Well I used to love this place. Ate there at least twice a week. The staff was very friendly and I came to know many of the servers. However today my in laws all got together for breakfast and I suggested my favorite diner. They had one server (Ashley) taking care of 30+ people. In no way was any of the trouble her fault. She was doing the best she could. She always takes great care of me any time I come in. But the food came out wrong, cold, many plates were missing and my eggs cane out still raw. Ive worked in the restaurant business for ten years so Im pretty understanding when things go wrong. I know mistakes happen. I get it. But when we asked to speak to a manger, "the head cook" came out. Who also happens to be the owners son. He was very rude and condescending. Offered no type of apology. None. He said if we wouldve known you were coming it would have been better. Ok 1. Sure maybe we shouldve called. 2 if you couldnt have accommodated us, you should have told us at the door. 3. Thats really unprofessional and rude to say to paying customers, especially when we racked up a $300 check. We will gladly take our money else where next time. Sorry to inconvenience you. The owner did not want to come over and speak to us or apologize. She stood over in the corner snooty and glared at us. She came over and was talking to our server and I read her lips saying "take care of this so that I dont have to" and laughed and walked away. When she decided to come over because we went over and got her, she brought her son, the chef, back with her who was even ruder this time. He started yelling and getting smart with women of our party. He even fluffed his chest up and tried to get in her face. Swinging his arms around like he was about to him someone. The owner, his mother started screaming over top of my father in law, who was trying to explain why he was upset with the service. She was already in a bad mood because the general manager quit today. Thats what we were told. Hmm. Thats a message in itself. I wouldnt want to work for a self absorbed, unprofessional and greedy company either. She kept saying Im the owner. Ok well then you should treat your customers with a little more class and respect because your business wouldnt run without them ;) We were there for over three hours. We were expecting it to take awhile for the amount of people. But everything was wrong, cold or missing. We had children with us who were without food. No type of apology was ever offered by management. We didnt even want anything for free, just some understanding, someone to take responsibility for the mess. Ashley did what she could for us and didnt charge us for our drinks. In stead they came out and addressed us very aggressively, their behavior was not professional whatsoever. They were making racist comments as we were leaving and saying ignorant things. Servers were crying and saying sorry. Apparently this isnt the first time they have acted that way. Very disappointing. We will take our business elsewhere from now on.

I WAS VISITING MY HOMETOWN OF YORK, PA 2/20/2017 AND MY SISTER IN LAW SAID LETS GO TO THIS DINER FOR BREAKFAST SHE ATE THERE TWICE A WEEK AND LOVED IT. WE HAD A PARTY OF ABOUT 30 PEOPLE MOSTLY KIDS. WE HAD ONE SERVER HER NAME WAS ASHLEY WHO ALSO HAD A PARTY OF ABOUT 10 PEOPLE WHEN WE WERE SEATED IN HER SECTION (SHE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB BY THE WAY) BUT OUR SERVICE WITH OUR FOOD WAS TERRIBLE IT ALL CAME OUT COLD AND MISSING PLATES. IT TOOK ABOUT AN HR. FOR MY 3 YR. OLD TO GET 2 PANCAKES HE WAS THE LAST TO RECEIVE HIS FOOD. OUR WAITRESS WAS GIVING NO HELP TO ACCOMMODATE US AND SERVE OUR FOOD FASTER SHE WAS LEFT TO SERVE US BY HERSELF WHICH WAS WRONG ON THE ESTABLISHMENT PART! I TOLD THE SON (LEAD COOK) WHO WAS AT THE DOOR WHEN WE ARRIVED HOW BIG OUR PARTY WAS, THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE SEATED US IF THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER AMOUNT OF STAFF TO ACCOMMODATE US. MY FATHER SPOKE UP AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER WHICH SHE WOULDNT COME BUT HER SON WHO IS THE LEAD COOK CAME OVER AND WAS REALLY RUDE AS IF WE WAS AN INCONVENIENCE BY SAYING "WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED FIRST WE WOULD OF GOT BETTER SEVICE". THE WHOLE TIME THE OWNER IS HIDING IN THE FRONT WATCHING, SHE CAME BACK TO THE ROOM WE WERE SEATED IN AND TOLD OUR SERVER TO DEAL WITH US BECAUSE SHE DIDNT WANT TO AND TOLD OUR SERVER NOT TO ACCOMMODATE US NOR TAKE ANYTHING OFF OUR BILL WHICH WAS $300. EVENTUALLY WE WENT AND GOT THE OWNER OURSELVES WHICH THEN SHE ALSO BROUGHT HER RUDE SON THE LEAD COOK BACK WITH HER MY FATHER TRIED TO EXPLAIN HOW UNHAPPY WE ALL WERE WITH HOW ARE FOOD WAS GIVEN TO US COLD AND THE MISSING PLATES (I MADE MY 1 YR. OLD EAT HIS PANCAKE COLD BECAUSE IT TOOK AN HOUR TO COME AND HE WS CRYING FOR FOOD) THE SON CAME BACK IN AND WAS PUFFING HIS CHEST OUT YELLING AT ME AND MY SISTERS AS WE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THE SERVICE WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND WE WERE UNHAPPY!! THEY WERE BOTH RUDE STARTED YELLING THE SON WALKED UP TO MY SISTER AS IF HE WAS GOING TO HIT HER AND WE WERE JUST APPALLED AT HOW WE WERE TREATED!! OUR SERVER DID GO AGAINST THE OWNER AND TOOK OUR DRINKS OFF THE BILL BECAUSE SHE KNEW AS WELL OUR FOOD SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE WE PAID OUR BILL AND TIPPED ASHLEY A HUGE TIP FOR BEING AN EXCELLENT SERVER!! I WORKED AS A SERVER AND IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS THAT TREATMENT ACCEPTABLE SAD TO SAY WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN AND WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. THE GENERAL MANAGER QUIT THAT MORNING!! THEY WOULDNT GET THE ONE STAR BUT I HAD TO GIVE THEM ONE TO WRITE THIS REVIEW!!

My experience at Lyndon Diner was disappointing to say the least. The food is ok and the customer service is terrible. My stuffed chicken was cold and my side of baked beans were under cooked. The salad and chili were good though.The waitress gave my daughter the wrong order and when she was informed of the mistake she started to explain to us how the cheesesteak was the same as the angus burger philly steak special. Instead of taking the plate away our server asked another waitress. The other waitress who was training our server informed us that it was in fact the wrong order. Around 15 minutes later my daughter finally received her correct order after everyone else had nearly finished their food. We saw our waitress once after that. When I went to pay the check I was standing at the counter for 2 minutes while the cashier/manager looked at receipts and talked to another staff member. I finally asked if I was to pay at the counter or with my waitress. The cashier rudely informed me to pay at the register, took my credit card and said sign here. When leaving my daughter heard the cashier apologizing to other patrons about a wrong order and offered them an item on the house. My daughter then told the cashier about our experience with the waitress and the cashier replied in a condescending manner "oh you mean the waitress whos only been here for 2 days" then stated "well didnt you eventually get the right order". This is the first review that I have ever written and you know a place has to be bad when you take time out of your busy day to write a review.
