I never leave reviews for restaurants. But if you are reading this.. be assured that you are doing the right thing before you try this place! Myself and my friends ordered the following : 2 Chicken tikka masala 1 Masala wok special(Spicy) When the food arrived.. it looked okay. Staff was good. But that is it !!! The food was so TASTELESS and ROTTEN that we couldnt help but talk only about how bad the food was. It felt like we were eating food which was microwaved for a few minutes and served with spices all over!! Chicken tikka masala.. was nothing but a bland version of Butter chicken, which didnt taste any good!! We tried to finish our food but could not.. and left! It was not over yet.. The next day.. 2 out of the three people felt so sick that it only felt like we had indeed eaten something that our bodies didnt like! Bottomline : DO NOT TRY THIS RESTAURANT! I have been to so many restaurants which have Indian-chinese menus .. this is the worst. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN! I WOULD PREFER MCDONALDS ANY TIME OVER THIS! Yeah.. it was that bad!

If possible, I would gave zero star to this place. The quality of food was zero grade. I was there few minutes back (4th of July) and we were party of four people. We ordered three curies and they dont have either naan or garlic naan or roti. At the end he asked in kitchen and said that he can gave frozen naan and we agreed as we cant eat only curry. When the food came all three curries were really really really hot and that temperature comes in food in microwave only and not on wok. Also, the curries were not looks fresh in taste. He charged $12 something cents per curry and that was not viable the quality of the food. We just ate Half curry among four people and throw out all rest of the curries. We ordered paneer korma masala which was 0.5 of 5. Another was paneer tika masala and that was completely tomato soup having paneer which is 0 (more than 0) out of 5 and third one was chicken curry which was 1 out of 5. I dont know this place is same like this every time but I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Although the description states Masala Wok as an Asian restaurant, it is more of an Indo-Chinese restaurant. So the menu has Chinese noodles and fried rice but also has Biryani. The biryani is not that great though. I have also found that the traditional indian dishes like naan and chicken tikka masala etc are not that great. So stick to the indo-chinese dishes which are freshly made. The noodles and fried rice are cooked with a blend of indian and chinese spices. It definitely is one of the better Indo-Chinese restaurants in Herndon. The Chicken Lollipops are really good. I would definitely categorize this as good value-for-money because of the portion size. You could easily have lunch in one entree and still have enough left over for dinner. Ambience is not that great and there is not much seating. So it does get crowded during lunch and dinner times especially on weekends and there is a long wait. Also it is a self-service restaurant. Overall, ambience and cleanliness 5/10 food 8/10 value 8/10

well I been working on Indian restaurants before and let me tell you something... this is not real Indian seasoning why? because who I work with was real Indian People and all the kitchen staff in here are Hispanic... I know Im Hispanic too but anyways the last time i went here they take around 40 minutes just to serve me one Chicken tikka masala and A Corma Masala ....... well i hope this people at least learn how to make naan because i was impressed the way they make the naan all dry without flavor and i just to work making naan every single day and jum... i bet i make a better naan 10 times than this guys working in here and they dont even serve the whole naan for one order they just give you the half WTH?? jaa It was so disappointing but I hope the owners read this and teach this guys how to make the real corma masala and show them how to mix the gravy well I know most of the recipes and hope one day came back and get some real flavor....

Got it right today! Ive been eating here for over 5 years, same dish Butter chicken. Last Tuesday placed my order for pick up, after getting to back to my office I realized it wasnt butter chicken. Went back up there to be told it was the butter chicken after going back and forth with the gentleman at the register for about 20 minutes and being told I couldnt get a refund he finally - after being on the phone for 5-10 minutes with mgmnt he refunded me my money for 2 butter chickens still insisting the order was correct. On Tuesdays they do TikkaTuesdays and are OBVIOUSLY using the sauce for Tikka Masala to make Butter chicken. Do not order Butter chicken on Tuesdays..avoid a disappointment! Theyre obviously trying to so a little Hussle. Glad you guys it right today because after over 5 years of eating here today would have been the last.

This was the worst takout meal I have ever had. Was very excited by the menu so bought a groupon before looking at the reviews. I sure wish I had read the reviews first. My husband and I bought two entrees to share. The Blazing Masala Noodles were edible, but not good. It was very greasy and the shrimp did not appear fresh, was not deveined, and the quality was overall questionable. The Spicy Basil was so disgusting that we threw it away. The brown rice was slimy. The shrimp was the same as described above. The dish looked like someone had thrown up on my plate and tasted just as bad. I will never ever go back to this restaurant. Pei Wei is much fresher, tastier, and better priced option!

Twice in a row we have received chicken when vegetarian dishes were ordered. Once we received couple of pieces of chicken in a paneer dish. When we complain the only thing staff does is return the cost of the dish. This is not enough, we made it clear to the manager that having my money back does not make up for the violation of our religious beliefs. We have been life long vegetarians, and held pride in our prevously uncompromised record of never having consumed any meat. Due to the Masala Woks careless behavior our record is broken, and we have felt very violated.

Despite the fact that we have been living in Herndon over 4 years now, discovered this place with my wife just yesterday. Combination of indian and asian cuisine! Also they have some latin food too. Food is unbelievably delicious! I ordered Lamb curry for me and chicken curry for my wife. OMG! Seasoning, herbs, meat! What a flavour! We also got quesadilla. I have never had that delicious quesadilla before. We usually pay 50-60$ in an indian restaurant. Yesterday we just paid 27$! I highly recommend Masala Wok to everyone who like high-quality and delicious food! :)

Ordered the Masala Wok Spicy which is supposed to have a szechuan sauce. When I arrived to pick the order up it was more like tikka masala. Very red and hot, but no asian taste what-so-ever. Not only did it not taste like szechuan sauce the vegetables where as hard as if they had just been plucked from the ground. I ordered it with the egg fried rice which was good. For the price the portion was less than expected. I would not try this place again, since they seem to be confused between asian and Indian.
