The restaraunt, in a word, was fantastic. At a glance, the interior, while a tad cramped, is charmingly decorated and pleasing to the eye. If youre dining in, you have to order your food before you sit down, which may be somewhat of a hassle for new customers, as you have you take the time to read the menu and decide what to get. However, ordering your food and paying before sitting down cuts out having to wait on a server to get around to you to take your order and bring you your drinks, and thus lessens the time spent waiting on your food. Firstly, just as everybody else points out, the portion sizes are monstrously generous. Dollar for dollar, you get your moneys worth. For a family of four to sit down and eat two appetizers (which are also largely portioned), an entree` each (which comes with a preceding salad and accompanying bread) on a plate bigger than your face, with drinks (Free refills!) for all, cost only $61. The food comes out steaming on hot plates so youre assured that it wont get cold any time soon. Its fresh, delicious, and of course whatever you dont eat, you can take home. Ive heard that there can be a long wait time, but I was lucky enough to take my family during a Sunday in the late afternoon, so we got a table the moment we arrived. However, due to the limited space in the store, Im not at all surprised that there are complaints about the wait. If you want a higher chance at snagging a table upon arrival, go during one of the typically less-busy days. As for the staff, they were friendly, helpful, and generally all in good spirits. Even though my family had to sit for about 5-10 minutes staring at the menu, they never tried to rush us or get impatient. Based on just my one visit, Castiglias is a charming and worthwhile restaraunt that I would reccomend to anyone looking to get the most out of their money. Just dont show up with a huge party, probably no more than five people, because as I said before, space is somewhat of an issue.

Passing through the small town of Keyser on a motorcycle trip, I stopped into the busy Italian restaurant. The place forces you to order and pay for your food before finding a table. As soon as I sit down, I notice with awe the unbelievable portion sizes on other diners plates. There is enough food for lunch, dinner, and lunch the next day. On the recommendation of the hostess, we order the "best" meals of the lasagna and the cheese steak sub. The lasagna was delivered 20 minutes before my cheese steak sub. Taking a bite of my friends lasagna, I notice how greasy the lasagna seems to be. Unfortunately, the kitchen uses ground beef and NOT Italian sausage to make their lasagna giving the dish a terribly dull taste. Cheese seems to be the only flavor and it is obviously processed mozzarella. My cheese steak was not any better. It was devoid of spice or flavor and after 3 bites, I could take no more. Still famished, I leave wishing I had eaten at the Dairy Queen next door instead. This is not "Authentic Italian flavor" in any sense and will cause indigestion.

Sam Politanos review shows , he is racist , and hate filled . This restaurant and its food is wonderful, the fact that they hire non-Italian employees does not mean it tastes like tacos . how rude and ignorant. after eating several times at this business I can say I is consistent , prices are wonderful, and the owners reach out to the community and hire a diversified group training them to serve and treat the customer professionally. again Sams review is an embarrassment to him and he doesnt even know it . Thanks Castiglias for all you do with your food and the community .

If you eat here you still have not had authentic Italian food. You have had a Hispanic view of what Italian food should be. This is just another small time chain offering good food with an Italian flair. You dont hire American and Hispanic kids to cook real Italian food. How many Anglo Saxon and Hispanic kids do you see in a oriental restaurant? None. This food is good, better than good. But Italian food should not hint of taco seasoning. And sadly this place and several other small Italian places are tasting less Italian and more south of the border.

If I didnt give 5 stars, I think restaurants staff would call me on it. My wife and I come a lot, sometimes with friends. The food is always good, and the portions are HUGE! Be prepared for leftovers. Tip: most pasta freezes well. Dont be surprised if you have to wait for a seat, but it is worth it. If you dont like to wait, call ahead and take it home. The staff is, and has always been, awesome. I dont think I have ever seen them be rude, upset, but never rude. How they keep up the pace they do is amazing. Love it! Love it!

If you are a person who likes to indulge in large portions of food and wait for two hours, this is the place for you! I see the insane portions as a turnoff and it makes me not enjoy the restaurant. The idea is smart, but not if you want to expand your business. If they keep their prices and lower the amount of portion they give they will make it faster. All in all it is not my cup of tea, but they give you a lot of good food for cheap.

This place is owned by an Italian. Period. He spends hours making the sauces himself. Everybody there follows his family recipes. The family even closes for a week or two every summer to visit family in Italy. My husband is Italian and this is the only Italian resturant in the area he will eat at. The portions and price cant be beat. And service is always a delight!

Great family style Italian - huge portions. Ive eaten there four times. I can say the chicken parmesan and lasagna are awesome. Another great option is the steak sandwich. Everything Ive tried has been great and greater portioned than I should really eat. This place can easily compete with restaurants in bigger towns. In Keyser, its spectacular.

My veal was freezer burnt. They served 2 pounds of spaghetti with the shrimp parmasan. The sause was horrible and the spaghetti was layered with cheese. This topped of with waiting 45 minutes and our waitress never returned to the table. Im 49 and have never left a bad review. Chef Ramsey needs to visit

Castiglia Italian Eatery the best restaurant anywhere. Reasonable prices, very large portions, excellent tasting food. The only problem is space. Eating in is very uncomfortable due to the small space and large crowd.Castiglia you need to relocate to a larger space or open a second location!

I have to say poor as we have not been able to eat there. I gave them a $100.00 for a gift certificate in December of 2012; to date, June 2013, after several phone calls and stopping there twice they have not provided the certificate, just a lot of run around and foolish statements.

The review about taco seasoned food from south of the border is so far from the truth, I suspect a rival has written that review. Yes there is a mix of Hispanic workers in the kitchen but the owner and main chef is an immigrant from Italy. Go eat there, you will taste the truth.
