We went there once for lunch and it was okay, so we tried it again. The service is good and the atmosphere is good relative to other restaurants in the Richmond region. The fried wontons were as stale as Ive ever had. The soda just wasnt right. The food was a sub par version of the uninspired (easy to make) garbage that is typical of Chinese places in the Richmond metro region, and we were both a little ill when we left. I had "Orange Chicken" which appeared to be fried pieces of chicken in the brown sauce with pieces of orange rind. As near as I could tell there was nothing else in there (like veggies or spices). My wife had "Mongolian Beef" which was thin strips of beef and onion in the same brown sauce. Hers appeared quite laced in salt/MSG. Both were listed as hot, and I wouldnt even have called them moderately spicy. I wasnt reaching for my water.

This was the best Chinese restaurant Ive eaten at in such a long time! I had the Special mei fun. It comes with pork, chicken, and shrimp. I had then substitute the pork with veggies. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I also had the hot and sour soup, it warmed me right up on a cold day and had the authentic taste I remember from traveling around Asia. The service was amazingly friendly and accommodating. I needed to charge my phone and tablet, and they moved me right to the table with an outlet. The food was out faster then ever, and I could tell everything was made so fresh! Their menu was huge for the size location. They got a lot of take out and was very busy, so I know there locals love this place. This is a must stop!

Well, I have to be honest and say the food was very good until I saw an eight legged bug cooked on the water chestnut. I ordered Double Cooked Pork. Once I saw the bug, I put the food down and wanted to throw up. I took the food back the next day when the restaurant opened and of course she tried to say it wasnt a bug. I said, "lady, it has eight legs". She said ok and gave me my money back. Good luck to those brave people who keep eating there.

My wife and I ordered from there yesterday for the first time, takeout. The food had a good taste and the staff were nice. However, when we got home, opened the entrees and began eating we discovered staples in both of our entrees. So, if you like a good taste to your fast Chinese food this is good, but just make sure you want to live dangerously before eating here.

Stopped in Richmond on the way to DC, a hotel employee suggested True Taste so we had it delivered to our room. Fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, ribs, wings, crab rangoon, spring rolls, it was all fantastic. It arrived when they said it would, the order was correct and the food was hot. Would eat there again.

We order from this resturant between weekly, and bi-weekly, and never have issues. The food is great, prices are decent, and we cant stop coming back. My girlfriend hated Chinese food prior to trying True Taste, and now she is always asking for them!

The first time we ordered from True Taste wasnt bad. We decided to give it a second try, and the food was completely inconsistent. Bitter flavors and overcooked meat. Then I found a bug in my soup. I wont be buying from True Taste again.

The food is some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten and my wife and I enjoy Chinese food all over the country. The ambience is plain and simple but clean. It is a very popular restaurant with local residents. Go and enjoy!

I had the crab rangoons, egg drop soup, and general Taos chicken. Overall, it was ok. Rangoons had a weird aftertaste, soup lacked flavor, and chicken was mostly breading. Wont go back probably.
