As a vegan I rarely find myself dining out, however on the occasion of my parents 60th anniversary my wife, my parents and myself had brunch at Palisade as it is a favorite spot of my folks. When making the reservations my wife asked if they had anything vegan on their menu. Chef Brett Howell got on the phone and assured her that he would rise to the challenge of accommodating me though I asked for no special treatment. When we arrived Chef Brett greeted us at our table and over the course of our stay presented a spectacular meal which he and his staff had prepared. Two sumptuous salads accompanied by fresh, piping hot blueberry lemon muffins and vegan butter on the side. Next came a tofu quiche with mushrooms. Brett had been working on the recipe for 4 days according to the manager! It was absolutely magnificent! Then came his risotto which was the best I have ever had anywhere! The pastry chefs made special deserts including coconut truffles, chocolate mousse and chocolate brownies topped with flower shaped icing the entire dish garnished with fresh raspberries, blackberries and fresh mint sprigs. Unforgettable treatment and service from the minute we made the reservations to the minute we left. Our server Desiree made us feel so welcome as did the manager who came out and spoke with us. Brett personally served my meal. Im just a local musician and Brett and The Palisade made me feel like a rock star. I would urge them to offer vegan choices as they are so good at creating a menu which was very soul satisfying. Thank you guys all for the truly great experience. Outstanding!

Weve been to Palisade a few times over the years. Ive always thought of it as a wonderful classic Seattle restaurant. A couple Fridays ago, we took my 75 year old dad to Palisade to treat him to an amazing dinner (they dont come out to Seattle often). We had reservations at 7pm, and were immediately seated. Our three kids had a great time feeding the fish and sipping on their children meal drinks. Their meals arrived around 8:15, and after about 10 min waiting for the rest of the food, we let the kids begin eating as they were starving. Three of the four adult meals arrived at about 8:40. My dads meal came about 10 min after that. We probably should have started eating, but wanted to start with my dad. Obviously, our food got cold while waiting for my dads to arrive. The salmon was overcooked, but we werent able to inform our server, as she never came to check on us. When she finally did, we had eaten everything else, and about 9:15, and just decided not to make a big deal out of what was supposed to be a special night for my dad. Afterward, I wrote an email to the restaurant telling them of my disappointment, hoping for them to somehow explain and apologize. To date, I have not received an acknowledgement nor an apology. We will never go here again. This may be a one time situation, but I expect better overall service, period. Maggie Bluffs, the restaurant in the same building, is a much better choice. And there are so many other amazing Seattle restaurants with waterfront views.

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in July. We are beyond excited and we wanted to find out the gender in a special way. We planned to have dinner at Palisade and during dessert, we would find out if we were having a boy or a girl. Neither of us had been there before, but we will definitely be going back. It was the perfect setting and the staff went above and beyond. When we arrived at the restaurant, my husband gave the paper to the hostess and asked if they could write the gender on our dessert plate. They said they would do something special for us and we were so pleasantly surprised. … After a delicious meal, our waitress came out with the manager and revealed a gift bag that read, “welcome sweet baby boy” along with the perfect card. While we ate, they sent the valet to get us something special for the reveal. We were so overwhelmed by the effort that they put into this. Our waitress, Sarah H. thanked us for sharing this special night with her, but really we can’t thank her enough. She was so amazing and made us feel so special. I will forever be grateful to the staff at Palisade for giving us a night we will never forget. I highly recommend Palisade Restaurant for any special occasion.

This is simply a great upscale designed restaurant that provides a stunning marina view and creates delicious dishes that are meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. They even have a trout pond that you cross over as you are seated! This review is for Restaurant Week. I had the Shrimp and Pineapple salad, Ciopinno, and Chocolate Ganache Cake for food, and the Scratch Margarita and Eastside Elderflower for drinks. The salad contained tiny shrimp that are similarly found in the Costco freezer aisle, so it something to be desired. However, the Ciopinno MORE than made up for it! What a classic, scrumptious, and hearty dish. Dessert was quite literally a pan-mold of pure Chocolate Ganache--it was high brow frosting at its best, alongside creamy gelato. THIS DESSERT IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. Lastly, the beverages were delicious. The margarita was what I expected, nothing more, nothing less. The Eastside was truly refreshing, and worthy of another visit--gin, elderflower liquer, crisp cucumber and muddled mint! Overall, the service was excellent, the view was excellent (definitely recommend making a reservation close to sunset!), and the experience was, well, excellent.

Its at a great location and the service is gracious, but the food itself suffers greatly from the current fads in food fashion. Far too much of the "chef having fun in the kitchen" factor, with a hit on just about every cliche in vogue. (Including the baseball bat size ground pepper mill.) But even so, food fad recipes cant excuse a crab & lobster bisque that has that "cod liver oil" telltale taste of seafood gone past its prime. And of course in crab & lobster soup one does expect to find pieces, however small, of some crabmeat, some lobster, but not a hard, overcooked piece of strongly fishy tasting fish. Some of the people at our table claimed to like the soup but we others were going "eeeuuuw, not so fresh tasting." My guess is that they used the seafood bisque concept as a way to get rid of fish that was no longer fresh. And by the way, this soup was quite buttery, as though the laying in of lots and lots of butter was going to overcome the disgusting not-so-fresh-fish taste.
