I have a family of 5 (3 kids, wife, & myself). We go to a lot of restaurants, & love to try new ones. My wife used to work in the food service industry & her parents used to own several restaurants before they retired. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly hostess, & to a very beautiful interior. Food: Our waitress was very friendly, & helpful when we asked about different menu items. We each got water for our drinks & ordered the hot Tea & hot Green Tea. For our appetizer we ordered the Crab Rangoon which arrived in about 5mins. I was expecting the sweet filled type that you get from most other Chinese restaurants, but what we got instead was REAL crab rangoon. For our meals we ordered Beef w/broccoli, Moo Shu Shrimp, & the Vegetable Egg Foo Young which arrived in about 10mins. We each tried some from all three entrées, & even my 5 year old liked it all. We had enough left over that we were able to bring home two boxes. Service: The service was excellent, & better then what weve had in a long time. With our waters as soon as they were about half full/empty, they were refilled. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about items on the menu. If we placed a plate or two to the side that we were finished with, she would remove them within a minute or two. Total we spent about 43.00 before tip, which filled all of us up. We could probably have lowered that by skipping the appetizer. The service was so good we tipped our waitress 20%. Conclusion: If you want a good filling meal, excellent service with a great atmosphere, this is the restaurant for you.

We get carry out at Nanking on a regular basis - at least once a week. Their food are priced in line with other Chinese restaurants in the same class (compared to Full Kee, Mama Wok, etc). The food is fresh and service is quick...we call and within 15 minutes, its ready to be picked up. Weve had a variety of dishes from here - but I will have to say, they are quite good with foods such as Orange Beef, Sesame Chicken, General Tsos, Firecracker shrimp...they are good with frying food and keeping it crunchy and fresh! Ive had other items such as tofu and veggies, shrimp egg foo young, and they have all been pretty good. I would recommend this place - especially during their lunch specials (cheap and good)!!! Update: 11/1/2013: We had Nanking as our caterer for our wedding at a Clubhouse. The food was great! All my guests raved about how good the food was. Overall, they did an excellent job. THank you!

I came here on Christmas Eve and the place was packed! However, the hostess was very courteous and politely told me that there would be a 10 minute wait. After I was seated, I was promptly greeted by the waitress. I skimmed the menu and there was an abundant number of options to choose from. I choose the vietnamese spring roll for an appetizer and the Fileg Mignon Wor bar for the main course and my friend chose the five spices crispy calamari for the appetizer and the seafood delight for the entree. One notable difference with Nanking is that they offer brown rice, and no, I do not mean "fried rice", but the whole, natural grain kind. Despite the packed dining room, our food arrived relatively quickly. Both our appetizers and entrees were delicious! My water glass was never emptied and the waitress made an effort to check on the table multiple times. I would definitely come back!

Food was pretty good. My wife orders often for her work but I was surprised by who pricey it was. The take out order I placed was nearly 12 dollars more than it should be. Turns out they dont own their website and the guy that does hasnt returned their calls. They have raised the price an everything in the two years since the had the website made, at least that is what the manager told me. My family was waiting for the food so I declined to argue but if they still have their name and number on a site they need to honor the price. Not likely to order again.

It was 7:00pm and the place was empty except for me. That should have been a clue. The atmosphere and service was OK but far from remarkable. I ordered hot and sour soup. It was neither. In fact it was fairly bland and, again, unremarkable. I also ordered Mongolian Lamb. I didnt know one could remove the lamb flavor from lamb. If I had been blindfolded I could have mistaken it for beef, chicken or even that faux meat made from gluten. It was rubbery and, again, unremarkable. Dont misunderstand. The food wasnt completely dreadful, just bland and unremarkable.

I get lunch here often and the food is awesome! Not only is the food delicious, they use brown rice! You know the whole grain, unbleached way that its suppose to be. The spring rolls are amazing too! Probably the best Ive had in the area. The staff is also very friendly and always take a few minutes to speak when picking up your order. When we eat in our glasses never go empty and I have never had to wait long at all for the food to come out! If you want great food at a good price, this is where you should go!

Went there for karaoke night on Friday. It was slow until around 10pm, but we ate beforehand. Food was absolutely delicious and priced well for the huge portion sizes. There were a few snafus when it came to ordering drinks, mainly because I think there is a language barrier between order and placement. Easiest thing to do is order a beer, theyre relatively well priced as well. Mixed drinks are hit and miss as to cost and the way theyre made. Stick to the simple stuff and youll be fine.

Food was good, but Service is poor. Ordered for takeout and when I checked my CC bill, they added on their own tip!!! Whoever took my order on the phone was very short w me and rude. Manager was not very apologetic and told me to come back to get my overcharged amount- there was nothing more he was willing to do but that! Will give another place my business due to this incident.

Sooo disappointed - hope tonight was a bad night. Pad Thai shrimp had 1/2 fried shrimp in it - eww used to be best in the area. Shrimp in various other dishes (sweet and sour shrimp and scallops and shrimp in tangy sauce). Was not very fresh - 2 of my shrimp were actually smushy - yuk This place was the best - please come back!! Richmond needs you!!

Ive had good food here before ...but its a slap to the face to serve "spaghetti noodles" and market it as "Lo-Mein". Sadly theyve got most Americans fooled but more cultured Americans and Asians know better. Youre eating spaghetti people not lo mein. #shame

The place is beautiful. The bar is big and stocked. The large TVs are great for sports. Most of the bar tenders are fun and easy going. Oh yes, and the food is delicious. I think they have karaoke on the weekends, too.

Delivery got to my house very quickly! However, the food wasnt the best. Got the hunan chicken which was good but very dry b/c it didnt have much sauce. The egg roll I got was pretty nasty (threw it away after one bite).
