So I went to a birthday gathering with my family. The first plate brought out to me was delivered with a baby roach crawling across the plate. Yep. It came out from under my samosa and was going across the plate. Well if theres a baby one, theres got to be a mommy and daddy somewhere close by, not to mention the brothers and sisters. Upon telling management of this little "friend", we were told that they would inform the kitchen staff to be on the lookout for more. How about saying thank you for letting us know. Ill call in the exterminators and handle this. Instead he took 3 dollars off the bill and brought another round with two extra. WooHoo. Makes me want to eat there. Next time, Ill let them know a little loudly (IF I decide to go back) that theres a bug in my food and that I want a full refund.

Despite the subpar reviews, I figured Id give this place a shot since I live in Fairfax and love Indian food. Subpar is exactly what Masala Wok is; most of the negative reviews on here are spot on. This place has the potential to be pretty good, but they should seriously consider hiring a new chef. The cooked vegetables tasted like straight up burnt cooking oil; kind of ruined the rest of the dish for me. I ordered take out and it took quite a while to get my food, and there was barely anyone in the restaurant; the customer service wasnt very great either. If you enjoy Indian Food, go to The Spice Route at Fair Oaks Mall instead. Way better food and excellent customer service; I am a regular there and the manager knows me by name and knows exactly what I order. Avoid Masala Wok!

Horrible service and Horrible food, They do not deliver what they promise. We ordered the chicken Tikka, In the picture that is 3 skews of Chicken each skew has 4 pieces of large chicken and they brought only 6 very tiny peaces of chicken. To put things in respective, that was barely one skew of the three they advertise. The rice was not cooked and the person or the manager working in dinning room bringing the food can use little trimming on his nose hair, dirty nose and when he was talking spit was flying around in the air. Kinda gross. Very bad experience, would never go there again. Spend about $ 50, the food was worth no more than $ 13, a total rip off. Nice concept but very disappointing service and food. unsanitized.

I bought groupon coupon and went there yesterday. I showed the coupon code to the cashier and marked my coupon used as i was told. cashier told me that my coupon was used and was not valid anymore. i told him that i just marked it used in front of him as i was told. he kept arguing that my coupon was not valid anymore. he called the owner named vivek and owner was a complete moron. he kept arguing that i should call groupon. this is the level of customer service he is providing to his customers. he could not have been bothered to sort this out with groupon for 5 dollars and instead is willing to screw his customer and put them through trouble. I will not go there ever again. even mcdonald can provide better customer service.

i like the food but every time ive tried to do a carry out order its been a mess. last time my wife and i waited 45 minutes for constant just another few minutes assurances. this time i ordered online a couple of hours in advance with a request for the food to be available at 4:15 PM. I got there and got chewed up because food had been waiting for two hours and why was I late? no one had read the request on online order to have food at 4:15. they offered to remake and said it would "only take five minutes." it was at least 15 minutes. stopped counting. no more carry out orders. wish there were something else similar for Indian carryout? any suggestions?

Called this place to order food and the man picked up by saying, "Please hold," and without waiting to hear me say anything, just set the phone down. I could hear them talking in the background for a while. I started calling "Hello?" And no one would answer. So I called back. I told the person that answered my story of being rudely put on hold for over five minutes, being forgotten about, and hearing them just hanging out and talking in the background, and all he said was, "Oh." Then I said, "So, can you help me now?" And he said, "Yeah." So I decided to not eat there.

Worst places to eat food. Highly recommended not to go. Its better to stay hungry then eat here. We ordered veg. Spring rolls. They charges $5 to 4 pieces and the worst part is they were frozen, packet one just fried in oil n served us. Then we had Paneer with Tandori Masala n rice. Tandori Masala curry is not at all spicy, it was so sweet n made it like they are going to use same in every dish Tandori masala, tandori chicken, butter chicken etc. etc. Me and my wife ended having plain rice n left food in between n moved. They also charged $22 for such a bad food.

Came for lunch on a Saturday, since we were looking for a place that was open by 11. Imagine if McDonalds did Indian food. Thats about my evaluation of it. The chicken in the tikka masala was dry, chewy, and obviously hadnt been made with the sauce. The sauce appeared to be mass-made and reheated. Rice bland. Naan bland. Chicken "65" was nothing of the sort - more like a cross between sweet and sour chicken with a touch of heat. Prices were excessive for the quantity and quality of food. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place!

New management. I ate their last week and the food and eating experience sucked. Now dont get me wrong, I liked eating here with the old management. 2 out of the 3 dishes were not served well. We asked for spicy and 2 of them did not come spicy. Then when they recooked the food both the dishes did not have salt in them at all. Not even a little bit. Now to the eating experience. The chief had music blasting to the point where you could not even hear the TV. And we were sitting to the window side.

Went here and got the basil noodles with paneer. Not sure what people are complaining about. My food wasnt greasy and the paneer was excellent. The atmosphere is lacking though (there were screaming kids when we went), so if youre looking for a nice restaurant for an evening out this probably isnt the place. If youre just looking for a good and reasonably priced meal, this is a good place to go.

We were very disappointed with food at Masala Wok in Fairfax,VA.we ordered appetizers Samosa,Chicken 65 which are tasteless cant eat them.Next ordered Chicken Biryani which cooked with normal rice instead of using basmati rice and its sticky,Chicken pieces are not properly cooked and hard to eat.seems like they are frozen chicken pieces preheated and mixed. So i never go to that place again.

My two friends that went there yesterday came home from food poisoning and are sick to their stomachs in bed atm. I havent been there since my other friend and I went awhile back and found a 3 pieces of plastic in our food (hair tie elastics of one of the cooks). We asked for a refund and the hispanic cashier only gave a refund to one of us...never coming back. Its not what it used to be.
