Is this the real review?? I think that the reviews posted on this site are from the employees from the restaurant. Heres the real review from a real customer!! I was there last summer with my friends since I came back from my vacation. My friends and I tried the place. The place is nice and very spacious. The server showed us to the table and we looked at the menu. The menu has a lot of choices but it doesnt tells us that the food is going to be spicy or not. I requested something not spicy. There was only 3 items that are not spicy that been recommended by the waiter. I was disappointed that they didnt have more mild foods on the menu. We ordered our food and drinks.. By the way, the sodas and the iced tea, they charge you for refills. They have a buffet area with the fancy domes. If you want the buffet, they only do it on one day. Our food came and we all tried the dishes, all of them was very spicy and we didnt finish it all. The only thing that is not spicy are the rice and the naan. That is all.. They had fixed the place and it looks nice that fits to their culture. They added TV that plays Indian music and their culture. There was 3 crystal chandler and peacocks feathers all over the place. Also, they made the restaurant sparkle with multicolored LED lights (Never works and a few bulbs are going out). But, I have seen a lot of mistakes there that needs to be addressed. One thing is that the safety issue.!! Its a huge failure!! I noticed that the restaurant is equip with fire sprinklers everywhere. As I was looking around, there is only one smoke detector up in the ceiling. I was trying to find more smoke detectors but I can find only one. From all of the restaurants that I have gone through, they have smoke detectors everywhere. My friends and I are deaf and we rely on either flash notifications or loud sounds that vibrates to tell us if theres a fire. There is not even one fire alert on the wall anywhere. If theres a fire or an evacuation, we will be dead by that time. Another safety issue is they posted the fire extinguishers signs on the walls and I was looking for the extinguishers. There was none at view. This made me very awkward to dine here. If theres a fire and no extinguishers, my friend and I would have been burned to death. I did some more observance around the place and I noticed automatically there is a huge fire hazard and a huge danger for the customers. When I was sitting down on my seat, I noticed that there is a plug receptacle next to me and the seat is actually touching it. There is not fail-safe feature installed and waiting for dancer to come. If there was a small kid sitting next to that and poke their hands in the plug, then the parents will see them electrocuted and cause some serious injury or death. The servant was OK but they have very poor customer service. We were waiting for the waiter to come back to check on us, never did.. They stay at the bar watching the TV and talking. We had to wave to get their attention. Also, when we ordered the food, they been backing up trying to avoid their customers. If I were you, I highly recommend for you to go to a different Indian restaurant with great service. The restaurant dont have the great warmth to welcome anyone. This restaurant is a major disaster waiting to happen. I hope that the town, Nutley NJ, sees this and hoping that they would do something to fix this restaurant. I wouldnt go back there again since they had shown us how they treated us and their customers.

We first tried this restaurant because of our love for Indian Cuisine, buffets and eating someplace local to our home. Krishna Indian Cuisine - 244 Franklin Ave, Nutley, NJ 07110 is in a large dining hall, with ample seating and parking. The wait staff and workers are friendly and accommodating, but unfortunately those are the best things about the place. On our first visit, what stood out was how terrible the food at the buffet was. Many of the chicken dishes had meat that was tough, chewy and the sauce was terrible. The Dal had a strange taste to it, and the dessert was very dry. As they were a brand new business then, we decided to give the place another chance, but this time for dinner. The restaurant had been open for several months at this point, but again, the food was still bad. And now the tables, seats and the menus were dirty and sticky. The Saag Paneer had an overwhelming smell and taste of flowers, and the Chicken Tikka Masala, did not taste anything like how it is supposed to. Again, the chicken was tough, chewy and the sauce was just short of inedible (the watered down Tamarind sauce didnt help it either). This was very disappointing, as there are not many good Indian restaurants local to our home. Several months after that, a friend gave us a coupon to the place and we decided to give it a third try. This time, while the Dal was passable, while eating it, a piece of metal pot scrubber was in the dish. We let the staff see the piece of scrubber, and the waiter just kept saying "oh sh**, oh sh**". While his utterance was inappropriate, he did not address the problem, nor did anyone remove the dish from the buffet. One of the managerss approached us afterwards, and we thought they would apologize for the error, or perhaps even compensate us for the meal, but she did neither. Although we were know as we had been there at least two times before, the manager only told us, rather rudely and embarrassingly, that we could not use a coupon for the buffet, although the coupon we used did not specify that buffets were excluded from the deal. Needless to say, we will Never Again patronize Krishna Indian Cuisine, coupon or not. If you are looking for exceptional, authentic Indian cuisine, we have several outstanding and excellent recommendations - Mausam or Chatni in Montclair, NJ; Chaska in Jersey City, NJ; Shahnawaz in Edison, NJ (one of the most authentic and largest buffet around!), and Red Chutney in Edison, NJ. As we have been eating this cuisine for many years at least on a bi-weekly basis, please take our word for it, beware Krishna Indian cuisine in Nutley, NJ. Michael -N- Valerie, NY/NJ, Earth USA

Ive been going to this place for years. Their buffet has great selections and for the most part their service has been good, until recently. About 2 weeks ago, I went for lunch with my family. We usually order the mango lassi instead of just having the courtesy water. The waiter seemed bothered that I asked. You figure restaurants are in the business of trying to sell side items like drinks and desert. But this place never asks. Its like theyre happy just serving water. Plus they forgot to bring out the nan (grilled pita bread). I went there again today, got the same waiter, and the same thing. I had to beg this guy for the mango lassi. Youd think after all these years of going there, even if it wasnt customary to offer drinks other than water, that they would recognize me by now to know to ask if I want the mango lassi. But of course, I had to beg again. The buffet had no plain rice, just a little bit of flavored rice which they didnt replace. And I was there pretty early, around 12:30pm. The buffet didnt close until 3pm, so why no rice? The waiter then gives me the check after 30 mins of sitting down while Im still eating a full plate. Then comes back a few minutes later holding a pitcher of water to see if the check was ready. He walks away looking disgusted because the check wasnt ready, and doesnt refill my empty water glass. The place is never busy but the waiter seemed like he was in a hurry to get us out of there. These last two experiences there have really made up my mind. I have an Indian restaurant in my town which is a lot closer and friendlier, doesnt have as much of an extensive buffet selection but is cheaper, considering this place raised their rates to almost their weekend prices. I might as well go back to the local restaurant instead. They are so much friendlier and they always ask if I want something to drink. Too bad for this place, I enjoyed coming here. But you lost a once loyal customer.
