Oh this place is one of the hidden gems in Seattle and let me tell you why: 1) Family owned: That means that you see the same waiters, waitresses and bartenders every time you go in. Its like cheers, where everybody knows your name. 2) Low prices: Im not sure why but while other restaurants in Seattle were busy raising prices (sometimes as much as 35% over the past few years) kona kitchen has had prices stay relatively low. Nothing like a restaurant where you can steel get a meal for under $10 3) The food: They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with plenty of good items on each menu. Two of my favorite items are the fried loco Moco and thr chili. 4) The bar area: There is a tiny little bar in the back of the restaurant where you can go to watch a football game if all of the other local places are too packed or you just want to watch TV in peace while you eat.

This is a super welcoming, family friendly Hawaiian style diner that gives a consistently positive experience. Theres not much else to say really, I would rate the food as being above average diner fare with the Hawaiian twist that puts it over the top. The staff is made up of younger high school/college girls who are very friendly and do a great job. Stop by if youre in the Maple Leaf neighborhood and looking for a good meal. Edit: Id like to add, this is really one of the better places among a few close by neighborhoods. Theres Kona, Wayward Cafe, and Dans Kitchen in this area which are all good and theres not much else offering the same type of menu/service/quality.

The staff the restaurant are incredibly friendly and customer-focused. The menu consists of staples like loco moco, mochiko chicken, katsu, mac salad and so forth. Most of the options are fantastic, but some items should be avoided like the mashed potatoes and korean chicken. The mashed potatoes were prepared from powder when we ordered them, which was disappointing. The korean chicken was mushy (not crispy like it should be). Aside from these shortcomings, Kona Kitchen is a restaurant worth checking out, as long as you stick to the popular staples mentioned above.

Loco Moco was pretty good; but came in for the kalua pork and Mac salad I regret not getting it because I love Mac salad and witnessed a couple a table over aweing every bite of that chilled creamy macaroni salad cut with warm and tangy kalua pork. I looked down at my plate and with the edge of my spoon split the egg that rested on my chicken katsu; yolk cascaded down the dome of fried rice, mixing with the gravy along the way. If it were not for the large portion promised in the menu (A+) I would have chosen that kalua pork and Mac salad...

Dont know how the food is but there customer service sucks. We walked in and stood for 5 minutes and walked out we were the only ones standing there and the waitressSSSSS made eye contact with us and basically went on with her duties and not sitting us.also Place smells like a mold i can tell they dont clean there carpet at all. Good luck people im from hawaii and this place has no ALOHA at all.

Absolutely lovely owner, and maybe sweet patrons. I had a lot of nice conversations in this restaurant, many of which were young people interested in my camera. I was doing a photoshoot, this is the favorite mobile-workplace of a local filmmaker. The owner showed us his skills in stunt fighting, it was amazing! Thanks for the kid hospitality. Its a warm gem in a slightly cold neighbourhood.

Wow!!! Kona Kitchen is delicious and probably the closest thing to Hawaiian food I have had outside the islands in a long time. Its a large restaurant so there always seems to be seating. The staff is wonderful and very warm. And the menu is insane! So much food! Plus breakfast is served all day. A great choice for brunch if you have never had a hawaiian style brunch.

If youre from Hawaii and youre feeling a little homesick, come to Kona Kitchen! You get the local feel while eating all kinds of local food. The mac salad is BONN and you cant beat the teri beef sandwich...extra mayo, please! Lol. They also have karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. If youre lucky, you might get to see Chozen himself (Yuji Okumoto)....

MOCHIKO CHICKEN! The best Ive ever had! Most authentic Hawaiian food. Some of the dishes my friends had were pretty salty, but overall very good. I liked how the restaurant is decked out in family photos and it has a very at-home feel to it. The front door is very close to a bar, make sure you go in the right one!

Its a good thing that Kona Kitchen is a bit too far to walk my dog to on a normal lunch. If it were in dog walking distance to my house, I would probably die of plate lunch overdose. I havent tried much because the Mochiko Chicken and Kalua Pig are both so good that I have trouble making up my mind as it is.

The food is signature Hawaii. It was quick, and fairly priced. The only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is the decor and the bathroom. The bathroom was dusty and the decor needs serious updating. However, if your looking for yummy Hawaiian cuisine, this is the place for you. AND.... They have guava cake!

This place could serve the saltiest, least authentic, over priced Hawaiian food, but they dont. They could because the staff and owners are a delight on their own. Fortunately, they nail the food and keep it real. Seattle gets to enjoy a little Hawaii in their mouth and spirit.

Ordered chicken katsu and it was a delicious dish. It was very quiet during our visit, the place was not packed. Place had more of an Asian restaurant feel than an Hawaiian food place. The server was very friendly and well mannered. Speedy service. Needs new interior decorating.

Great coffee, real Hawaiian food, this place couldnt get more Hawaiian, more so than youd see in any tourist trap. Food is going to fill you up, so dieters beware (or prepare to grav a box!). This place is huge and draws a real crowd, dont forget to grab a cup of kona coffee!

Sometimes I get this massive craving for Hawaiian food - and then I get sad because theyre so hard to find near me. Enter Kona Kitchen - while not as affordable as some other fast-casual Hawaiian plate lunch joints, the selection is more robust and definitely hits the spot.

They had a power outage since yesterday afternoon at around 2:30 pm and it posted on their glass door when I went there so I called the cafe and it was on their answering machine as well that they were closed I hope they are OK there and as always Ill be back

Love this place for breakfast or brunch. Run by a family, always smiling and so friendly. A little aloha spirit in Seattle. Get there early or wait in some impressive lines. They just show that the Kona knows how to throw down a good breakfast.

The parking lot was small, but the restaurant had a lot of seating. It also wasnt very crowded inside for a Sunday morning brunch. Food was good as well. This place saved our morning after Pattys turned out to be so busy!
