Its OK, Ive had better. I had the combination platter with NC Pulled Pork, Brisket, Collard Greens, Baked Beans, and Sweet Tea. First off the sweet tea has to be instant no way this is fresh made. It had a hint of lemon and it was watered down. I like my Tea like I like my women in the summer, Little bit of a Tan and Sweet as Apple Pie. The Collard Greens were uneventful just boring like cafeteria style blane. The baked beans were the worst in the whole dish. Taste of some molasses maybe with some smoke added Im thinking and they werent sweet or spicey at all just a little bit of a burnt taste almost like liquid smoke does to some food. They would have just been better as soup beans if you know what mean... Cornbread was good no complaints there. The Brisket was more like Pot roast out of a slow cooker, which was a big disappointed watery and kind of mushy. The NC Pulled Pork was Ok not to bad at all but nothing special as well. The place was small and serves alot of people fast. Look Im from Tennessee and maybe the taste of people up in NOVA are a little different and blane. BBQ sauces are good, but if I gave you a review with that its like putting ketchup on everything, which means it just taste like Ketchup and not the real food. This dish with a drink cost me $16.27 and its a lot of food, but not what I was expecting. I love my BBQ and had it all over the US. Try this place out for yourself let me know if agree or disagree and why. So Ill give just it the OK stamp of 3 stars.

***3.5*** My wife and I have been to Williards several times now and each time has been pretty consistent in terms of taste of the food, and the service. Upon arriving we realize that the parking lot has very limited parking and can be very tight. You can tell from looking at the store from the outside that seating would be limited. When we entered the place was very packed and there were no seats available. Luckily we didnt have anywhere to go so we were in no rush to order so we pretty much stood around until seats became available. After about 5 to 10 minutes people began leaving. My wife and immediately placed our things at one of the tables so we would be guaranteed dibbs in a sense....lol. Finally we waited in line and started looking over the menu. Their menu is pretty vast so it was kind of hard to decide. However, my wife and I decided to go with the two meat platter. Wife - Pulled Pork, Berf Brisket, Coleslaw, Baked Beans, and Cornbread Me - Pulled Pork, BBQ Ribs, Potatoe Salad, Baked Beans and Cornbread Overall we felt the food was better than A-Ok but not quite the best BBQ weve had. I will say that my wife and I both enjoyed their Beef Brisket. We felt it was the best meat item.

Wow for the food, wow for the not so stellar reviews. I would really like to go to the place that you guys that didnt give them 3s for the food because this place is hands down the best barbecue I have ever had. In their defense, the meat they give you is dry because you are supposed to choose the sauces that make in house, right by the door. If you didnt put their sauce on the meat I can see how your rated it low. I would ask you to try it again. Chipotle mustard didnt look that great, but since trying it, I get it every time. Sweet BBQ is good, and the Hot BBQ is actually quite hot. My favorite sides are the green beens, and the mashed potatoes. I get brisket every time I go because its so good I cant get past it to anything else. I have tried the pulled pork and it is great, too. My coworker said the ribs were good, but nothing impressive. When he tried the brisket (with sauce) he was sold. Dangerous place to go if you are on a diet, Im always way too full when I leave. Oh, and they are usually so busy between 12-1 that its damn near standing room only at times.

I was quite surprised, even suspicious with so many 5 star revues, when the Washington Post food critic gave it at best a mixed review. I went there on a Saturday at 1 PM with my family and ordered pork and chicken (the Washington Post food critic said he found the beef dried out/overcooked) alas both the chicken and pork were equally dried out. The vegetables and dessert were on an A+ to F scale a solid B, but I did not travel an hour round trip for desert or vegetables. The meat was a D. I tied to complain to the staff who all indicated none of them spoke English. When I asked for a manager, they indicated there was none. Perhaps the problem was that there is a jar for “TIPS” and after paying for the food in advance, I assume if you don’t immediately fork over several dollars as "TIPS” in advance of eating the food as it won’t be very good. If you live nearby, this may be a place to stop by if you wish to experiment and have money to waste.

Much better than any of the cold flavorless crap which the Dulles Expo Centre offers. Very popular with all age groups. Lots of available parking and seating. Well lit and except for the person yelling out order numbers, decible level low enough for conversations. Orders processed very quickly. Tip jars: some do and most dont. Brisket platter with tax just over $12. Big enough to feed two leaving room for desert or multiple drink refills. Meat was thick sliced, tender, not overly fatty, and better than most Ive had in Northern Virginia. Enjoyed the creamy potato salad but found their Cole slaw flavorless and could easily believe that it was delivered by Sisco in 5 gallon cans. Corn bread would not remind you of your, or anyone elses, Mom. Nothing to say "Mmmmm, thats really good corn bread". The one person mens room was clean and wheelchair accessible. FIRST YELP REVIEW :)

We got the Family Meal for 6- and to be honest I was expecting way more. Ive been to willards before and had good food, but this time was just absolutely sub-par barbecue. The burnt ends were literally like the title, completely burnt. They were just shredded up and doused with sauce to hide the fact that they were entirely burnt. Burnt ends should be smokey, a little burnt, and melt in your mouth, but this was just pulled burnt brisket. The spare ribs werent smoked long enough so they had to be ripped from the bone. The pulled pork was OVER smoked, so it had a strong woody chemically taste to it. The corn bread tastes good but was kinda dry. The mashed potatoes were very good, but you cant mess that up. Jerked chicken was pretty good, not over cooked, good smoke. But the main stars that you expect out of a barbecue joint just didnt shine this time.

I really wanted to like this place so much that I stopped there to eat two days in a row. The first was for a dinner meal consisting of their duo platter. I chose pulled pork and brisket, two of their most popular meats per the staff, along with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. It comes with corn bread. Overall everything but the mashed potatoes/gravy were bland. The sauce helps and it was tasty. The next day I stopped by for lunch because I saw they had a Cuban and I am a sucker for those sandwiches. I got baked beans and dirty rice for my sides (they dont sell fries). Even with the chipotle mayo, the sandwich, which was served on a hamburger bun, was bland. The beans were very good and the rice was OK. My only other complaint was they use the smallest plates/serving bowls possible so you have to be careful carrying your plate back to your table.
