that I likely wont be back. Ive come here twice before with my uncle who is known to eat just about anything you put in front of him. On the second occasion, the eggs Benedict made him physically ill within 15 minutes of finishing the meal. Today, however, I came with my two friends from out of town who were looking for a late breakfast. We walked in at around 1PM to a half empty restaurant, and asked to be seated at a window to see the market. Despite there being several open tables, we were asked to wait so that a waitress could clean one off for us. Go figure, it was the one window seat with a big fat pillar taking up 60% of the view. After being seated, a very anxious - looking waiter practically slammed down some water and hurriedly asked for our drink orders, when I hadnt even finished removing my jacket. He returned pretty quickly, but got my friends drink order wrong. He fixed that pretty quickly so it wasnt a big deal, but then wanted to take our food order. We had only been seated for 5 minutes so we werent ready, and he looked extra exasperated when we still werent ready on his return a whole 3 minutes later. Now Ill admit, one of friends is a bit finicky due to a very recent bariatric surgery, so he can only eat small portions before feeling full. He pulled a few potatoes and a slice of bacon off my plate, and had a bite of his husbands pot pie. (Literally a bite. I seriously cannot understate how little this guy manages to eat and still function. Its kind of insane.) We asked for an extra plate for him and were given a big sighing eyeroll from both the waiter and his backup waitress, and an extra plate charge for what turned out to be a saucer. And I didnt realize until I saw the receipt later, but that must have been a massive charge for that saucer. My bacon and eggs plate was 10, and I cant imagine that my friends little pot pie and even littler coke was more than 15, and we ended up with about a 35 dollar bill... so either that coke was made of actual cocaine or that plate must have been made out of freaking adamantium or something. The only thing that merits a 2nd star is the fact that the potatoes are really quite good, and have been every time. My friends pot pie was also received well, but I dont know if he thought it was good or if he was just being kind and not letting me know that he thought I was nuts for recommending we stop at this place. So between the bipolar waiter who vacillated between animatedly hurrying us through our orders at a freakishly fast pace to slowly rolling his eyes at our later requests for things like extra plates and Togo boxes and the check; the silent waitress behind him who was either there as his executive eyeroll coach or his mean-mugger in-training; and the less than stellar seating arrangement behind the only freaking pillar - blocked window in a sea of empty window booths, I seriously doubt I will ever be back, and I certainly wont recommend this place to any of my friends visiting from out of town, lest they think Im trying to poison them.

Landed in Seattle and got settled into my hotel, then thought I would shoot over and check out Pikes Place Market. Feeling hungry, not wanting to eat "counter" food and really wanting a glass of wine, I saw Pike Place Bar and Grill, its right outside the market so there should be some great fish, right? Wrong. The lunch menu hardly offers any fish selection at all, a sandwich and a salad with salmon. So since Im in the Pacific Northwest, the home to all the best salmon in the world, and its so close to the market, I asked about the salmon and was told; no. Not only is it not fresh local salmon, its Atlantic salmon. WTF? So I ordered a French Dip Sandwich ($10.99) that had a bit of meat between bun and some soggy french fries. I did get a mediocre indifferent glass of cabernet for $7.25; and it also was NOT from Washington. Have you heard of local? LindySez: I should have gone for the counter food in the market ...

It was not busy when we went in, but the service was slow. I think our waiter was stoned out of his mind. He never brought the lemons and extra water requested. He asked if we wanted a split check at least 4 times. Each time the answer was no. The young lady who brought the water seemed to find it a challenge to carry the water jug around and I suspect her of joining the waiter in "puff, puff pass". I asked for the check several times. When it came I quickly gave my credit card. I saw the waiter put it in his apron pocket and help another table. He then came back about 10 mins later with the check. He had forgotten this part was done and he had taken my card! At this point I demanded to know where my card was and he said, "sorry someone must be running it." I will be checking my card for extra activity. The reason for the two stars is the food and beer were good.

|After enjoying my food and server, I went to the rest room. I was standing in the bathroom stall adjusting my outfit when a woman yelled at me to get off of the floor. I stated that I was standing up! She then beat on the stall door, telling me to get out. |I asked her if she worked at the resturant, she then said she was the manager. |I exited the stall to follow her out. |She went to the hostess desk. |I demanded to speek with a manager, as I could tell she was not one. |I was met by the nice man who served my lunch to me. |He said he was the manger. |I reported her rude behavior to him as she stared at me with a crazy look in her eye. I have worked in the Market for 6 years and have never witnessed someone act this way to anyone at the Market...

Stopped by around 6pm after deciding Matts upstairs was too expensive for dinner. Our server was kind and helpful, drinks and food came out fast. French fries were great, but the rest of the food was mediocre, and not worth the $13-20 per entree. Seems they forgot the dressing on the coleslaw (mmm, plain raw cabbage flavor). Crab cake appetizer was $10 and only had 2 small crab cakes served on an under-dressed salad. Artichoke dip appetizer tasted good but the cheese hadnt been melted, it would have been fantastic had they put it under the broiler for five mins. Altogether an okay experience.

I arrived at 430 and asked if I could order off the dinner menu (the menu stated that dinner is served after 5 pm). The waiter went to adk the whoever and came back with a sullen no. Well ok, somewhat dissapointed that I couldnt order a fish entree I ordered the crab and shrimp melt at the waiters recommendation. Food was mediocre at best, but I didnt get my food until 4:56.. which tempted me to turn the food back and order the fish I had wanted in the first place. Also... the draught beers are less than 12 oz. Boo
