Went there after reading reviews on Google and it was going to be dinner time. Asked a guy in the rest room about whether he ate here frequently and if there was something he would recommend among others - Everything is good. You cannot go wrong!" he declared. Excited to try it out, we waited by the front desk. Wait staff was bustling around, but did not really seem to pay attention to us. After about 5-7 minutes, of waiting for initial attention and then another couple of minutes for table to be prepared, we sat down. Restaurant was perhaps about 40% of capacity so could not understand the delay. Asked our waitress for recommendations and ordered the Dragon & Phoenix (D n P) based on her recommendation and Five Flavor Beef from reading Google reviews. D&P was about edible, but little else - had to doctor it up with soy sauce and chili oil. The 5 flavor beef was better and I would give it 3 stars. Probably 1.5 stars for the D n P. Service was pretty poor on the whole without much of a smile. Ambiance was nothing special and it was your basic strip mall Chinese outfit. In summary food and service disappointing, ambiance nothing special. Surprised to find Google reviews average a 4.6.

Im originally from Iowa. Been in Puget Sound 26 yrs. I dont like HOT FOOD. Spices dont make the food taste better for me, just covers the ingrediants there. Love the food here. Been a customer for over 20 yrs. Some of these reviewers with 1 stars are biased. Funny how they ordered something wt out expextations measured from other restruants? Should have built-up experience. They dont sound like it. Have no responsible palette or class! Im a Big fan of "Happy Family" wt beef chichen,& shrimp in brown mandarain sauce (I cant have chinese pork but love bacon wrapped scallops, and several other main menu items. Im In Lovewt Fried rice with fried cut up egg and main meat added. I also cant fail to love the Fried Cream cheese WonTons! I getem everytime. Good family place...Outstanding sea water fish tank for all to see. Kids love it. Separate Bar area, with several Large TVs...Close by 10pm...and on Mondays. Some holiday schedules they are closed for extended time for family/employee travel/vacations. Heavy nights are Fri and Sat. Sat. Opening is late near 3pm otherwise lunch time normal other days. Wow... Im so disappointed guys I came here.. With my husband tonight feb 24 2016 .. Yes it may have been busy.. At first soon it died down mostly busy from to go orders .. After being seated right by the door to hear others complain about their to go orders that are wrong.. The waiter tells us the its going to be 20 mins. For our appetizers to come I myself or bacon wrap shrimp my husband chicken skewers.. WHICH WERE RAW!!!! Yes RAW ... So I caution any one who orders their food there make sure they cook their chicken all the way.. Not only that .. They didnt even comp us for the raw chicken that thy served. Ok .. Sadly my dish was actually ok I order sizzling garlic Chicken.. Man horrible start and horrible finish.. Disappointed 100%

I was so satisfied with everything here:)!!!! The waiter, an Asian middle aged man without glasses was awesome, he was very honest, empathetic and was nice to talk to:) the food came really fast, like really, and it was yummy, the waiter recommended me tiger pork instead of sweet and sour and it wasnt like that was more expensive, the amount is a lot, that we took home a meal, we got a fortune cookie, and there is complimentary hot tea!! oh and not to forget the interior design is elegant is cultural and fantastic. Everything was great here. Im so satisfied.

Our favorite place to go eat as a family.. Fathers day, mothers day, someones birthday... they make room for our large family and are just the sweetest people ever! Honestly.. we look forward to going to eat at Manderin Kitchen! Our kids love going there as well. They have amazing food, everything is always very clean, it by far is our favorite place to eat. My parents live in West Seattle, sister is in Burien and we live in Maple Valley. This is where we go to meet up to have family dinners. I highly recommend this place!

I love every kind of Chinese cuisine...and Mandarin Kitchen is a really great example of Americanized Old School Chinese food. Excellent Sweet & Sour Chicken, Egg Fu Yung, Beef & Broccoli, BBQ Pork, Fried Chicken Wings, etc... Prices are very reasonable, about $10 average for entrees. Service is good for dining in. We usually get our food to go and they do a nice job with packing everything up. This is located near Des Moines Marina, in a 1960s style Chinese restaurant. If you want some good Almond Chicken - go here!

Really great food. We have been craving a great Chinese place near us in Burien and have been repeatedly disappointed. Mandarin Kitchen did not disappoint. We got the dinner special for two and were able to try a bit of many things (4 specials to choose from). Everything was fresh and super tasty. It all had great flavor without being too salty. The service was incredibly fast and friendly. Well be back...... and probably soon.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious food, in fact best Chinese food on the south side as far as Im concerned. Not a ton of parking (a decent amount), but there is street parking across the street. Perfect for a date or small group, I have not been here with a larger group. Most things are served family style. Also close to the waterfront, so there is a nice place to walk afterwards. This place is a gem.

I called the restaurant to see if they deliver, and the lady, who happen to pick up the phone said that she wasnt sure if we have a driver today. She didnt even inquire further about whether there was a delivery driver . I have order some at that particular restaurant a few times , and gave them a thumbs up, however after this experience thumbs down.

Delicious food thats always fresh will delight the whole family accompanied by the attentive and friendly staff! This has been the favorite dinner place of my family since I needed to use the high chairs here. The food is classic and always tasty. The hot and sour soup is my favorite and it is thick, not watered down. I cant get enough of their menu!

Their food is always awesome. This is probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. Delivery is ok, but I always recommend eating here. I have tried several other places, and everyone else is lacking in service & quality. Pros: Good, Fast, & Fresh... Cons: Delivery is limited, and they once forgot the sauce for my s&s chicken. Best American style Chinese food in King County outside Seattle. Genuinely courteous and professional/punctual service. Decor put together very well, they really do the best they can with what they have. Went there yesterday with my gf and ordered from a fair priced lunch menu with great options.

Great food! I loved the honey walnut prawns and everything else I tried. They were very accommodating for our large group and my small children. My only complaints would be the difficult parking lot and no changing table in the restroom. Otherwise, this is my new favorite Chinese restaurant!
