Disappointing. I took the family here for an early Saturday dinner. When we walked in (we were the only patrons in the restaurant), the two staff members present glared at us like we had just interrupted them and didnt want us there. This was our first time at Ikonos, so we werent quite sure how it worked - there was a menu displayed on a big screen TV that was difficult to read. We stood there squinting for a bit with nobody saying anything or offering to help us. Finally, I broke the ice and asked if they had a paper menu. That got things moving, and we were eventually successful in ordering the Ikonos Meal (chicken and lamb souvlaki), the Gyro dinner, and dolmathes. The food arrived in about 10-15 minutes. The souvlaki was tender and mild (nearly unspiced), and the portions were miniscule - it would be generous to claim that either the chicken or lamb portion was more than 2.5 ounces each - and came without any kind of sauce. The salad was quite good, as were the french fries and dolmathes, but the gyro was similarly stingy on the meat. I guess the small portion size is their secret to being healthy - compared, say, to Mr. Ds Greek Deli in Seattle, Ikonos gives you about half the meat for the same or higher price. The atmosphere was a little awkward - as we ate, we caught the staff staring at us several times, and not necessarily in a friendly or attentive way. My wife thought they were just having a bad day, but I took it a little more personally, as they were cheerful and smiling with the other customers who trickled in after us. BTW just a warning to parents - there are no high chairs.

Went there for the first time, looking to try something new and different. We were 3rd in line, no one else in the restaurant. Ordered a beef gyro, chicken ceazar salad, fries and 1 coke paid $35.00 which was shocking. Please note the time is 2.41 pm. Sat inside for about 20 minutes and our fries were served and we were told our other food would be right out. We started nibbling on the fries, which were very good. After another 10-15 minutes we decided to move outside where we finished off the fries. About 3.20pm my salad was served but no gyro in sight. Salad was disappointing, single layer of greens on a paper plate with some chicken on top. Started nibbling on it while waiting on the gyro. I didnt finish my salad... not very good. After another 10 minutes, my husbands gyro appeared and it was cold, beef was chunky not shaved, swimming in feta with hardly any sauce on it. He was not able to finish it. We finally left around 4 pm. Needless to say that we were very disappointed and wont be back. Seriously considered walking over to Happy at the Bay teriyaki for a meal.

The food is incredible and the people that work there are amazing! We recently moved to the area and got an ad for this restaurant. My boyfriend and I were excited because we love Mediterranean food, and its hard to find good Greek! We went to go try it out this morning and WOW! When we got there we let them know it was our first time and without missing a beat they excitedly told us about some of their top recommendations. We decided to try the traditional gyro and we were not let down!! The balance of flavor and texture is perfect and leaves you ready for another bite. It was very rich but not overwhelming at all and the tzatziki sauce was perfect! It wasnt only the food though, the people that work there are a pleasure. They clearly really care about the business and value their customers. It was nice to see so much care in everything they did. We will definitely be back again soon!

Ive been there a few times in the past, and it was okay. After awhile, whenever I feel like needing to be refueled, I go to the Teriyaki place next store instead. I stopped going to Ikonos for a while, and soon later, I had completely forgotten about the place. The food there was okay, but it was nothing particularly memorable/interesting about it. However, until recently, I had a chance to revisit the restaurant. The place is no longer what I remembered. Unlike how it was before: The employees now are friendly, and now the foods are good. The foods are so good, in fact, I can no longer not think about them whenever I get little empty stomached. It is a change for good, and I look forward frequenting the restaurant more in the coming years.

My wife and I just ate here for the first time and let me tell you, they went above and beyond! They gave us recommendations for what to eat and were helpful with our questions. For about $30, we got a big caesar salad, plate of fries, a huge gyro, and a plate full of slouvaki and rice. It was all so delicious, the food itself was enough to keep us coming back. On top of that, though, the customer service was awesome. Anthony came and checked on us multiple times and gave us a free Baklava to go for it being our first time there. They had a great energy and the restaurant was cozy. The outside seating was an added bonus! We will be forever customers thanks to Anthony and the other staff at Ikonos Real Greek Slouvaki. Way to go guys!

Great gyros, Batman! The food was delicious (I got the gyros combo with lamb and beef and a side of Greek fries), and the man making it clearly takes well deserved pride in his work. The portion size was perfect for a man with a large appetite like me, and the price (around $13) was really decent, given the quality of the food. My only criticism would be the cashiers lack of energy. Give that boy some coffee! Otherwise, he was friendly, and seemed to know his job well. He made a great recommendation up selling those Greek fries. Im glad I didnt miss those. I dont get to eat out much, so when I do, I want to make sure that the money Im spending is spent well. Ikonos doesnt disappoint.

Came here with my little brother and ordered two traditional (beef and lamb) gyros and "Greek frys" (waffle frys with feda cheese and a green dipping sauce). The manager informed me he had leased the place out for 9 months, but that he was back to reestablish its reputation. We were given free lemonade, rice, hummus directly on our gyros and seasoned non pitted olives. The food was good and got a interesting commentary on I believe Armenian culture. I also enjoyed the painting of Greek villas on the walls and the music too. Had a good time. Would definitely come back, but maybe wouldnt order so much food next time.

The best gyro ever!!! I have tried gyros all over the state and country and this Gig Harbor location can never be beat! I have searched for a comparable gyro and have not found one. A lot of places do not include the delicious cucumber, crisp lettuce, and creamy feta like they do. My favorite is the Ikonos "Traditional" Gyro. I would eat it every day if I could. This is my favorite place to eat. The people are absolutely generous. They treat you like family. Love, love, love this place! Thank you, Moses, Ibrahim, and Anthony! It was a pleasure meeting you all! Go to Ikonos, NOW!
