Great staff!!! Great food!!! They really get to know you and make an effort to remember what you like. It has gotten to the point that the staff knows I dont like ice in my drinks. The environment is on the cool side could be warmer. I feel welcome every time I come in. I dont feel like just a customer whos going to eat, pay and then leave. I feel like a welcomed guest. They are great with kids as well. Food is really good. Portions are generous and decently priced. Does not take long at all to cook food and serve it. Half way through your meal your check is given to you, so you dont have to wait on the wait staff to come by your table when you are ready to leave to pay for the meal. You just pay at the front which is the smarter alternative especially if you have kids who want to leave. The lighting is great. Even though its a family diner it is also great for a date. I would highly recommend to any one. They are especially good at taking care of the elderly and helping them to the table. They treat the elderly as if they were their parents!!!

My wife and I moved to McLean a couple of years ago and quickly discovered that the Family Restaurant was THE place to go for breakfast. The foods not going to win any awards, the atmosphere could use a little updating and the service is just ok but the line out the door tells you all you need to know. Its the perfect place to bring your newspaper, chat with a neighbor, enjoy a good breakfast. Its also where quite a few of Washingtons elite, many of whom live nearby, eat with their families. You never know who youll spot.

Ive been going to MFR for about 15 years. You can still get breakfast until about 3 PM and the management is very accommodating and friendly to everyone. Breakfasts are great and prices are reasonable. Watch the lines on the weekends - out the door and down the widewalk. That speaks for itself. MFR is an extremely friendly restaurant. You see familiar faces on a regular basis. Their desserts are homemade. Try it - youll like it. Kids are always welcome here. Thats probably my car in the picture.

The food wasnt impressing at all. I had a garden salad with gyro, the kids had spaghetti with meatballs and a grilled cheese . The service was horrible , waitress wasnt welcoming at all. I was there with a group of 5 kids and she didnt even offered crayon to keep the kids occupied. I had to wait 15 mins after we sat at the table to ask for it . She never came back not even once to check on our table .

im giving this place 4 stars because its authentic. it really is one of the only family restaurants in mclean. its the real deal. the food is ok. owners are greek so, in addition to burgers, etc., the gyro option is pretty good. otherwise, it wont win any awards for innovative cuisine, but its a bustling, clean, family oriented place that is a good choice for breakfast or lunch.

While traveling to Baltimore from Dulles airport, we exited I-495 due to an accident (common occurrence here) and searched for a location to grab a bite... Found this place and had a very good experience... Simple DINER style decor, but excellent fare and prompt efficient service...Id recommend it.

Food is good. Theres a coffee pot going around at all times constantly refilling the cups of my fellow coffee addicts. Seating is tight and limited and it can be a little chilly inside but this place is my favorite restaurant in the area. We had issues with silverware, straws and food accuracy.

A local diner. The menu has all the breakfast basics one needs, without all the flare & options of its corporate chain competitors. Considering its location, the menu is relatively inexpensive. The food is good and prepped quickly, service is prompt and the coffee refills come regularly.

Not a fan. Dated and dark facilities, but clean. Staff seemed bored with life, but provided good service. The food was lack-luster. The prices were a bit high, but everything seems to be in this area. No need to return to give them another shot.

Friendly, warm, dependable family restaurant where loyal customers of all walks -- from young families, seasoned pros, to national "names" avoiding the limelight -- go to get honest food, personal talk or just a time to relax.

Very rude customer service, from the older gentleman at the front taking order, the young girl was very nice and communicative tho. Food subpar at best, place is too small and always overcrowded.

Nice place, not fantastic, not bad. Basic menu of omelettes, French toast, waffles, black coffee, etc. The decor isnt much but lots of families and locals. Staff is friendly and parking is easy.

I probably eat here once a week and keep returning for their pizza! The red tomato sauce is a must and stands out from the other local pizza places for sure! Its a quaint family owned spot.

Been going there for years. Just had dinner there with family members from 10 to 96 years old. Not your corporate, commissary-provisioned chain restaurant. Nice people, good food, variety.

Great food and reasonable prices! Everyone is very friendly and the dinner portions are huge! Pork loin and Mousaka were really good. We definitely will go back.

Little home in the wall place. Great Greek diner food. The mozzarella sticks were really good. Had the stuffed grape leafs for dinner and now I cant wait to go back.

food was fine and service was prompt...but the booths are a really awkward and bad size. Each side is too big for one person, but too small for 2 people.

All food on menu is "good" and service is good. Busy place but they manage it well as this family owned business has been around for awhile.

I grew up (and now live) around the corner, and there is no other breakfast spot Id rather go for a decently price hearty meal.
