Im originally from Tallahassee, Florida which, culturally, is basically South Georgia. A lot of barbecue and cheap, humble decadence. Now being in Seattle, I sure do miss that. RoRos brings me right back home. Lets start with the ambiance. Really quite perfect for a barbecue place. Small and informal. Kitschy art dresses the walls, checkered parchment paper lines the plates and little plastic baskets, and for some reason, those red (hard) plastic cups that the drinks come in really add to the experience. Very authentic. Now, the food and that damn good sweet tea. We split the pulled chicken with macaroni and cheese and jalapeño mashed potatoes...and then of course, sweet tea. Everything tasted amazing. The pulled chicken was tender and packed with sweet and smoky taste. The macaroni and cheese was traditional southern style--very very creamy. The mashed potatoes were awesome--mild, but with a hint of that jalapeño flavor. And the sweet tea was spot-on in terms of sweetness (hard to find that out west). All was just so good. Since that first meal, Ive also had their shoe string fries. Oh good lord! These are literally the best fries Ive ever had! They are like a fresher, tastier version of McDonalds fries. Really. You know how a lot of corporate restaurants started out as a mom-and-pop kind of place before they were "discovered" and bought up? I feel like this must have been how Sonnys tasted before their corporate takeover. Similar flavors, but fresh and a more homemade taste. Love this place! So happy I live nearby. I can smell it from where I live too, so its an honest struggle to not eat at Roros all the time.

Best brisket Ive had in a very long time, asked mine to be chopped and lean with burnt ends added to it. Im a big fan of this brisket, just eat it with my fingers with no sauce and go crazy for the flavors. Great smoke flavor indeed, though smoke ring isnt the best Ive eaten and beef isnt breaking in your fingers and have the best dry/wet ratio. Though there are very few in the world that do that really well and most of them are in TX. Its more juicy fatty and captures the flavors of the wood really well, it melts in your mouth and the taste is a real winner. NO DOUBT the best brisket in the Seattle area and can compete for best in the north west, its spectacular. FYI Ive eaten so much competition grade Q all over the USA, mostly in south and south east, my perspective and depth in Q flavors is legit as can be.

BBQ is a personal thing so its tough giving advice. However, my opinion is that there are no better ribs being served in Seattle today. Ive heard that the brisket is even meaner. But I cant get past the ribs. The "bark" is thick and on the sweet side, so if youre into savory rubs this may leave you wanting. But I love it as I dislike overly salty ribs. The bark is a heavenly layer of crunchy, sweet, pork rib savoriness. Try it! This place is small and indoor seating is not awesome. They do have some nice outdoor tables though. On a summer Friday evening Im sitting here watching the line, lots of pulled pork sandwich orders too. With the closing of the BBQ Pit on Cherry in the CD, this place is my new favorite ribs BBQ.

Buffalo Chop sandwich. This has reigned supreme as my personal favorite sandwich in Seattle for the last couple years. RoRos delectable brisket and pulled pork smothered with buffalo/ranch sauce and topped with the coleslaw you are already thinking about getting as a side. Ive had all the sides. Shoestring fries are the best; wish you could pair that with another side but, alas, not an option. Small, old building with new biz/apt buildings going up around it. Its obviously stuck around for a reason! Oddly, save for a couple workers there, it seems there is a new staff every time you go there. Worth mentioning because I find the consistency in flavor really good despite this.

Before coming here, I saw a handful of reviews that said this was the "best" place to get bbq in Fremont/Wallingford. What they dont say is that this is the most mediocre bbq and the only such place to find in the area. Small sides (literally a half a cup of macaroni and minimal slaw) accompany the sandwiches, and the hot links are a far cry from what youd expect from an average BBQ joint. Add to this that the meals are priced at a 30-40% premium, and you get a disappointing bbq experience. Id give this place 3-4 stars if they were priced $6-9 for their main plates, but they are priced around $13.

As a Seattle native I may have once liked RoRos BBQ, but after tasting real Texas BBQ this place really doesnt impress. The brisket was dry and required a lot of sauce to make it palatable. What was especially weird about this place was that one of their employees was complaining about quitting the restaurant while we were checking out, delaying the delivery our food by about an hour then eventually the person walked out (quit) and started bickering to us about how bad management is. Not really sure if this is the restaurants fault or not but this was too bizarre to ever return.

I went there around 5 on a Tuesday. The place was very hot inside and had its own swarm of flies. I got the pulled pork sandwich and corn muffin. The pork was very dry and bland. It didnt have much flavor to it, though there was a lot of pork in the sandwich. The sauce was nondescript and certainly not "spicy", though I will say the person ringing me up had told me as much. The corn muffin was somewhat bland and hard. Frankly, I dont get the "best BBQ in Seattle" some folks are talking about with their reviews. Maybe I just got them on a bad day.

They were super busy for the 4th. I get that. But they were out of almost everything on the menu, so we had to change our order a lot to account for what they didnt have. The wait was long, and when we got home they had given me an entirely different order. You cant see that from the closed containers and the tied bag. Got home and NOTHING was what we ordered, and instead we got three of the exact same meal that we did not order. Frustrating.

Love the brisket and pulled pork sliders. Too bad the service sucks. They forget your coke, you walk back. They forget your cornbread...want you to walk back a second time. Dont know who is managing the place....but there is always someone new behind the counter. Overpriced and bad service. Save the $25 bucks a plate and just get pizza or teriyaki if in the area.

Upon reading reviews on how good the food tasted and how bad the service was, I decided to give it a try and see for myself what the fuss was all about. Upon arriving I was greeted warmly and was recommended the top food dishes available. The service was great,, but the food was exceptional! I can easily say that was the best pulled pork I have ever tasted!

If you are craving BBQ, this is your spot. Its a tiny, itty-bitty hole in the wall location with a gigantic apartment building next to it. The hometown vibe is great. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was SO good. My favorite side is BY FAR the Mac n Cheese. Its gooey and so delicious. Its a tiny bit on the pricey side, but its worth it.
