Very Disappointed... After a rather cold reception we were seated in a stale smelling dinning room, albeit with a beautiful view of the harbor and Mt. Rainier, within a few feet of the kitchen door only to hear the radio in the kitchen as there was no dinning room music to create any sort of ambiance. We were served two very small glasses of house wine, approx. 3-4 ounces ($7 ea.), they were very flat tasting. After 15 minutes we were finally served with 6 medallions of bread the size of .50 cent pieces - we sent it back as the end piece was stale and hard as a serving plate. No apologies were made but rather an excuse offered to state "It was an end piece". We waited another 10 minutes for a replacement serving. The seafood chowder contained NO detectable pieces of seafood as it was obviously blended nearly into a puree (not chowder style by any definition) and was completely void of flavor - water-like is more accurate. Ivars chowder is more satisfying. We did not finish the servings. Our entrees arrived 40 minutes after ordering - very small portions. My entree ($28) was described in the menu to contain an assortment of seafood and fresh vegetables. It actually contained one 1 inch cube of halibut, one similar sized piece of dry sockeye salmon, one very over-cooked prawn "not scampi" and two small scallops. Omitted were the ahi tuna and clams described in the menu. The "fresh" vegetables consisted of 1 over-cooked broccoli floweret (the size of a nickel) and four strips of massacred red pepper. I sent it back. The "lobster" medallions were shown to have the consistency of mashed potatoes and no detectable lobster meat ($14). The aioli was bland. The chicken ravioli was marginal with one chicken breast and paper thin stuffed pasta rounds ($22). The dessert included a large piece of cake (grocery store bakery quality) with a drizzle of Herseys Syrup. Our desert toured the entire restaurant and outside seating area on the deck as the server searched for forks. We heard numerous wait-staff continuously offering apologies to the other dinners - for varied reasons of poor attention and lack of knowledge of entree ingredients. We left disappointed and will not return for the long waits, poor food quality, poor service, and far less than what a $28 dollar entree should offer in respect to portion sizes (3 ounces of seafood.) or a reasonable standard of quality. The waitress did make an apology at the end of our experience and removed one entree cost from our billing - we did see some nice presentations on other entrees served. It could be fabulous with some attention to details.

We have had a great experience every time we have eaten at the Green Turtle. The food is good and it has been very consistent across the menu options. It has simply the best view of Mount Rainier you are going to get in Gig Harbor at a restaurant so call ahead and reserve the best table for a special occasion or a nice night out. The service has also always been entertaining. My one criticism is that it is quite small and it can have a slightly cramped feel if they are completely full.

The view is breathtaking on a clear summer day and the atmosphere is nice. The food was very good!! I had the Salmon, my husband had the Shrimp and Scallops. The downside is that the portions are small and the price is not..$85 with tip for 2 entrees. No drinks or extras. My husband was still hungry when we left (3 shrimp and 3 scallops with rice and a veggie was not nearly enough). "The Tides" next door was Packed, with a few changes this could be a goldmine!!

Gig Harbor has been rated as one of the "most friendly small towns in Wahington" and the Green Turtle is one reason for it. The owner, Sue Glenn, and her staff make you feel welcome and "at home" the moment you walk in. The excellent menu, service and harbor views create a dining experience to be savored. If you have a special occaision, make a reservation at the Green Turtle- ours have always been memorable!

Wonderful experience! We had the best steak in a very long time. It melted like butter in my mouth. Way better than Anthonys Restaurant steaks. The atmosphere was very intimate. The view was great Im sure in the summer time is way better. Definitely going back for the summer experience. The service was awesome the chef was amazing they really know their stuff.

Small quaint restaurant that has a great Asian/Northwest fusion cuisine. The views are amazing but the alcohol selection is not. Beer selection is pitiful but the wine selection is more than passable. With a great brewery within walking distance you think they would have a better selection PS The duck is amazing

Went for our anniversary and Jason was our server. The sirloin steak was so incredibly tender and the reduction sauce was very flavorful and complimentary to the whole dish. Jason was delightful. He was very attentive and never made us feel rushed. I am definitely looking forward to another visit!

Decent service, beautiful location... Thats about it. Food was actually kind of gross. A charred steak (ordered med-rare) disguised in sauces and garnish. And super dry salmon... Wish we would have saved our date night $$$ and made the frozen Costco salmon in our fridge... MUCH tastier!

I dont know that Ive ever had a steak more delicious than the one I had here. Everything was delicious, from the drinks and appetizers all the way through dessert. The service was excellent and attentive and it truly was a great experience from start to finish!

Overpriced, uninspired food. Lots and lots of butter is not a good substitute for good recipes. Nice location, though. Staff was nice, so its not fun to give a bad review, but we go out to restaurants to eat, after all...

It is a wonderful little place great for a romantic dinner or for a little group to eat a great meal. Even though it is a smaller dining room there is plenty of room and easy to have a conversation with those your with.

Best fish chowder I have ever tasted. I could have taken home a gallon of it and happily eaten it daily. Small but cozy...Must be heaven on a warm day overlooking the water.
