I live close by so I go there quite regularly. They have good chicken, decent size, unlike PopEyes. Ive always liked their chicken, cant go wrong with original owner of Ezell, right? So thats about the only thing I go in for, their chicken. Their service has always been lacking. Initially, I thought it was a one off thing but the more I go there, the more I noticed the trend. Expect to wait at least 10min to 30min for your chicken. Yes, even if youve phoned in in advance. They either need better management or hire more people. Their sides are mediocre. The mashed potatoes are bland, so is their corn. Their rolls are usually cold or old or something. Today I went in, Ive noticed how much theyve deteriorated. There was only one customer waiting for her chicken but we still had to wait 10 min for a 4 piece chicken. All their sodas are out of order. Their walls are dirty. They took down all the pictures they used to have on the walls. Whats going on with this place? Id hate to see it close down.

Worst heaven sent Ive been too. I was treated poorly and waited over 40 minutes to get my food. The 5 people behind me in line ordered, 3 of them ordering a large original The same thing I ordered, were served before me. I went to the counter each time they called it out and was told to wait, my order wasnt ready yet. Two groups of people that ordered (one before and one right after me) got there food ate it there and left before I received anything. I had to ask for my order to be made and it was undercooked. I wont be returning to this one. The one in lake city is good. Renton is full of "high out of there mind" people. The guy who checked me out could barely function, his eyes were blood shot and he couldnt figure out how to use the card machine. He looked like he smoked a blunt 5minutes before he came to work. NOT COOL! I expect more for how much i paid for my meal.

Im from the Atl...so I know good fried chicken. My wife, who is a native Seattleite, decided to order from here since its the original Ezells. We got a 24 piece, chicken only. While there I got a chance to meet the man Ezell himself. Hes such a humble guy that believes in his product and being a blessing to others. I told him about knowing what good fried chicken tastes like. He told me that I havent tasted the best yet. Im like ok...well see. To make a long story short, I couldnt wait till family dinner time. I had to see what the hype was all about. Let me say the hype was TRUTH. You dont even need hot sauce on the chicken...its that delicious!! If you want the BEST fried chicken in Seattle that has southern flare...make sure to go to Heavens Sent Chicken. They are the real deal!!

Everything tasted like it came out of the Walmart freezer section. We got a three piece spicy white meat meal. The chicken was dry and had so much breading it was hard to find the meat, the coleslaw was really bland and soupy, the bread tasted like Kings Hawaiian, the fries were soggy and had zero salt on them. The restaurant looked run-down and sad. I couldnt tell if it was dirty or just so old it wont ever look clean again without remodeling. The service wasnt as bad as other reviewers complained, the young man taking our order wasnt rude at all, just no frills decent. Overall, were definitely not going back. You get better quality chicken for cheaper a block away at the grocery store deli.

The chicken tenders really didnt have any flavor. They really tasted like bagged chicken tenders that you can get from Walmart. The fries didnt have any seasoning on them either. The cashier gave me salt packets to put on my own fries. I honestly felt like i was sitting in a resturaunt in North Korea somewhere. On the wall the owner has two huge pictures of him and his wife. Which IMO isnt a problem. But tone it down and put some of the money into your restaurant. And for gods sake season your food. Im from the south so the chicken here again was horrible. and i know good chicken when i taste it lol. Ohh and they should hire a cashier who actually has some type of personality. NOT IMPRESSED!

It wasnt my first time ordering here. The process isnt the smoothest. Watched the guy in front of me get pissed for lack of attention and walk out. I struck it out for about 10 min. before she acknowledged me. Tried to order and was informed that they were out of fried chicken and biscuits. Not a single piece in the house, nothing in the fryers. It would be about a half an hour if I wanted to order some. I thanked her appropriately. Popeyes got my business for the night. I would have dealt with this directly with Heaven Sent but they dont have a way to contact them on their web site.

This is the REAL Ezells!! Heaven Sent is the current business of Mr. Ezell Stephens - the real fried chicken genius behind the original Ezells AND Heaven Sent. Anyone who doesnt know that isnt from here...or doesnt care about fried chicken! Excellent gizzards and livers, catfish. Decent sides. Great rolls and desserts - we appreciate the 7up cake! Theres only enough space in this branch for about 15 people, but most folks are getting it to go anyway! Be forewarned: they check your ID if you use a credit or debit card here. They will turn you away without it.

Place produces good food, bit its pricey. Chicken strips are great and fried chicken tasty. There is little flexibility in the menu. For example they have regular and specialty sides. Mac and cheese is a specialty side. I wanted a combo that came with 2 sides and I wanted Mac and cheese. Because it was a specialty side, I couldnt get it. They also wouldnt let me pay the difference. I had to order it separately. Also they charge 35 cents for refills while you are there. They really nickel and dime you here.

If you want good fried chicken that dont taste like out from the fridge or from mass production (e.g. KFC), this is the place to go. What I like about this place is that the owner actually shows up to work here sometime and he is FUNNY. Its easier to call in to order to-go and pickup. Because sometime ordering spicy one could take forever. The space is small so make sure to plan ahead of you want to eat in. I always order the 3 pieces spicy original and get the roll. The roll is our favorite actually.

I know the owner Ezell Stephens. I have longed to taste his original recipe for southern fried chicken done right because I was the designer of the first Ezells store in Seattle back in 1985-86 The chicken is excellent and the menu is indicative of his southern black culture. Youll find no better cultural-cusine in the region. The prices are affordable for most everyone. Thats "Inclusion (cp)" according to my scientific research findings, soon to be published. THANKS EZELL!

I liked Ezells chicken back in the day. But now the flavors are off, chicken was dry, breading was bland, sides were heavy and not flavorfull. Only thing we liked was the dinner roll. Customer service was novice, i.e. hired a high school student and the worker was still learning how to interact with customers. We used to drive 14 milles to get his chicken, but now we dont even want to come back. I really hope it could return to how it used to be.
