Tried this place recently on a friends recommendation. Dinner consists of soup or salad, an entree, and rice or potatoes or spaetzle. Cuc. salad is awesome! We ordered spaetzle with our dinners but we were not able to get it because the guy who came in wayyyyy after us and took food to go was served the spaetzle instead of us. Sad. We we opted for the potatoes. We ordered the Hunters Chicken and the Stroganoff. We were told dinner was $10.99 per. We were quite stunned, frankly, at the extremely small serving of the entree and the rather larger serving of the potatoes. Dont know if thats because the waitress appeared to be new or what but we were astounded. Food was good but not outstanding. Ordered apple struedel which was excellent but, again, at $3.50 for a piece of struedel about the width of 1.5 inches - expensive. Then when we went to pay, we were charged $11.99 for the dinner! We also had 2 imported beers at $4.50 each. Total for dinner was about $44. Which, by any standard, is certainly enough. When we left - we were still hungry. Well give this place one more try but if things remain the same, it will be a memory.

This place is fantastic! I feel like I have wasted a lot of meals before stumbling upon this restaurant tucked away in the corner of a strip-mall. No doubt, not the most visible location. But, definitely up there with the best food in the Mukilteo/525/Lynwood/Paine Field area! What to expect? 1) A small menu. The owner only prepares 4 main dishes per day and rotates the menu. It can be random what she makes. 2) Quality food. Its the best! Full of flavor I dont have the skill set to describe, but Im addicted to it. 3) Awesome desserts. The owner makes them all. 4) A fantastic selection of imported beer. What to not expect? 1) A big menu with appetizers, filler food, and junk selections. 2) To be rushed through your meal and encouraged to leave the table.

Small portions and overpriced. 43.47$ for 2 entrees and 1 beer. I ordered the stuffed pepper and instead was given a meager cabbage roll accompanied by some old potato dish that was sitting in a heating tray. My brother (his birthday btw the reason we were there) ordered the stroganoff and rice. His stroganoff was not what I know it to usually be, it was literally 5 pieces of meat thrown in a red sauce suspiciously the same as the one on my cabbage roll. The soup was good but the portion size was a ripoff. And then a beer...all this for 43 freaking dollars. The entrees were equivalent to appetizers I get at all other restaurants. I went to try something new with my brother for his birthday and I am sorry but this place is terrible. Didnt even get a receipt btw.

Deep Forest

The place is exactly as I pictured it : small, intimate, warm , with an strong feel of ethnic deli and very yummy food. The owner/cook checked on us 3 times during our dinner , making sure everything was right and indeed it was. They also feature home made deserts and some Easter European groceries and wines. I tried a cake and it was tasty as well. Highly recommended for lunch or a casual dinner.

Disappointed, the reviews online were good and we drove over 100 miles to this place. The food was from yesterday, dry. The menu only had three things on it and they were out of one. The green apple lemonade was cool aid. The pork gulyas was a porkolt made out of dry pork loin. No appetisers. Who ever herd of a Hungarian restaurant that does not have Gulyas or Chicken Paprikas, bad experience!!!

Food here is excellent and entrees have massive amounts of food. I have had both the goulash and schnitzel and I enjoyed both immensely. The seating area is smallish but has never been too overly crowded.so it isnt loud. The staff is friendly, polite and attentive.

We went to try something new on our 3 year anniversary. True bistro experience. A real hidden gem for us. As soon as we walked in, the restaurant smelled good. Extra bonus was the live violin music playing. Food was yummy. We decided we would come again.

I love this place! Id never eaten Hungarian food before so I was a little scared to try it. Wow, everything every time has been incredible. The potatoes are unbelievably delicious. Very generous portions too.

I tried the shepherds pasta. It was very greasy and the vegetables were over-cooked. It tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. The meal was over-priced for the portion size and quality.

The cutest place in town. They dont have a print menu its 3 entrees on a white board plus sides. Feels like your eating at someones house in europe. Verry local. Great feelings all around.
