Ok this place is awesome!!! Best BBQ in town in my opinion. I have been going since they opened and have never had poor service or a bad meal. They are a little expensive but I keep going because it is well worth it. And probably compared to the other BBQ places they really arent that expensive. They give you a big helping of meat for you to put your own choice of sauce on. So for those reviews that said there meat was bland and they had to use the sauce well that is why. Sides are a little smaller then other restaurants but soo yummy. The baked beans and mac and cheese are sooo good. If you dont like spicy foods though this is probably not the place for you everything I have ever gotten here has a little kick not too much but if you are super sensitive to hot things you might want a salad. Hope this helps others.

The food is just okay. I had a fried pickle as an appetizer and the breading was a little thick. I got their pulled pork Cuban as my main course and everything was good except the pulled pork... which is supposed to be one of their staples. It was really, really dry. Also, their prices are pretty high for a barbecue joint. I ordered their corn pudding and it had an inch of water/some sort of liquid at the bottom. I will say that their long island is very strong - definitely pushed the place up from 2 stars to 3. If you have the time and dont want to spend as much money for bbq, just drive to Alamo downtown. Nothing is comparable to it in Richmond.

We were visiting Richmond and were looking to get some BBQ. This place came up in our search and were very lucky to get a seat. As we entered we were greeted by friendly staff, liked the ambiance and the BBQ aroma was enticing. The waitress quickly walked us through the local brews and the specials. Unfortunately, they had run out of the ribs :(. The fried pickles, loaded nachos and pulled pork/chicken were all excellent. The chicken was very fresh and tasted nicely smoked. The sides of mac/cheese and scalloped potatoes were well made. All-in-all a great place if you want to grab nice BBQ.

Overall, experience was excellent. The place is rather small, so there was a short wait outside. Once we were seated, the waitress was very friendly. They have a nice variety of items to choose from. Loved their BBQ, corn pudding and hush puppies. The squash bake was also delicious as well. I took my family and everyone enjoyed their meal. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the other items on the menu. UPDATE: Had to wait twice as long to be seated but the food is still delicious!

I read stellar yelp reviews and went there for dinner. The space was full of people! So I ordered the much hyped Cuban hog sandwich for take-out. I thought the pulled pork was quite dry, but the more bites I had the more delicious and enjoyable it was. I think this continued until the very last bite! It was interesting. Their cole slaw was very good too (maybe a little sweeter than usual recipe, which was done just right, so I enjoyed it). Next time, Im going to try the po boy and the ribs.

Service was okay, waitress did not seem happy to split check for us. Hush puppies were the highlight of my meal, also had fried pickles that had a bland batter. The pulled pork was flavorless without the sauce, the sweet potato fries were nice, and the Mac and cheese was mediocre. Lastly, the blackberry cobbler was not very good and tasted like it had been thrown together because they accidentally ordered blackberries.

This place is great. It is small but the food is arguable some of the best southern style food you are going to get short of attempting to make it yourself. Even with that, if you are not an all star home chef with consistent access to quality fresh ingredients, you cant replicate what they make. From burgers, to shrimp tacos, to brisket, lobster and everything else that is eaten south of the Mason -Dixon, they win.

What a special little gem! My only complaint is that there is usually a wait because they are packed. The staff is so nice. I believe it is locally owned and operated. The menu is mainly southern food but NOT your run of the mill southern. They put a great spin on the menu. I usually dont like BBQ food but this is different. Yes, you so go see for yourself.

This place probably doesnt need a review to know how good it is. Had the pulled pork with potato salad and slaw. Pulled pork is like heaven in your mouth but the potato salad is to die for. Service was fast and easy. I would seriously fly all the way from Seattle again just to come here and I know my bbq being originally from the south. 10/5 stars.

This is a cozy barbeque joint, but dont just eat the BBQ, everything is amazing. My personal favorite menu item is the pork wings (pork shanks served in a BBQ wing style). The occasional special, Nashville Hot Chicken Tacos, are out of this world as well. Their specials menu is always changing so theres something exciting to try everytime you go!

One of my Favorite locally owned places to eat..small and intimate , but kid friendly..waitstaff has been there awhile and always makes you feel like a welcome friend. Food is amazing and diverse..but ya got to like pork..The Irish Nachos are the best in town..and the Asparagus fries are Awesome..if you havent been you have missed out!

I had the hot dog which is no ordinary hot dog...it is wrapped in bacon, deep fried, and then topped with pulled pork. It was delicious! Everyone at the table was very happy with their food and I would definitely return. I highly recommend the fried dill pickles. Best I have ever had. Oh and dont forget the limeade that they make!

4 or 3 stars depending on what youre looking for. Food was above average for BBQ joint, wait time was about 40 mins for 1 table to leave and the whole experience was about 2 hours. So, if youre looking for quick, forget it, if youre looking to take your time and pig out, go for it. Bottom line, Id go back but leave more time.

went here once and was so disappointed in the food and service i will not go back.food was blah and the servers were more interested in talking among themselves and people at the bar that they ignored the other tables. also the prices were way to high for the portions received and poor quality of the food.

The food and the portions were very good. The day we went, we were seated quickly. The waitresses were great getting our orders and refilling our drinks. Only item that put me off a little was their prices that seemed a little more than I expected, but its worth it for good food.

A great addition to all the BBQ joints here in Richmond. Small place, with BBQ, which packs a lot of flavor. Their Hot Wings will bring sweat to the Brow. I asked for Nuclear Hot, and they were JUST that. A must to try, and when you do... You will be returning.

The best place in the west side to to get barbecue or good southern cuisine. The staff us awesome and the food is amazing. The only problem is I wish they had a bigger venue that way you wouldnt have to wait so long to get a seat but even with the wait its worth it
