Its been about 24hrs since I had my experience and I am still sick about how I was treated. I have been eyeballing Oregano since the new location was under construction. I have been dying to try it for months. I travel for a living and eat all over the world having the greatest dining experiences, giving many complements to chefs for their creativity and amazing customer service. To keep things interesting I have an allergy to nightshades. The last time I was able to eat my favorite food was in Italy 6 months ago. I understand they prepare and cook things with a cleaner pallet and I made the effort to call Oregano in advance explaining my allergy and wondering if they would be willing to accommodate. The woman on the phone said "We have so many items on the menu that dont contain those foods, we would have no problem accommodating to your needs." I then arrived with my husband and friend who are also in the service industry and sat down. I gave allergy list to the waitress and gave her a few recommendations of what I would like. She came back and said my only option was a salad. I was a little surprised because that wasnt the way it was expressed on the phone, and I wondered if there was one more option. Then Chef Chad graced us with his aggressive and undesirable presence creating an embarrassing scene in his own restaurant. Never did I act entitled, I only went in asking in a calm manner I gave 3 more options and discussed what I could possibly have. He then disregaurded those choices and offered some vegetables with a slab chicken which at this point I didnt feel safe to say I have vegetarian since I was 12 yrs. I also didnt want to create scene, but I probably should have just walked out. Good flavor in the food or not. I will never return to Orgeno, any of it further affiliating restaurants, or where ever Chef Chad decides to take up space with his very unhealthy mind set about what it is to serve customers. Having an allergy NOT a choice. I Rinsed off the chicken when I got home and fed to my dogs. Every chef Ive met in NY had better customer service...Thanks for the dog treats. And to the response of your rebuttal. I called and said " I was allergic to soy not soy sauce... and the nightshade family for instance garlic, onion, tomatoes, and the other nightshade family".If she had any question she could have asked since most of your food is pre-prepared. My list is closer to 10 items and I gave 6 options that are on the menu asking if we could try those I wasnt listened to, I never demanded anything off the menu. I acted confused but never entitled I never raised my voice. I then tried offering suggestions of what I can eat.The veggie noodles and the options you mentioned were never offered to me. That would have solved a lot of challenges. Chef Chad did make a scene because he threw my list on the table and proclaiming to the point that other customers were looking over at the action.... My husband felt threatened for me opened his body language and looked right to Chad thats when he took it down a notch. I could go on and on about each of your points but honestly I dont care to share because of how defensive you are in your response shows how you run your company. End of story I wish I would have looked at your reviews before I came. If your quality of service was in the question i wouldnt have come in.You have many customers who have pointed out your unprofessional service. That says more to me then what you want to say in your response.

I was very disappointed with this place. My wife and I planned to go to this restaurant for our Valentines dinner. I looked at their website and made sure it was something that my wife and I could afford (given that we are poor college students). When we arrived and sat at our table they had their menus sitting on the table and my wife pointed out how much the meals were. It was a special Valentines 5 course meal that ranged from $37 to around $60 I think. I was unaware of this and I informed the waiter that we could not afford this and needed to leave. But the waiter told me there would be a $25 fee to cancel the dinner. I then explained that I had looked at their website and saw that we could afford to eat here but not at these prices. He then told me it was on the website and I just didnt notice it. I pulled the website up on my phone and showed the manager that it was not on the website and they should just let us go without charging the $25 fee. The manager then agreed with me and went to talk to the head chef Chad Pritchard. But Chad wouldnt budge and was yelling at the manager "I posted it everywhere! Its their fault they didnt know" (we were sitting next the kitchen so we could hear everything). The manager then came back and said that Chad posted on their Facebook page about the dinner and therefore, I would need to pay the $25 fee. Luckily after arguing for another 20 minutes they let us go without paying the fee. I am sure this is a great place to eat but this Chad Pritchard is dishonest. He never posted anything about the price change of the meals on his website or on Facebook but he did post about the different menu. Be careful eating here if Chad Pritchard is in charge. He is a dishonest businessman. I do appreciate the floor manager that worked with us and fought for us. Chad Pritchard ruined our Valentines Day. We were unable to get in any other restaurant because all other places were booked up. You did not post anything about your prices... here is the exact post or whatever you want to call it in the provo daily herald, "Oregano Italian Kitchen in Provo is also offering a Valentine’s Day five-course dinner special with entrees ranging from filet mignon and prime rib to chicken rollatini and Mediterranean salmon." So tell me where the prices were posted. Other restaurants had prices in the article but not yours. So you do some research for yourself Chad.

Went on a Thursday night. We stood at the front door for about 3-5 minutes before anybody came up front to seat us. We didnt see any staff we could have waived down to get some attention either. When we were seated, my wife ordered a mocktail and I got a flavored lemonade. the mocktail was tasty, but the lemonade tasted like it had been made from the country time powder. However, the added mango flavor was good. For the appetizer, we ordered the bruschetta. The bread was toasted on one side, but not crisp, so it had difficulty supporting the topping. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. The chicken itself was moist and flavorful. The marsala sauce was also flavorful, but by the end of the meal, it had started to gelatinize and look unappealing (my guess is because the dish is gluten-free, the thickener they used for the sauce started to solidify). The mashed potatoes were from powdered potato flakes. This was my biggest issue. Mashed potatoes are neither expensive nor difficult to make, so paying $16 for a dish with mashed potatoes made from dehydrated flakes feels like a bit of a rip-off. My wife ordered the Coleman-Davis Cacao Rub New York Strip Marsala (medium rare). The meat was properly cooked, but the piece my wife was given had a high amount of connective tissue, making it difficult and unappetizing to eat. She had the same issues with the sauce and potatoes as mentioned with the Chicken marsala, but it seems even more egregious as this was a $24 plate. After completing our meal, we waited over 15 minutes before anybody came to our table; our drinks were both completely empty. Hard to blame the waitress, as it seemed she was the only server on staff that night. We had no interest in having them remake the meals, because the overall problem was the quality of the ingredients. Overall, we left baffled as to how they had won Best Of State for 2016. Definitely wont be back.
