The family is pleased to have nice Indian restaurant in Winchester! The dining room and atmosphere are very nice, new and clean. The menu has all of the expected delights, we ordered lamb madras, chick korma, butter chicken, garlic naan, and onion kulcha, which is baked bread stuffed with fresh onions and green coriander (next level naan). The wine and beer list are extensive, wonderful selection of domestic and Indian beers, global wine list, etc. All of the food was very tasty, the lamb was the table favorite. We order each with "medium" spice, which was mild and very enjoyable (we will likely order a little hotter next time). They are located just off of route 50, near 81 and across form the Chinatown Restaurant. We entered by the big lots, drove around and up, taking you into the Food Lion parking lot and into their parking lot. Oh, and you can order directly from their website. Hours: Lunch 11am - 2:30pm Tues - Sun - buffet is also available. Dinner 5pm - 9:30pm Tues - Sun Menu, location, and order online!

I have never experienced this before. We walked in to the restaurant expecting to enjoy an Indian meal. There were about 15 diners in the restaurant. We were greeted by the hostess who informed us that they were closed (3pm on Saturday) to transition to dinner at 5 pm. Then... She said, "we can make you a take out if you want it" Excuse me? You can cook us a meal but we cant sit in your restaurant and eat it? How does this even make sense? Meanwhile, the waiter is bringing food to the tables already seated. I am at a loss to understand why a newly opened restaurant would be turning customers away. So we went next door to the Hibachi grill and spent our money there. Good luck being successful in Winchester with that approach. I guess they dont realize the level of competition in Winchester. SIGH!

I was tired of the same old suppers and wanted to try something different. I went into "Taste of India" not knowing what to expect as this was my very first time eating Indian food. I had heard stories before from it being extremely spicy to delicious..so I thought Id like to try for myself. RanJeeta was my server and she was very polite and helped me choose dishes from the menu because I had no idea what I was ordering. She was very patient as well. When I received my food, the aroma was breakthtaking, and I have never tasted food like that before! It was delicious! The flavors awakened my taste buds as I felt as though I had been introduced to a delightful array of herbs and flavors I never knew existed. An Excellent choice if you are looking for something different.

While traveling for work and staying nearby, I recently had the pleasure of discovering Taste of India with my crew. I travel a lot and eat out a lot and was impressed by both the quality of food and service. I can vouch for the cucumber salad, lamb curry, chicken madras, and pudina paratha, as I had all of them and found them to be delicious. A well dressed, matronly lady came by to inquire about our satisfaction and, after we showered compliments on the cooking, acknowledged with satisfaction that she herself had made the dish we were eating. Our beverages were never less than half-full, service was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was pleasant, and I sufficiently fed three hungry grown dudes for $75 (with , generous tip included. I couldnt really ask for much more, honestly.

Avoid! The service here is atrocious. Not only can you not get a drink refill, buy you get a screaming three year old running after her mother(?) whose one of the waitresses. I was so excited when it opened as its close and there arent many options in Winchester. Boy was I disappointed. I went back four times, one lunch buffet, three dinners, each time I couldnt wait to leave. The food isnt even that flavorful. One incident put a girl in tears after they mixed up our order giving her table my very hot tikka masala, and left me with the bland attempt. If you want good Indian food, make the drive to Martinsburg and go to Spice Connexion. Its worth the drive!

We were excited to try this restaurant and arrived at 3pm on a Saturday. There were a few groups of dinners in the restaurant. We were turned away saying that the lunch was over and dinner would not be served until 5pm. Then we were offered take away! Really?? Who turns away customers, especially in a new restaurant? If they had the ability to cook take away, why could we not be seated and served? I would understand if they said the lunch buffet was closed but we could have a seat and order from the menu, but to flat out turn us away?? Poorly done. I expect they wont last long in Winchester with that kind of business practice.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience. First, in entering we were met by an extremely polite and welcoming host. Then we were shown to a table. On the way we walked past a beautiful Indian shrine. The seating and table we immaculate. Clean, comfortable and the upholstery in tip top shape. The buffet offered a very wide selection and was visually very appealing. The food turned out to be be very fresh and very well prepared. Not too spicy at all. The wait staff were very competent and courteous. Great, great experience.

This was one of the best experience I had! The food was remarkable and delicious. There were many items and each of them had their own specialty. The staff were very nice; I had an amazing and convenient time. I would highly recommend this place. The place was very clean, and ambience was very nice. I cant wait to embark on the journey to visiting here once again!

Amazingly fantastic food! Friendly, courteous staff with excellent service. Indian is one of our favorite foods, and this was the BEST Indian food we have found. We will be back! This is better than our favorite restaurants in Martinsburg, Hagerstown, Leesburg, Ashburn, and in between. They have some good ones - this is better!

Overall experience was great. The food was delicious! The lamb taphia was very flavorful with a thick seasoning but went amazing with white rice. The service was very pleasant although it took a while for food. But it was opening night so, kudos for a job well done. I will definitely order again but maybe carryout next time.

Awesome service, and especially tasty food. I see a few haters on here. Ignore their tirades. They are just spoiled Americans who cant handle being told something contrary to what their expectations demand. Total rubbish, and a shame that they have the power to effect hard working business people.

I went to the lunch buffet and it was wonderful! Tried a little bit of everything that was heated and now my office is planning a luncheon there next week. If youre new to Indian food, try the lunch buffet. Amazing array at a surprisingly low price!

The lunch buffet is what I go for. As the sign proclaims it is a taste and the owners rotate the items enough that each return there are different choices. For the price it is a good choice that will allow you to try something different.
