Id give it three stars, but Ive enjoyed the breakfast many times (the coffee is great), so Im bumping it up to four. That said, the dinner was disappointing. My clams were swimming in a pool of oily broth that should have been skimmed before serving. The crab meat in my husbands crepe was broken down from over cooking/tossing (its a tender meat that should be handled gently). This is the Puget Sound, you cant get away with mishandled seafood here. Ive had a pork shank here before that was tasty. The cheese-stuffed bacon-wrapped dates were good, but that combo is so tasty that youd have to try hard to mess that up. The waitstaff is good and the decor is soothing, but they lost a star when, at 6pm, the music was cranked and a dining room full of adults over 35 had to start talking over bad pop music. It felt like wed just been transported to a Red Robin. If I wanted to listen to obnoxious pop music Id expect to find myself bellied up to a bar with lots of crazy kitsch nailed to the walls while people yelled over each other about how good their plate of sliders were. Not sitting at a candlelit table with a glass of wine and a cloth napkin on my lap. Ill be back for breakfast, but when Im looking for a place with good food and wine this one is off of the list. The menu prices were decent for the portions offered.

I recently found my way to 909 Coffee and Wine in Burien after my wifes yoga class down the street. The menu looked promising, but I am frequently disappointed by restaurants. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade at some extremely high quality dinner houses and am disappointed with poor or sloppy execution and low quality ingredients. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by 909 Coffee and Wine. The food was very well executed, surprising reasonable in price and really hit the spot. Perhaps I thought the food would be sub par because it was in Burien or perhaps I expected it to be more coffee shop/wine bar than restaurant; however from the bread served to salads and main courses everything was very well prepared and used high quality ingredients. My braised lamb shank was quite large, but meltingly tender with a very flavorful bed of french green lentils, and my wifes crab stuffed crepes with creamy tomato sauce were great, too. I only wish we had stayed to have dessert also!

Why do I love this place so much? It might be because I have a blast everytime I go here. Or maybe its because the food and wine is delicious? Or maybe its because the coffee tastes so yummy. Im not exactly sure why i LOVE this place so much, but its the exact place I want to go every time I want to relax with my girlfriends. 909 is even great when I take my kids in. Theres something for everyone, the food is so yummy, and even though its a bit pricey sometimes -- the experience makes it worth it. Well done, people, well done.

Service is always pretty slow like most cafes serving food. Food has been good except I recently had a fritata and it was less than satisfying which was extremely disappointing since I spoke so highly of it to the person I went with. My service experience the last time was also underwhelming. I had to flag down someone to take our order. It took forever for our meals (apparently they were down a cook) and an older white couple who arrived after us and ordered after us received their food before us and we ordered the same thing.

Have been going here for a long time. It the perfect combination of superb coffee shop and full-service restaurant and bar, with wonderful food and a great selection of wine and booze. The atmosphere is wonderful, and their outdoor seating area is just the best in warmer weather. They even have an array of heaters to keep the outdoor fun going into the Fall. But, its the staff, the staff that have kept me coming back here year after year. Theyre jut the nicest bunch of people you could meet. I just love this place.

One of my favorite places to go until recently. Really great staff, comfortable place but theyve made one bad decision that makes me wonder what other bad decisions are undetected: The bread that is placed on the table is shredded and the crust is soft from being stored in plastic. In other words, its duck food. This might have been acceptable 40 years ago in the Wonderbread days but now that there are so many excellent bakers out there, serving garbage like this is just not acceptable.

Our 1st time there...food was pretty good but the prices were on the high side for lil ol Burien (we are not in downtown Seattle!) But it was tie service that may keep us from going back. Older woman with short dark hair..she didnt smile..she didnt even welcome us after we told her it was our 1st time there. It was uncomfortable because it seemed like such a warm atmosphere. Eh...not sure well take our visiting guests to 909.

Had the Bootcamp 2 breakfast. Delicious and a nice size and price. Nice, well arranged place. Steady crowd, a lot of whom seemed to be regulars. Servers were friendly and efficient. Coffee smelled wonderful. Will definitely have to go back and try some. Definitely would recommend it unless youre a meat and potatoes kind of person. Then the menu might be a bit limited.

The coffee was great! The food was flavorful but the french toast came out cold and eggs Benedict did not come with hollandaise!?! Or any sauce for that matter. The waitress was rude when I asked and the hostess/busser literally had a casual conversation with the bartender gossiping while we waited for her to set a table for us in an already pretty empty restaurant.

Love the food, wine, and coffee, but not a big fan of how expensive it is. Even happy hour costs more than you think it would. All of that said, however, if you have the money to dine here, it is a wonderful experience. Great atmosphere, great service! :) Id go back if I werent paying for grad school right now.

We had Ambrose as our server and he was great. My friend and I each ordered a glass of wine with our dinner. We ordered the 909 flat iron steak. It was delicious! Also, you need to ask for bread when you come here. They dont automatically give it to you.

I was in from out of town, sat at the bar and had a great meal with a smooth Tempranillo. Chris was excellent with food recommendations and I met a super nice outgoing local couple. I will be back.

Perfectly poached eggs and loved the tomato jam on the Caprese Benedict,...generous portion mimosas and truly the very nicest people serving our group. We came from Colorado and hope to be back.

The food is consistently delicious, and the service staff is polite and attentive. I find the coffee cups mechanically awkward -- large, low, and small handles.
