I LOVE SOUP AND TACO! I ordered the grilled talapia tacos and they came out still hot in the tortillas, which are double layered with cheese in the middle. The chips came out hot and fresh and the house salsa is just spicy enough not to be over the top. It was a saturday so there was a 15 minute wait, but we were actually seated within that time, a rarity for most restaurants! The waitress was friendly and helpful, our drinks were always full. Although the talapia tacos are my favorite (and quite popular from what I hear) the corn tomales are another favorite of mine. We were in and out without being rushed, everything looked and tasted great. I love the small, home-y, authentic, atmostphere. Two thumbs up! A must try!

Hands down favorite restaurant in Virginia. Always consistent fresh food made with love by a family that truly cares about the service and food. I could eat here everyday and not be tired of it theres so many choices your bound to find something you love. I always get the chicken asados( soft tacos) that have melted cheese between the flour tortillas. Free chips with freshly made salsa to boot. The black bean soup is a perfect side. Their dessert menu is not to be ignored either. Theyre fast getting me my food on my break and I always appreciate that I can count on a good fresh meal. Id give them 10 stars if I could.

Very disappointed. I ordered take out and the woman I ordered with and the man I paid my bill with were both very short in temperament. I asked both of them if I would get tortillas with my queso dip and they both said yes. Did I get my tortillas? No!! And as I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for my take out to be ready I watched while every other order in the restaurant was served house salsa and chips. When my order was ready I asked if it came with salsa and was told it needed to be ordered ala carte for 4 dollars! This place is over tasked and under delivered. The food was greasy and generic.

Best latin style food in the Fredericksburg area- There is no other restaurant that even comes close. The food is REAL, not some pre-made stuff from a factory. They use fresh ingredients and they really know how to cook. I had a soup there once, It was some kind of a shrimp soup- best soup I ever had in my life! The prices are very reasonable, the service is great, and everything on the menu is amazing....This is usually my 1st choice when I can go out to eat, period.

Wanted to try this place Sunday August 6th before going with my oldest son and his significant other to shop for a car. Supposed to open at 11, but as we and the three others waiting for the restaurant found out, apparently they arent too high on honoring their posted schedule. Maybe their food is great, but instead we got to try out Benny Vitalis which serves an awesome slice of pizza!

I really like this place. My husband and I have been regulars here for years. Service is always great and the authentic Mexican food is always delicious! The only issue I ever had here was once my Black Bean Soup was cold, but it was taken off the bill with no problem. A quaint little place in an excellent location. We will return often.

The best food ever. I heard so much about this place I was afraid I would be disappointed. Not even a little! If I could live only on the chimichanga I would. Prices are cheap and portions are large. Highly highly recommend this restaurant. There is a sister restaurant called Soup and taco 2 and Im going to go there too!

The service here was horrible. Rude and unfriendly wait staff, and condescending unprofessional management. Food takes forever to get, and if you are with a few friends dont expect any of your meals to come out around the same time. One of the worst customer service experiences Ive had in a long time.

Extraordinary! Fresh, flavorful ingredients, perfect preparation, not at all heavy or greasy, the tamales were sweet and pure, the veggies on the tacos crisp and delightful. I lived in Texas for 5 years so have eaten a lot of styles of Mexican, and this is a truly extraordinary place.

The owner & the wait staff are so so friendly and accommodating and the food is always good! Soup & Tacos shrimp taco is hands down the best taco Ive had anywhere, and the hibiscus lemonade is perfect. One of my familys favorite places to eat in or order out.

I always come here. The food, drinks, AND the staff are excellent. If youre looking for that classic hole in the wall, this is it. Try their signature sopa de tortilla! I usually get a cup of that, sweet tea, chips & salsa for $7.

Literally the best Mexican restaurant, like anywhere. Dont go to soup and taco 2, it has to be soup and taco 1. The best tacos, soup and guacamole! Everything else weve tried is amazing too, but we stick with the classics!

They have great comfort food! Their Tortilla Soup is right up there with the most comforting chicken soup Ive ever tasted. Their Empanadas are fragrant and inviting in a way that is right from a homemade oven. Eat here!

Amazing food, I have eaten at a ton of different Mexican/mextex restaurants and none of them compare to this. If you are in the mood for some tasty food as well as super friendly service I highly recommend coming here!

Got a burrito there and 1 quesadilla/queso to go. Burrito was good, quesadilla was very plain and the queso seemed like it was from Totinos. It had a good Mexican feel, but I most likely would not go there again.

Would highly recommend anything on the menu. A cozy hole in the wall with friendly staff and excellent service. Cant wait to go back for more mexican food. Wish they had fruit drinks instead of sodas though.

Tacos were ok, but soup was delicious. Place is very small and felt crowded. Order took a whole to come out. Wasnt enough room to sit so took the food to go which might have lead to the food being just ok

Great tasting, quick, and relatively inexpensive food. Unfortunately, I never got a water with my meal, but I also didnt bring it up to the waiter. No big deal. Ill still return!

Okay gotta love this place! Make sure to ask for the soup special of the day. They say the crab bisque is their best. No crunchy tacos here only soft but they were still yummy.

Randomly picked due to reviews - best Mexican ever!! Highly recommend their guacamole and hibiscus lemonade! Super tiny (only 8 tables) but worth the wait if theres a line.

One of the best little hole in the wall restaurants here on Caroline st. Extremely delicious. My son cant get enough if their steak soft tacos. He ate 6 of them with lime.
