This was a pleasant surprise! Were not terribly familiar with Hawaiian food, but the people at the counter were helpful with suggestions. We ended up with both a kalua pork and a mixed BBQ platter. The servings were HUGE. The pork really shone - it didnt look particularly special, but it turned out to be super tender, smokey and spiced deliciously. The combo of the pork and cabbage worked really nicely. You order at the counter and pick up when your number is called. Theyve got several different soy blends and sauces to the side - you can either put some into a little container or bring the whole bottle to your table. If I were to have one nitpick about the place, it would be that their menu (above the registers) is a just little cluttered and difficult to read for a noob. There arent many explanations of the dishes, so I recommend either checking the website beforehand, or grabbing a paper menu to peruse and figure out what youd like. Otherwise... enjoy!

OMG, 3 days i was so hungry for some hawaiian food... went to l&l in the lakewood town center and got me a kalua pork w/ cabbage and my gf got beef curry... went home to eat it, smelt kinda weird but i thought it was just the smokey favor... the onions were terribly over burnt, the pork was cooked great but the kalua juice was dark brown like it was cooked 2 weeks ago or something.(beef curry was great tho) well i finished it all, and couple hrs later my stomach started hurting really bad, I will never eat there cause there food isnt fresh!!!! go to federal way or something... and to the owner... Hire a decent cook!!!, not one that looks "da kine" for you 1st timers just stick to teriyaki! Oh and if your wondering, i had a upset stomach and my gf had the runs for almost 2 days. so u know theres something wrong with the food!

I have never been a fan of Macoroni salad until I tried it here. It was really good. But that was a month ago. Today..I purchased an extra side of it. I guess they changed the recipe up...it had carrots and ONIONS!!!! ALOT of onions...I can sill taste them. I hate them. Your salad is good without them...at least to me. What about kids and people who may be on dates...or allergic? This was a shock..but I guess your customers requested it. It was perfect without it.....

This was fanTAStic! We are new to the area and we like to try places we havent been before. I saw this place and was curious about it, so my family and I came back for lunch a few days later. It was GREAT! The employees were friendly, and the food was delicious! My husband and I got 2 different dishes and it was plenty to share with our two small children as well. We were all pleased and already cant wait to go back and try more!

I lived in Hawaii for years and now live in the Midwest. I was in town and saw this place and couldnt of been more excited. I ordered way more food than one person could eat because I had to have it all again. Wow it took me right back. Great job all around! The mac salad really put it over the top. Also appreciated the local music playing.

For a chain, L&L is extremely consistent. Ive been to four different locations and theyve all been solid. The Lakewood location is a bit bigger than the Tacoma Mall, plus I feel the staff here is better. Theyre always friendly and the food comes out quick. I just wish theyd let me tip via card. Their receipts only let you sign.

Been meaning to write a review about this place. Anyways, they have great (not authentic, but still good) food. We are regulars here and tried almost all there food besides the burgers (its kinda weird to go to a Hawaiian restaurant and order burgers). Overall the food is good, customer service is good. Recommend this place.

I love L&L BBQ, but the location that I go to (Lakewood) always seems to serve burnt meat. I dont think that they clean their grill frequently enough. I havent gone to eat there in a few months because of the last few times that they served burnt food. If you clean your grill more often, I would love to come back!!

Never had a problem with the food or the service. Always good flashbacks for a taste of home in the islands and always greeted with a smile and friendly service. Sit in or carry out, its like a home away from home. Just missing the salty sweey trade wind breezin through.

Only second time eating Hawaiian Food. I ordered the Kalua and Lau Lau combo. The Kalua was really good, the Lau Lau I didnt care to much for. Not saying it was bad being it was my 1st time having it. Kimchi and macaroni salad was pretty good as well.

First time going here. Service was awesome! Wasnt sure what to get so the girl told me to try the shredded pork and cabbage. Amazing!! Macaroni salad is also delicious. Definitely recommend coming here if you havent already.

Never open on time. The staff is too busy looking at Facebook or talking amongst each other to take care of customers. Typical Hawaiian attitude. But what more can you expect from uneducated people.
