Amy Finds Greatness!
Where to begin- The very first time I arrived at Barrel Mountain brewing was exceptional. (Cozy rustic environment and friendly staff) The hummus plate was absolutely delicious and comes with all the perfect accompaniments. I then took my husband here for the second time and we ordered the steak and cheese sandwich plate. Again, barrel mountain delivered with a mouthwatering hoagie filled with perfectly medium rare steak and overflowing with delicious cheese sided with crispy homemade fries. At this point I felt as though I finally found heaven somewhere within the Vancouver area. Unfortunately, my heaven was short-lived. Weve visited BMB three times since and the inconsistency has completely killed it for me. We ordered the steak and cheese sandwich plate once more and the steak was completely over done and the french fries were under done and soggy. Feeling as though we needed to give BMB another shot, we returned. Ordering a burger and again the steak and cheese sandwich plate, which this time had about half of the cheese we received the first time (MUCH SMALLER) and once again soggy underdone french fries. My children ordered food as well. We wanted to see what the childrens plates had to offer. The macaroni and cheese is very underseasoned but overall decent. As for my son, he didnt receive as good of luck ordering as a sister did. He chose the quesadilla kids dish. The quesadilla had absolutely no cheese in it and the tiny triangles wear black on the bottom in which they hid (or failed to notice or remake) because they put the non-burnt side face up. I did try it to make sure that what I was seeing was correct by tasting. We did not complain. We love the stuff. The beer is great as well! Its such a shame as one expects consistency. You go back to restaurants because you fall in love with a dish. Im not sure if the kitchen staff is the problem or? But I recommend barrel Mountain Brewing take a good look at their consistency in their plates before delivering to tables. I believe they need to set a standard and stay by it. Every dish should remain the same. The same amount of ingredients, cooking technique, and plating. Again, (sometimes) a wonderful experience.

One of the best new local restaurants in Battle Ground! The Food is great and the presentation was even better. The staff was friendly and fun. They were on top of everything, I never had to ask for napkins, water, or refills on my drink. It had a fun bar and grill type atmosphere for younger people, with lots of gorgeous women, but it was very family friendly at the same time. It was just as easy for the kids to dance and have fun as it was the adults. They had a good Happy Hour selection that runs until 6, with Happy Hour staples like fish tacos and wings, as well as some things unique to Barrel Mountain. I ordered wings for a starter. They had great sauce and were cooked differently than most places. It was almost as if they threw them in the deep fryer after they cooked them, to make for a slightly crispy outside, which was quite delicious. For a main I had the fish and chips, the halibut was very fresh and cooked perfectly, and the tartar sauce was the best I have ever had. That being said, when I saw them bring out a burger I wished I had ordered differently. I will be coming back. All of this being said I would like to see a make your own burger option on the menu(If there is an option for this I didnt see it and I apologize ahead of time), and I would like to see some kind of fresh baked chocolate dessert of some kind, like a lava cake or a hot brownie. Keep up the good work!

This local establishment is creating some good food and drinks. They have really captured the essence of turning your passion (brewing) into an opportunity! The burgers have been good though a little salty for me. The Philly steak sandwich was full of big bites of mouth watering steak. The shoestring fries are exactly what you want. The lunch portion of mac-n-cheese begs you to come back for The dinner portion. The salads are exceptional. The decor is rugged playing off the "state park" theme. The couple of times Ive been I found the staff support friendly and the service exceptional. It does however take awhile for the food to come. Probably not a big deal for most Barrel Mountainers since you probably came to enjoy what is on tap. Prices for food are in the $9-12 range.

I know everybody at my table loved this place - so I feel bad for the fact that Im probably the only one that will review them. I honestly cant even quote the eclectic and sort of funky ingredients that they put on my burger and our fries. Odd cheeses, Thai peanut sauce, beats...I mean they are creative here. My wife would probably give this place a 10 out of 5 - but I was not into it. I cant tell you they "did it right and I just didnt like it" either - it was honestly just kind of gross. If I went back, Id go way more basic and stay away from the funky stuff. Hopefully I get a chance to go back and change this review - but for now...this one visit is all I have to go off of.

I Ordered one of the most expensive salads, it came with a little dollop cup of dressing that was only 1/2 full, so I used it and only got through half my salad. I asked the waitress if I could have a half more of the small cup for my salad and she said " I cant do that". I said "but you only gave me half a cup to start and I need more dressing, I only need 1/2 more". She said we are not allowed to give you half, but I can give you a whole small cup?" I thought how strange, so I said ok. When I got the bill, she charged me for the dressing. "Are You Kidding Me!" The salad was already very expensive. Get a grip Barrel Mountain in Battle Ground if you want to stay in Business.

I really wanted to give a better review here, with the cool ambiance and friendly hosts. But the reason for three stars was due to the fact that the beer that I had there was very disappointing. I had the pale ale which was lacking in body and the finish tasted something like soap. I wanted another beer just to get the taste out of my mouth. I hope the other beers are better, because there is allot of expectation for breweries so near to portland, no matter what size they are. One small additional thing, I had their stinky rose fries and it tasted pretty good, but o would tweak the name if I were them. I dont think you want the word "stinky" in your menu.

My husband and I enjoyed a great dinner tonight at Barrel Mountain . . . his first visit, my second. He had the wings with peanut sauce. I got to taste a bite. They were really meaty and delicious. I had the Prairie Burger, with a chile pepper, bacon, and peanut sauce. Wow! Very good! I opted for the salad at a slight upcharge; it was fresh and tasty. The real treat was our waiter, Joe. He introduced himself and then asked our names. He was so personable that we thought he was the owner. Turns out it was his second night on the job! He was attentive, and he called us by name throughout our visit. Great dinner, great evening, great waiter.
