Was in the area and was searching for a local restaurant to go to before heading over to the Air and Space Museum before an IMAX showing. Was pleased to find this gem of a Mexican restaurant. The decor and ambiance was great and the service friendly. The menu was extensive and authentic. The green chicken enchiladas were great, as well as the vegetable burrito my DH got. The pork carnitas were flavorful but honestly, a bit tough for my taste. The side of rice and beans were yummy and who would have thought to top it off with an Cappucino. Upon entering the place, we saw an impressive espresso maker and well known expresso brand and wanted to taste what they had to offer, well I must say, best cappucino I ever had. It was that good! Would definately return and enjoyed Picante Mexican Restaurant very much.

Ive been going here since they first opened, and when they were just a tiny little establishment. Theyve since expanded twice, and I think there was a change in management as well. I can sum it up pretty easily. Consistently excellent food, consistently bad and super slow service. The change in management hasnt changed any of the recipes thankfully, but there has been a DRAMATIC change in service for the worse. Theyve got the best fajitas that Ive had in all of FFX and Loudoun counties. Their burritos are as large as a child, and still excellent, be sure to order yours "wet" in the sauce of your choice. They also have sandwiches that are excellent, try out the torta de pierna. Basically, come here for the food and dont expect great service.

THE place for real mexican food. I come here with people from work for lunch every few weeks and have started to come with the family also. Havent had anything I didnt like. The fajitas are great and the quesedillas are also really cheesy and good. The desserts are so-so, the one thing i like are the churros. The service is always quick and weve never had to wait for a table. the wife raves about their frozen margaritas and i like their wednesday of $2 coronas special. portions are huge so expect to take half home with you. its still pretty decent the next day.

FIRST time I write something to a food place.. My husband and coworkers come once a while here to eat burritos, they liked them. Today I decided to give you a try. I was so disappointed on a expensive food with no flavor or even color on it. I was so excited to taste your Alambre I even recomended it to my coworkers, but I dont know if it was made at rush hour or just a wrong decicion. Its nothing compare to Alambre; full of chuncks of onion and peppers, and little pieces of uncooked meat, and a little bit of cheese. No getting food again.

Ive been here twice, I came last year and they had salsa class and opening dancing afterwards! I loved it since its close to Manassas. Not sure if they are still hosting this event on weekends I really hope they are though. Recently came for dinner it was pretty good. The food we ordered came timely, the staff was friendly and helped us pronounce the dishes in Spanish, the food itself was ok. My dish was a little salty (added some white rice and it was banging) Hubbys dish was little overcooked but still edible and yummy nonetheless.

Ive been eating at Picante! for over 5 years and it is by far my favorite restaurant in the area. The chili con queso is a must have, the Tortilla soup is original and fantastic! My wife and I often order the fajitas which present massive portions. We almost always take something home. The Taco salads, burritos, and my favorite, the carne asada are simply excellent. Dont forget to top off your evening with a bit of the chocolate tres leches cake - AMAZING! Mojitos are very good and the Dark Modela goes down smooth. Thank you Picante!

Our family of 7 stopped there on the way to Dulles on June 10 2017, and wow! what a great serendipity. As native Texans, weve eaten Mexican food all over the US, and this is as good as it gets. The tamales were the best weve ever had, and the al pastor tacos, fajitas, carnitas, and spinach enchiladas were all at the top of our list, too. Good service -- a tad slow, but just right for us as we wanted a nice, relaxed lunch. Great place!

A nice experience every time we visit. Picante is consistently provided a great experience in our 11+ years of experience, weve tried other Mexican places in the area, but we always come back to Picante. We really enjoy the food. The portion size usually always has us taking some home and the price is reasonable. The one thing we always get is the Queso dip. We recommend this place to all of our friends!

Service was Ok, but not great, the food was just bland and boring. We got a burrito that didnt come with rice or what not on the side, probably should of noticed that on the menu. My SO got two soft tacos that where buried or swimming in lettuce and chopped tomatoes for some reason. We decided to just pay and leave and went somewhere else, which Ive never done before :/

Wonderful! Fast, Friendly Service. Hot salsa reminds me of Texas. The Fajita Taco is a manageable, but large, for one. Another favorite is the Picante Salad. Your water or other beverage glass never gets empty and the salsa and chips are bottomless. Prices are quite modest and the location is perfect for anyone in the Dulles area

This is a hidden gem and cannot be put in the same league as any other Mexican restaurants. Atmosphere is bright and festive. Favorite dish is the Pollo en Mole. 16 count them sixteen ingredients go into the well balanced sauce. This dish is the one that got me experimenting with making my own Mole sauces.

I went here from good reviews and I LOVE Mexican food, but THis place disgusted me. NOT AUTHENTIC...GREASY. DRY FOOD AND EXPENSIVE. I just spent $40 on lettuce. the dishes look pretty but taste like crap. I took one bite n put my fork down. and still had to pay. took forever for the food to even.come out

While the standard fare youd expect from a Mexican restaurant is on the menu and quite good, I highly recommend taking advantage of specials and trying different dishes. Some show a real flair and are truly authentic Mexican cooking (as opposed to Tex-Mex or Mexican-by-way-of-American expectations).

We found Picante online while visiting the Dulles convention center. The dip was amazing, very fresh and tasty. The service was super quick, and friendly. Tatiana was very personable, and helpful. The portions are big and its a great deal for the price!

Good quality food. Fast and friendly service. Good beer selection. Offers some authentic Mexican cuisine at a fair price. Interior quite nice and festive. Ample shopping center parking. Large portions served too.
