I have been coming to this diner for years, but I dont see myself going ever again. The other day, I was out to lunch with a few friends I havent seen in a few months. It was very busy, so I was able to overlook and understand the fact that our waitress was forgetful. She forgot my meal as well as one of my friends drinks, but again, it was busy. Then, when we werent even halfway through our meal, the waitress started rushing us, asking if we needed boxes, the bag, or the check, though we hadnt slown down yet. I wanted to socialize and catch up with my friends, her rushing us frustrated me to no end! This wasnt even CLOSE to the worst part though. The manager at the front who takes care of processing the bills was insanely disrespectful. I dont know what happened to cause this man to lash out at me and my friends, but it was so not appreciated. I asked if he could split the bill into two so that we could pay separately (as I have done with the exact same manager many times in the past), and he said, "No, I dont have the time," very rudely, though we were the only people in line, I insisted that he split the bill, but he ignored me. My friend had already handed the manager his card, so the manager charged all of our lunches to his card, which was so frustrating because we had to drive to the bank to get my friend his money back. I will never be attending this Double T ever again, this treatment was absolutely appalling. Ive found that the one in Catonsville has MUCH better service, and the managers arent major jerks to customers there. The Double T in Ellicott City has lost 3 valuable, regular customers.

I had breakfast there on Sunday. My parents were visiting from New York and wanted to eat breakfast at a diner. Being new to town, I searched and found Double T. I should have done my research! I ordered pancakes, and they were fine, but the coffee tasted rancid. My parents (who are Spanish) ordered the Spanish Omelet, expecting peppers, salsa, choirzo, or ham. When their food came out, I thought that there was salsa on the plate. However, it was what appeared to be a can of luke warm vegetable soup with about a 1/2 cup of celery. Celery is not indigenous to Spain! I dont completely blame the wait staff because they are working with what the kitchen produces. I would say that it would be advantageous for the business to look at their menu and evaluate the products they provide. If you are going to operate a diner, you need to taste what you are selling. Perhaps other items on the menu are better, but this is experience has left my family with a bitter taste in our mouths. I would not recommend this diner to family or friends unless they lack the sense of taste.

I like this place for a diner. It is of course nothing fancy but almost always get very good food and service. The crab soup and Greek salads are both very good (in Ellicott city )-- and the menu is like a phone book with tons of options for breakfast lunch and dinner. I love their cream chipped beef too. Occasionally something comes out thats off but thats unusual. Also, I like the double t in ellicott city much better than Catonsville - the food is much better and so is the service. The crab soup at Ellicott City is soooo much better. Also I can never resist the dessert case on the way out - some desserts are better than others though. For example the baklava is to die for but sadly their pie crusts are not great so the pies are just so so - and their pecan pie filling is not good at all, which is strange because thats so easy to make. The cakes I have tried are good though. Overall its a good value and nice place to go anytime for a quick bite.

Went for breakfast. The food was way below average. And to our surprise we had a $4.00 charge when we got the bill. Apparently since my daughter and I had shared then breakfast, the charge was for an empty plate they gave us (I didnt even need it since the breakfast I got already came in 2 plates. I thought they gave us the empty plate as a courtesy like they do at any normal restaurant). The waitress didnt mention a single word about the $4 charge and the manager (who was pretty rude) said it was written on the menu and we should have read it (I am sure it was in small letters somewhere). Her explanation was the $4 charge was because they have to pay the diswasher to clean the empty plate (Boy I would love to be a dishwasher here if I get $4 per plate !!!!!!) Sadly there was a Bob Evans (which I always go to and love) right next door, dont know what I was thinking going to this place. Never going there again.

This is one of those places with the policy of "you wont be seated until your entire party is there". And while I understand why they do this, good customer service would dictate when you can modify that policy. Like when you are in a hurry and the rest of your party is in the parking lot. And you have plenty of tables and no wait. So the hostess already turned me off from the start. Her attitude was completely one of not caring if the customer stays or leaves. Having said that, the waiter we had was very good. My daughter had to leave early (hence the hurry) and he made sure her food came out first and was piping hot. The food itself though was mixed. Some of it decent, some of it only ok. I would put it slightly sub-par for diner fare. Not a place I would avoid, but probably not somewhere I would actively try and go back to either.

I have tried to eat here twice. The first time was no a slow night ordered pork chops which were very dry no flavor and my server was not the greatest but I have tried other Double T diners and think they are GREAT this one was poor. The second time was doing a busy Saturday with many family coming in. Since I was by my self and did not need the extra space I elected to sit at the lunch counter. And their I stayed for 15 minutes not a single person came over to me to say hi or to take my order. So I walked out feeling angry and saying to my self " I will not ever come back to this one again" I have also talked to other who have been to this place and they say its either hot or cold depending on the server you get. So try it you have a 50/50 shot of good service and I know you are going to talk about it.

This diner seems to have the best rep in the country. Not sure why. It does have decent food, a huge selection, a very classic diner atmosphere. The one thing that really turned me off was when my wife and I stood for about 4-5 minutes inside the door waiting for someone to seat us, or even acknowledge us; the place was maybe a third full, so there was neither a shortage of employees nor tables. Then when the oh so polite woman finally did approach us she was like a robot: no smile, no politeness, no nothing. I hate that. Smile at me to start my meal at YOUR restaurant. End my meal at any restaurant poorly, but definitely do NOT begin it poorly. I hate going into a meal with a bad attitude. Then I leave reviews like this.
