we were extremely lazy about planning our valentines day dinner and did NOT want to wait more than an hour for a table at the restaurants couples were fighting to get into. so later that night at 9pm, we set out and walked down geary blvd. looking for a good place to eat that did not have people spilling out the door. we pass this restaurant everyday, and it is definitely overshadowed by brothers across the street, tofu house, and other korean restaurants in the neighborhood. that night we stopped to peek inside. only 4 tables were taken. whip out the phone for a quick yelp check. good reviews! maybe couples on their romantic valentines day date did not want to end the night smelling strongly of grilled meat? we love the smell of grilled meat =D it was a great meal. the only thing that we had a problem with was that we wanted to grill the meat ourselves so they set up our grill on the table. however, as the night progressed, we literally felt like our faces were about to melt off. we usually can take the heat, but this time with all the charcoal, it was too much! as politely as we could, we asked if they could take it in the kitchen and they were so nice to us about it. the side dishes were great, the waitresses were very nice, and we got some free tofu soup. we stayed there till late that night and it was an excellent, satisfying end to the day.

My friend and I went with the $48 BBQ Charcoal Set for 2. Pretty pricey, but a ton of food came out. You get the standards: a bowl of rice, rice tea, and Korean Banchan. You get a hefty amount of Rib Eye and Chicken. And you even got some Soft Tofu Stew. As always, there is a helpful Korean lady to help you cook your meat. We were definitely not prepared for the amount of food, but thoroughly devoured and enjoyed everything that came our way. Its pricey and it probably will be even more expensive during my next visit. Prices are probably going up as often as rent is in San Francisco. Every price label seems to have been changed 4-5 times given the stack of small white labels displaying the price. Pro tip - if you really enjoy any of the Banchan dishes, dont hesitate to ask for some more.

Terrible service. Our waitress did not even attempt to answer our questions. It was not busy at all when we were there. There were about three tables at the time, and she did not come to check on us once. The only time she spoke to us was when we ordered, and did not even make eye contact when she gave us our check. It was not a welcoming environment at all, and as good as the food may have been, the service we received ruined our entire meal. We came here because of the great reviews, many of which spoke about the great service. Very disappointing.

Based on the other reviews I came here bc I was close by and was craving for Korean BBQ. Much to my displeased, I ordered dinner for 2 (rib eye, chicken, tofu soup). The flavor was bland for Korean food, not spicy or flavorful as I would hope. The portable charcoal cooktop was so HOT, It was bothering my eyesight. I would not recommend this place if you are a Korean Bbq lover like myself. You never know with your visit though. Perhaps the chef ran out of marinating condiments! Lol

It tasted good; portions werent huge, but I still think Han Il Kwan is better. :) We ordered 3 Kalbi plates; the 3rd time, it was super undercooked; the meat had no sear and was practically steamed. Meat on the bones were totally raw. They can make a Kabli Jin though I didnt see it on the menu and it was delicious. I would rate everything else from average to good, but will leave them at 3 stars because there are many other Korean places that I would give 4 stars that are better.

Is about 29US dollars for per person. All of the foods taste good. It will be better to order the vegetables and eat with meat. Its not suit to many people to eat together because they just supply two ovens to cook. Four people use one oven which is enough. More than four people to use one oven ,people will feel hungry. They limit two hours to eat.

If you love Korean food youll love this place. Traditional charcoal barbecue is way better than those hot plates at other places. The service was great and they were on top of assisting us the whole way through the night. Like most Korean places I suggest going with at least four people. The meal for two can easily serve three.

This was pretty good k-barb. I wasnt incredibly impressed though, and they did all the cooking for us, which I didnt really like. Dont get me wrong, if you want to enjoy some k-barb, the group special we got here was still absolutely delicious, but with so many places to choose from, I cant say this ranks among the best.

Very good food, served quickly (let the kitchen cook it) at reasonable prices (advice go for the meal sets). The wait staff are attentive as the crowd allows, else you can call their attention as is customary in most asian retaurants. I like to beat the rush and relax.

Its a very late night BBQ house. Its super pricey and the staff is pretty rude, but the food itself is fine and if youve got a big drunk crowd its a perfect place to be rowdy and linger after a night out.

Is not open until 3am! The hostess greeted me, after my party walked in, asked how many we were then told me they were closed. The kitchen closes at MIDNIGHT. Go elsewhere for late night korean. :(

Great old-school interior with smoke stains in all the right places. Open very late, and staff is friendly. Real charcoal pan for you to grill your own meats. Id say its pretty authentic.

My favorite wooden charcoal Korean BBQ in town. Im usually at the only white table in the joint. Rib eye is the way to go. Excuse me while I go unzip my pants now.

Good but a little expensive, that being said, they love me here and have always treated me great. My wife thinks its because they think Im Korean (I am not)

Great tasting Korean BBQ. It not being gas but coal gives the meat a special flavor. But you will leave with smelly clothes and hair. However its worth it.
