We were going to have a tea for about 14. I called and left message, no call back. I called again, left message. Finally a couple of days I get a call back. I explain we have about 14 but the numbers may change and I will call before and confirm exact numbers. I was told "you do know our room closes at 4pm" I stated that I didnt and would it be ok to stay a little later, she said ok. I explained we didnt want fish but there were some who still wanted the high tea. She told me to get the noon tea and she would throw in the sorbet. I later learned they are open till 6pm. My numbers changed by 2 so I called, no call back. Couple days later, I called again, left message and no call back so we proceeded to the tea on Saturday. They were very rude and curt with us, said the sorbet wasnt available but we could purchase for extra $1.50. They argued with us at every turn. We were told that the noon tea could be done with sorbet. We ended up having to get the high tea plus they added another $1.50 for the sorbet and now those who thought they were paying $22.00 their bill was now $30. We were also told that even though each, repeat, each of us paid for a high tea we could only have two tiers on the table for 9 high teas and 4 pots of tea. This was so wrong as each of us paid to get what the menu promised. We were all upset. The waitress argued with us and took plates from a couple of ones that wanted to finish but she took them anyway. I have been to teas, love them. The room is beautiful, the bread stale and the lemon bars were gross. Our teas usually bring in around $300 a table. We will never, never go to this tea room again. I will go to Sumner, Lakewood or Port Orchard. Never here again.

My previous review was 5 stars -- this one is 3 because of the abysmal service we received our last time there. This is an extremely charming place, the food is mostly delicious, and the people are lovely. This time: once seated, it took 20 minutes before anyone even approached our table with water. Another long wait before we got to pick our tea -- then we sat for another 15 minutes before having to pick tea again because the server forgot what we originally chose. After another extended wait we were given our tea (excellent), followed 15 minutes later by High Tea -- all delicious, except for one if the small cakes which was stale and disgusting. The whole thing took over 2 hours and we left very disappointed (because previous experiences had been so lovely). We may chose a different place next time...

The food at Olive Branch Cafe and Tea Room was delicious, and the experience was absolutely wonderful!! My friend and I came to celebrate her birthday last Friday, and we couldnt have had a better time! The atmosphere is so very nice, and the beautiful piano music being played by a very accomplished pianist, made the entire experience all the more wonderful! On top of all of that, one of the most wonderful thing about our time there was getting acquainted with the owner and her staff - they were all so warm and welcoming. My friend and I felt as though we found new kindred spirit friends who well look forward to seeing whenever were back at the Olive Branch Cafe. Our experience was the best, and it will be a cherished memory that will last a lifetime!!

I couldnt be more pleased. This place is top notch. I had my two children and my mom with me. My mom loved the decor and my kids were absolutely smitten by the piano player, bubbles, and the kids tea room where they could try on hats and love the dolls. I personally was impressed with the service and how they made me feel at home right from the start. I loved that I could go to the tea cabinet and pick out my own tea, which was delicious. The food was great as well. What a great lunch!

We vacationed in Tacoma from Santa Barbara CA after being away for some years. On September 12th we visited the Freight house and were greatly pleased to visit the Olive Branch. Great service, very friendly, one of a kind Tea Room. Highly recommended. AND, what a surprise to find one of the staff and I grew up only a few blocks away from each other in a Chicago neighborhood! Cant wait to return.

I really hope construction is completed soon around here, because this place is amazing and I dont want them to lose business over parking! I went in for the first time and was completely amazed! This place is stunningly beautiful, when you go you enjoy the entire experience. Its almost like stepping back in time. The staff were all so friendly, and the tea was delicious. I cant wait to go back!

The staff was amazing, they have staff members that match any personality type that they serve. Some were down-to-earth and laughed and joked with the kids, then others came and made sure I was comfortable, very kid friendly, relaxing atmosphere! Its amazing, you can have a business meeting at the same time your children have their own tea party! Cant wait to go again!

This place is great! My girlfriend and I came in 30 minutes before closing and they still accommodated us, with excellent service and amazing food. We ordered the BLT and Turkey Bacon Croissant, they were delicious and we got a free cup of tea for our first time visiting! Definitely going to recommend this place!

Great service and experience. Our daughter loves it so much here, she had a tea party for her birthday. They provided 8 girls with a semi-private space with finger sandwiches, pastries, and tea. We love to visit often.
