Disappointing!!! We dine at the Freeland Cafe every week as a group. Today, we were too large a group to sit in the cafe, so we headed back to the bar. The waiter, Mike was very impatient with us and didnt seem to want to wait on us. At one point, he put the coffee pot down on the table and just walked away. He told us we should have called ahead because we were a table of eight. We often dine with 6 - 8 people and have NEVER been told to call ahead. The women dont seem to have a problem handling a large group (Mary and Ursula...and Kari in the bar) but, this guy said they couldnt separate the check because there were more than six of us. Funny, every other time weve been able to have separate checks. Mikes attitude was really poor and in the future well go on our regular morning for breakfast or select a different restaurant. Wed hate to put Mike the bartender out!

Its really a shame that the only cafe in town employes such awful servers. A businesses staff reflects its self. The food is borderline good. The only option around for a lot of people when they want a breakfast while in or around Freeland. The staff can never present more than a sour expression when dealing with patrons. Customers are the ones paying your bills and treating them like second class citizens is a pretty sad way to go about business. This is a place specifically for people they "know". If you are not well known they wont treat you like they should treat every patron. Be prepared for less than great service and snarky attitudes. If thats up your alley than this is the perfect breakfast spot for you!

This is based on only one visit, but I took my daughter here for breakfast and service was friendly and very fast. I thought my pancake tasted really good, and I sampled my daughters French toast, which was also very tasty. The bacon side order for $3 consisted of 4 big strips. Our total bill was $21.56, a bargain. This isnt fancy but it was good, down-home diner food. The atmosphere is just what Id hoped for too - old school and cozy. And a lot of locals in there knew each other, which was fun to see.

Went in for breakfast on Friday and it was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had at a restaurant. My waitress and the cook were in a heated arguement to the point that they were yelling and swearing in front of the customers. Slamming plates and anything else that they could. I received my check before my food came out. I paid my check and walked out before my food arrived. These two women are old enough to know better and the last thing I need is someones drama while im eating breakfast.

Beware this place is not kid friendly and everyone is very rude and you feel rushed. It doesnt matter if you order in or out the waitresses or very rude. I think if this place hired new waitresses it would be a great place to eat.The only reason its busy is because there isnt very many option in Langley. Food is gross and we will not be eating there again. Worst place ever hands down. I never take time to write about something unless it really bothers me.

I seem to be coming to Whidbey a lot to visit family and friends, and this is a place I love going to. After (or before) a quick stop at Payless, we come here to grab a bite to eat. Everyone is friendly and the food is absolutely great. Its a good place for small groups of people. It also seems like a lot of Island locals come here, which is always a great sign.

We got promot service with great warm welcomes. Waitress was friendly and accomidating. Checking up on us when necessary. Food was delicious with ingredients that made it pop. We ordered the egg muffin sandwich and an omlette with bacon, cheese and veggies. All food was delicious. Coffee was alright but overall great experience for a last minute trip!

We stopped by after a day of exploring Fort Casey and the Admiralty lighthouse with our granddaughters. We were tired and hungry. Found them on a Google search. Wow, what a gem of a place. The portions were huge, the price was reasonable and our waitress (Ashlee H.) was terrific. I would drive from Sammamish just for the blueberry pancakes.

This place is awesome! Little golden nugget in the middle of nowhere just off the beaten path. We walked in 30 minutes to closing time and they took us with without complaint and a smile on their face. They even make their own Thousand Island dressing. Food was great, service superb. We will return should we ever end up out here again

The crab cakes were very good. Calamari appetizer was excellent as well. Just moved to the island and I will be back. Julia was my waitress, and did a impeccable job, and shes kinda cute. My typo. The review I submitted was for Charmers Bistro. Sorry about screwing it.

We have visited quite frequently over the 20+ years living on Whidbey Island. All the meals are great. The employees are always friendly . The beer is always cold. Mixed drinks are great. We have Never had to wait to be seated, and they serve breakfast all day.

Order dinner special: spaghetti dinner. Only spaghetti sauce over pasta but no meat also french bread. Its poor. Too much water soak on pasta on plate. Its too much for price. I dont agree this menu prices. Breakfast is great meal and good coffee. Thumb

Great food at very low prices, especially when compared to other places in the area, which tend to be rather high and often have a snooty attitude about them. This place is for pretty much anyone though. Great breakfast food. I think they serve it all day.

I took my daughter there for and afternoon date. We sat at the bar and had Shirley Temples and fish and chips. Everything was great! She even got to pick a piece of candy from the candy bowl behind the bar when she finished her meal. Great date!

Always busy, with a friendly staff. Lots of regulars here, which tells you about the quality of their food. Their breakfast range from Loco Mico, to omelette and pancakes. I have only been there for breakfast, and have always enjoyed the food.

I love this small town cafe! The food is good, and the staff is friendly. The bar in back seems to be the local hot spot. The Pancakes are delicious! Dont be afraid to chat up the locals, some of them are actually quite friendly.

Pop machine was down. Restrooms were closed and food was bland. Had the Chili stuffed Baked Potato and it was covered with a ridiculous amount of large chopped onion. Milk shake was overpriced as it had no taste to it.

Good omelettes. The food is on the greasy side and the servers are only friendly to the people they know but the food is pretty good and there arent many places to eat in Freeland so this is a pretty good option.

Stopped here while on a lighthouse tour of Puget Sound. We tried the fish and chips and the Ceasar Combo ( clams and mussels in a white wine butter sauce). They were both AMAZING! Well worth the slight detour.
