Try not to arrive at 10:00pm on a Saturday. It may say theyre open until 11:00, but I think thats more a guideline than a rule even when theres paying guests. The server doesnt listen to what you ask for, and Ive never seen a place where they literally throw out all 3 courses in one go. If you want customers to actually be able to finish their food and not feel like they have to take it home in a box like I did, tell the wait staff to stop asking if everything is ok every 2 minutes. Literally every 2 minutes. If I didnt have to keep saying "fine", I might actually be able to eat the food. As for the food itself. The salad was ok, but the mains are just grease. You wouldnt really know when youre there, but the box of congealed fat thats in my fridge this morning (aka bow tie pasta and chicken thing) tells me not to bother eating it. Disgusting. Finally on the 11:00pm closing on Saturday - they locked the front doors at 10:45. If it says youre open until 11:00, youre open until 11:00. If youre not, say so.

Ill start by saying that I have never written a negative review before so this is a first. My daughters and I ate at Travinia recently for lunch and we were extremely disappointed. I ordered the grilled swordfish with corn risotto and it was so bad that I could barely eat 1/4 of it. One of my daughters was so excited about the short rib rigatoni until she tasted it and then realized how bad it was. This is my teenager who loves to eat, especially Italian food. Normally I wouldnt post a review if the food was less than satisfactory but on this visit the service was just as bad. We were there for a late lunch and hardly anyone was in the restaurant, however our service was very slow and our server acted as if we were keeping him from something more important. Overall this was a disappointing visit and not the birthday lunch my 15 year old daughter was hoping for. That was the last time we will eat at Travinia.

We have just returned from our sons wedding in Charlottesville. We had to host the rehearsal dinner and being from out of town I didnt know anything about the local restaurants. I found Travinia on Google and decided everyone likes Italian so I booked our rehearsal dinner there. What a great experience we had! Robin, the banquet coordinator, worked with me to ensure our dinning experience was a wonderful one. The food was really good and all 44 of our guests agreed. We had one in our party who needed a special food selection and Robin was very helpful in taking care of that.. The wait staff was great and got our food out quickly. It was served family style which everyone thought was a cool idea. I couldnt have been happier. And the restaurant is beautiful inside. A million thank yous to Robin and her staff for helping to kick off this special weekend for our family.

So trivania was pretty bad when i went. Nice decor tho. So we ordered, and they never brought out our salads. They came out with our entrees. Although our appetizers came out well before our salads and food. I asked 4 or 5 times for a steak knife before getting one. None of our plates were cleared untill after we were done with our entire meal. Seems like they got new management. I highly recommend NOT coming here. Bringing a date would be a nightmare here, same with anything other than having some drinks with friends.

We ate here as it was near the hotel we were staying. I had looked at the online menu and prices. The menu in the restaurant was completely different. The staff was extremely helpful and offered to have the kitchen fix what I had seen on the online menu. Apparently they have multiple locations that have different menus (according to the waitress)The prices were a bit higher than expected as well. It was a nice restaurant, but not what I expected.

I have dined at Travinia frequently since its opening. I have had poor service a few times, specifically waiting after being seated for a server to greet me. After waiting recently at a table, I left. The manager noticed my leaving; I expressed frustration. I said that "I would not return". The manager seemed to not care. A free entree or something to retain me as a customer would have been helpful. Nothing. I will not return.

This is a moderately expensive, low quality restaurant with wait staff that just dont seem to really care. We ordered the spinach salad, calamari and short rib rigatoni. The rigatoni was actually pretty good, but the calamari was rubber and had clearly been cooked much earlier in the day and reheated in a salamander. The salad was over dressed and a waste of $10. 2/5, would not recommend

The food was bland. The menu sounds stellar, but the execution is far from great. Lack of seasoning and sloppy presentation. The crème brulé disappointed me the most. The caramelized sugar top was soft and gave away immediately with a plop when hit with a spoon; signs it had been sitting and not freshly caramelized when ordered. Would not recommend.

Ihave NEVER had a bad meal at Travinia. I go there a lot for lunch and dinner. The menu is superb and the wait staff is very attentive and personable. I love the manager, Chris Green. He brings great joy to the restaurant and makes sure everyone is satisfied with their experience at Travinia. (It would be hard not to be). LOVE TRAVINIA!

Recently, they changed the menu, which is a normal occurrence for restaurants here. Even though they took off one of my go-tos, Im enjoying the rest of the menu enough that I havent noticed, which makes them different than others in their menu changes. Since theyve opened, theyve really grown into becoming a go-to restaurant in Stonefield.

This restaurant is really good. The meatballs are some of the best in the nation. Some items are pricy but others are just fine. If you are looking for Italian on a budget then just cook at home. The restaurant and kitchen looks new and modern. As for the wait staff they are fine. Im here for the food anyway. Ill eat here again.

We have our company staff party here every year. The food is always delicious and it is very hard for me to choose a favorite. The wait staff and management here are also excellent to deal with. Theyre friendly and funny and help make the experience a total win for all of us. They also make a delicious Martini. :-)

Food is OK the service is average what really stinks is their inane reservation policy which is to stupid for words. If you try walking in they go out of there way to make you feel like they are doing you a favor. Much better places to eat nearby without the front desk attitude.

First off I wanna say that the crab cake appetizer was REALLY good, the reason why I gave this place 4 stars. The chicken alfredo was SOOO tasteless. The chicken was very dry and the noodles didnt have hardly any sauce. I expected more for this place.

The management of the restaurant is too terrible. You need to wait long long time to get each plate. The waiter always make mistakes about the number of table when they bring foods.
