The Dragon was toothless but drooled on everything! I am amazed that this restaurant has received accolades and awards! What I saw was large, homestyle plates of food; most people eating noodle dishes, apparently because they are homemade. If the fried vegetable potstickers were an indication of the noodles then you can keep them, too. The potsticker wrapper was very thick, tough and chewy. I could barely cut them with my fork and I am no wimp. The filling was tasty, but just chopped spinach out of a bag as its base. Our very plain "chicken with garlic and vegetables in Szechwan sauce was very salty and smothered in sauce and no garlic that we could find or taste. Many pieces of bell pepper (in both our dishes), were too big to be bite-sized. The "sliced Cod" with black bean sauce was not with black bean sauce, but Szechwan, and I did not realize their mistake till writing this... The cod was battered and fried. The menu does not state this! The batter, like the potstickers, was overdone and tough. The fish itself was good. The only thing positive I can say about this meal is that the portions are large and the ingredients were fresh and of good quality. It is popular with families. There were no Asians dining here that I saw... The first glass of my wifes red wine was absolute plonk! We sent it back and the replacement glass was OK. They opened a new bottle or box for us, it seems. This is not real Chinese food as I know it. It is the over sweet, over salty, over sauced, heavy-handed Americanized version. Service was acceptable. Our waitress wore a Snappy Dragon T-shirt with holes in it. Also, the restaurant is very noisy. The walls are hard and basically bare. Im assuming this was once a home. If you are into take-out, large portions, think Sweet and Sour Pork is the typical Chinese dish and the cats meow and have never eaten where Asians eat, then this place is for you.

You know what you are getting with Judys. To give it a rating of less than 5 stars would be a shame. These rating stars are not to indicate the class of a joint. If you take into account the owners, history, dedication to consistency and vibe, this place has 5 stars in each category, let alone on food quality, which is as original and authentic as this style of chinese food gets, really. This restaurant specializes in classic, fairly priced American-Chinese food. That is what we want. The dumplings are delectable. The home made chow mein is wonderful. The dumplings have a firm shell and soft textured meat center that has allll of the flavors. The chow mein noodles are firm, have a great texture and a perfect buttery oil on their skin. Foodies try hard to stand out in a croud, so to speak, and are often a disservice to us average food enthusiasts. It often feels as though they stew (yum!) on a point and allow that point grow like a cancer in their critical, short-sited minds. I like Judys, give her a try. Remember that they are often busy, so plan ahead and get dem dumplings while theyre still around.

If youre looking for amazing Chinese food with authentic flavors outside of the International District, (indeed outside of San Franciscos China Town) then Judy Fus is where you want to eat at. This place was recommended to me by a local Seattlite and I am so glad I followed her advice. Judy Fu (who still owns the restaurant and is always there with her husband ready to greet patrons and just mingle with customers) and her recipes are hands down some of the best Chinese food Ive had in a while. It is only rivaled by more authentic Chinese flavors and recipes that Ive found in San Franciscos China Town. This restaurant is a great balance between authentic gourmet Chinese food, and favorite local hidden family restaurant. Try their General Tsos chicken, and buy their hot chili oil. I love the free tea that you can indulge in at the front of the restaurant while waiting for a take out order. The prices are fair for the flavors and authenticity the restaurant purveys and the best part is that they deliver! You can even place an order and pick up!

Snappy Dragon was recommended to us by a long-time resident of the Sandpoint area when we first moved here. There are good points: We tried the homemade boiled dumplings and they were very tasty. The BBQ pork fried rice was rich with large chunks of pork and could have been a meal on its own. Unfortunately, the General Tsos wasnt quite right and was a little bland. The color of the chicken wasnt the color chicken should be. We ended up getting awful gas from it. No combination meals were offered so for two cups of soup, fried rice, one entree (general tsos) and 10 dumplings we ended up spending nearly $50. I can go to my favorite chinese place and spend under $30 for the same amount or more food. If you can drive the distance, try Johnnys Wok in the Lynnwood/Edmonds area.

I have to say that my experience could have been better. I called in for delivery and was told after giving them my address, name, and phone number that delivery wasnt until 4pm. It was 1pm at the time. I decided to hold off and wait since I was happy with their menu choices. After 3 hours of my stomach growling, I called back and after going through the same steps again, I was told I was outside their delivery area. Can you blame me for being angry?! I could have decided on something else or actually ate something instead of holding off on food that I apparently shouldnt have waited around for. Just looking at the service I got. I have to say that this place isnt worth the trouble of even trying.

The first time I went to Snappy Dragon was within a month after their opening (over 20 years ago). The quality and tastiness of the food has remained consistent over the years. Some of their specialties include jiao-zi (dumplings) and hand made noodles. One of my friends called Snappy "the land of doughy goodness." If you order a noodle dish you must get the hand made noodles! The non-doughy dishes are delicious too. My two favorites are Mongolian Beef and Dry Sauteed String Beans in Black Bean Sauce. Bonus: if you fall in love with some of their sauces you can by a jar/bottle of it to take home.

Wow, this place has gone downhill. I used to eat here in college and it was very good, but tonight was not! Maybe just because they were super busy, but I dont think so... Duck was incredibly salty, indicating way too long in the brine. However they also managed to dry it out, so it must have been cooked way too long as well. The steamed buns were completely dried out and hard to eat. Chow mein noodles were stuck together in clumps. Fried rice was not cooked thoroughly, and the green pepper was almost completely raw. No thanks. Ill be driving the extra few miles to Black Pearl next time...

Vegetable spring rolls are bland, the sweet and sour sauce is the consistency of jello. The vegetable chow mein is mainly just salty noodles and 5 chunks of bell pepper, three pieces of broccoli and I think two strands of lettuce plus some onion and mushrooms. Uhh... Ive eaten chow mein at many different places, including a teriyaki place not much from this restaraunt and there is mass flavor in their sauce which the noodles and vegetables are drenched in. Today was my first time trying this place and I was very disappointed. 2 stars because it was edible just not fulfilling.
