I went to Metro 29 with my neighbor who is a vegetarian. I called in advance to ask if they have vegetarian items on the menu. They said yes. In reality, not so much. My friend ended up ordering the eggplant parmesan platter which came with a side of soup. My friend asked the waitress if any of the soups available were made without beef or chicken broth. The answer was no. So he asked if he could substitute the side of soup with fries. The waitress replied that she did not think she could do that. I asked to speak to the manager. He came over and I explained the situation and asked again if we could substitute fries for the soup. The answer was a resounding no. The reason? They were not the same serving size. That was it. No attempt was made to accommodate the customer whatsoever. And was his meal discounted for the portion of food that he did not receive? Um, no. We were quite disappointed with how the situation was handled. It was our first, and last visit to this restaurant. By the way, I had the chicken souvlaki which was spectacularly mediocre. Im starting to think Guy Fieri is either loosing his touch or selling out to the highest bidder. This place was so not worthy of the Triple D fanfare that they like to advertise.

(I give them ZERO stars...I dont know why Google is presenting my rating with 5 stars) I cant comment on the food... because I didnt even get that far. (Maybe its great... but Ill never know, nor will I care to know) We received no acknowledgement that we were even in the restaurant. No hello. No well be right with you. Nothing. Zilch. Zippo. Im all for little, non-chain restaurants. Usually the service is run by staff that use their personality/charm to draw in business. The Metro 29 Diner seemed to want to repel customers. If you want people to come to try the food, dont death glare them when they first step through the door. Very unwelcoming/rude staff. And the cooks looked peeved and miserable. My advice for metro 29 diner: ditch the attitude. My dollar is going to be spent on someone who appreciates my business. We ended up going to the Dennys down the street.

The service is good, I would give 3 stars for service. It was good friendly timely service, and I had no complaints at all about the service. The food is mediocre and uninspiring. Its still good, but I expect better from a restaurant. Most restaurants are better. I give 2 stars for the quality of the food. The value is between 1 and 2 stars. The prices are a little bit high, and on top of it, the food is uninspiring. Id be inclined to give it 1 star, except the portions are big enough that I think that bumps it up to being a 2, which means that its still disappointing, but not horrible. It wasnt a bad experience, but the prices combined with the lack of anything drawing me to come back means that I would give it two stars. I have no desire to give the place a second visit. Its not a bad place. Its just not good enough to make me want to come again.

I am not the type of person who would take to time write a review but I had bad experience and I feel like I should share this. Bad service, we ordered our food, got the wrong food and the waitress never came back to check on us. I had to eat because I did not see her again for like 45 minutes. We had to waive at her to get her attention. Food was plain, flavorless, ridiculously overpriced for a diner. I could have complained to get the food for free but I am not that kind of person. There are so many other diners in the area who serve better food, have better customer service, everything for half the price. I do not know why triple D would choose them. I am never going back.

Waiter was 5 stars. Food was 3 stars. Thus 4 star average. I originally ordered the tuna melt. I was disappointed when served what tasted like canned tuna salad. Adding insult to injury, a cheap processed American cheese slice was melted on top. Yuck. I expected better quality from this establishment. Upon informing my waiter I could not eat the tuna melt, he was quick and very happy to replace my meal. The Reuben sandwich I chose on the second order was much better. Still not the caliber I ecxpected at the Metro. While others must enjoy this diner as evidenced by the 20 minute wait on a Sunday around 1pm, I Cant say I would eat here again.

Metro 29 has been in Arlington for 20 ish years and has become an institution. It always has a line out the door, especially for breakfast. The service is fast. The staff has been on board seems like since the beginning. The food is diner food - well prepared. The deserts are killer. My favorite is the Eggplant Parmigiana dinner. This is a very family friendly place and an excellent restaurant to go to when you want to socialize with your friends. The food servings are probably too large (food always goes to waste) and Metro 29 has become a bit pricey. OVerall an excellent choice and a place you will go back to over and over.

This is one of my favorite late night, post drinking spots - open late and breakfast any time!! The restaurant is pretty big so you never have to wait long and their menu is just as big - breakfast, burgers, salads, sandwiches, steaks and that dessert case!! While Ive never tried a dessert from there, I am always tempted to take a big slice of one of their homemade treats home with me because they look so yummy!! The parking can be a little hard sometimes - they have a private lot but spaces are tight and it gets crowded. But it is a great spot to take guest for breakfast or for the late night munchies!

I ordered 3 pancakes and sausages that were both worse than a roadside grease fix. And that is somewhat mean of me to say because I actually like roadside diners. But the $11 cost warrants perhaps a little more effort on their part. The food did come out in under 5 minutes; thats either a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I looked at it with suspicion. Also, even though there was about a staff member per restaurant patron, each staff member looked over-burdened with our presence. Ill be sticking with Bob & Ediths for our weekend breakfast outings.

I was insulted and called a RACIST today in this restaurant. I made the mistake of speaking to a waiter in Spanish. He said I was using RACIST LANGUAGE to speak to him. I speak five (5) languages -- English, Spanish, French, Italian, and German. I try very hard to be courteous in any language. This waiter had insulted me, and when he said I was RACIST I felt deeply insulted. I have never been called racist before. I will never go to the Metro 29 Diner again! Never forget! Never forgive!

super bon, prix raisonnable, les desserts (surtout le strawberry cheesecake) est incroyable!!!! tout est fait a partir de zero, donc un petit peu plus long pour le service quune chaine mais les 5 minutes de plus valent vraiment le coup!!!
