First off, Im ma country boy from NC, so I know bbq. I personally find bbq in NoVA to be overpriced, and skimpy on portions in general. With that said, the bbq was tasty and warm. UBBQ has the standard sauces, a red, yellow mustard, NC vinegar and an atomic hot. All were good but nothing oustanding. The atmosphere is americana, football, firefighters, local universities, along with some license plates and dont forget or favorite, a few gun references (albeit, low key). Really good selection of local beers on tap. Lost rhino root beer as well. Place could have been a little cleaner. Staff was friendly and courteous, but not the quickest. The biggest drawback is when foods get fried it fumigates the entire storefront. The smell gets in your clothes and hair. That is the primary reason. For such a low rating. Fix that and its 4 stars easy depending on your taste for BBQ, but I found it to be tasty. Attention, peanut barrel inside so beware if you are allergic. They do have a plastic cover with a flip up lid.

Was not impressed. My husband got the ribs and was pleased with them. I got the Steak Salad...was not impressed. Not a lot of steak for the price paid ($10) and the steak was overdone. I really was displeased with the kids food. My oldest daughter is not a picky eater at all and when she said that she was done with the popcorn chicken after only two bites, I knew that something wasnt right. They were hard as rocks! Definitely not fresh at all. We got the mac and cheese for my other daughter and it was just okay...cheesy, yes, but was in desperate need of some salt and pepper. We dont get to go out to eat very often because its not in the budget. I feel as if we just wasted our money on food that was just mediocre. We will not be going back.

Heard about this place and decided to try it. So incredibly overrated, the sides were cold, meats were fatty and the attitude of some of the people working there is poor. Very poor, so poor that Im typing this review from the parking lot having just left there. Right at 9pm some idiot in the back started yelling, we are closed ! As if to hurry people out, which worked. We left, so did the other customer. Never again will I spend money with these rude people. You cant have a bunch of street thugs running the kitchen . Fantastic pulled pork ! Tastes like perfectly smoked hog . Add a bit of the vinegar base sauce and you have something worth puttin in your mouth. Staff is great , goin so far as to change the channel from football to the hunting channel . If your looking for chicken nuggets and Mac and cheese for the kids .. Stay at home . Want a salad ? Stay home ... Its a bar b que joint . Everything Ive had there has been great . If you can find same portion and quality for 3.00 ... Let me know . I guarantee Ill be back .

Got three meat sampler with ribs, chicken sausage and brisket. Ribs were the best in my opinion. The corn bread was excellent, moist corn chunks and delicious, wrapped in plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out. Mac and cheese was awesome and the fries were crisp. Friday lunch crowd wasnt too bad but then again maybe cause of the holiday weekend. Great spot. Will come back!

I walked in not very excited for bbq but this place definitely proved me wrong. Everything I had was really good. Brisket egg rolls, burger (the patty itself was particularly delicious), and greens (which I am very picky about!). Their hot sauce is really yummy too. And the chili that comes with the egg rolls is genius. Good stuff! Friendly staff and great environment, too.

The pulled pork sandwich was amazing! Their BBQ sauces are all really good and my side macaroni was smokey, real cheese. The beef brisket was good, but a little softer and fattier than my mom makes it. Great music, alternative and grunge. Liked the funky decor. Knowledgeable people at the counter and food came out quick, though very few customers at the time we came in.

I am a Kansas City BBQ snob, having lived there for 6 years. But check this out, I have scowered all over DC trying to find a good BBQ joint. Dont take my "Very Good" for meaning it wasnt excellent, I just cant give any BBQ outside of the K any high marks. This, IS THE BEST BBQ in all of the DMV period. WHile youre there make sure to get some PEEEECAN Pie!

First the bad: my booth had a wobbly table. Everything else about this place was a 5* experience for a BBQ joint. If you like some heat with your meat try the Atomic Punk sauce. The collards and "super food" slaw were spot on also. Wish I could have tried their carbs but Im doing that diet... Gotta love a diet that lets me eat at this place though!

It was a good price, the pulled pork was cooked well, and the sauces were all pretty good. However, the meat was so, unbelievably salty. Since there are other bbq places not too far from here I will probably never go back. I normally like salty foods, but this was just way too salty.

First time here. Wife had the super food salad and enjoyed it. I had the three meat sampler with the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, fries, and mac and cheese. The food was excellent as were the sauces, and the prices were very reasonable. Well worth a repeat visit.

We found this restaurant on Memorial weekend. I was pleasantly surprised. Great food (the ribs and bake beans are excellent) and great staff. An awesome first experience. I will make a few return visits to update my review.

The heavenly smell passing through your nose upon entry is enough to drive any vegan to the dark side. Staff was very helpful and friendly and the quality of the food is second to none. Will definitely be coming back!

Lots of food for a reasonable price. Weve only done take-out. The mac&cheese is very cheesy. The brisket and ribs are also both pretty good. They also have a large beer selection, which was unexpected but welcome.

I like everything here especially the BBQ half chicken. My only gripe is what they call a roll with your mean is actually just a hamburger bun they give you on the side. How does that makes sense?
