This was a first: LAYDEE working at coffee shop threatends to call the cops on me because I told her my order was wrong!...I went into Red Eye Express Coffee for the third time ever, the first two experiences were great. Today, there was a lady with long, dark, straight hair, and blue eyes, wearing a white beanie, who I hadnt seen there before. I ordered my 16oz double shot Americano, I as I always do. She charged me over $4 for an Americano that is generally around $2, but I let it go. I sit down and crack my book, and when I sip my drink I realize it is a Mocha. I stand up and carry it to the counter and ask the lady if she made me a mocha. She says, "Yes," and without pause follows that up with, "Thats what you ordered." Immediately she places blame on me. (Good business approach, regardless of whos right.) I tell her that Ive never ordered a mocha in my life, and that Im sure I ordered an Americano. Instead of correcting the issue, she again expresses that she KNOWS I ordered a mocha. By this point the tension is already through the roof, as this womans main goal was not serving customers, but making sure it is clear that she did not make a mistake. She even goes as far as to get in an eye-to-eye stand off with me during the disagreement. I then ask her, "Whos more likely to make a mistake, the person who orders one same drink every day, or the person who takes hundreds of different orders every day?" At this point her reaction intensifies, and she states that I need to sit on the couch and wait because she is calling the cops!!! Am I missing something? Is it illegal to correctly accuse an employee of getting your order wrong? LOL! At this point I could sit and laugh at how ridiculous this exchange is, as I only wanted the correct drink, but I decide to leave the mocha on the counter and walk out. As Im walking to the door this LAYDEE keeps yelling how shes calling the cops, and yelling to me that I should never come back. To be clear, I wont be going back. I went straight to Sunset Coffee to order an Americano (as I paid over $4 and still did not have one), and couldnt help but tell them about the altercation. The guy at Sunset laughs and hands me an AMERICANO, then says this one is on her, and does not charge me for the coffee. Im the one to blame here, as I should have never went anywhere but Sunset Coffee in the first place...

Absolutely LOVE Red Eye Coffee! First time I went, was greeted by the barista Chris, I told him Id never been and he started to go on about each one of the drinks and his favorites, and asked me what kind of flavors I preferred. He was friendly, personable, and a fun guy to talk to. He gave me his specialty drink "Dark Side" and by-golly it was delicious! Second time I went, I was greeted by the barista Brooke, who was just as friendly if not more so. I asked her what her favorite drink was, and she told me about a few of the options she really enjoys. Brooke and I have a fun game going on where she just surprises me with one of the drinks and Ill just drink it! So far, every time I walk in the door, I am reminded why I love the place and why I need to come by more often. I intend to be a "Red Eye Coffee Guy" for the rest of my days. Good people, fun to talk to, friendly and personable staff. I just realized that I havent said anything about the coffee, let me sum it up for you: Red Eye Coffee has DELICIOUS coffee, you wont be disappointed. They have something for everyone, and that I can guarantee. With all the options on their main menu, and secret menu, there is no way you wont find something you wont enjoy. Thanks for reading, McKay

Really cute coffee place across the street where my dad went to high school, so I felt like I was seeing a little bit of history when I went there. The coffee shop itself is very small. Its basically just one little room. The menu is on a chalkboard and is pretty straightforward, but the "secret menu" seems to be the shining gem of this place. Its "secret," but its really not because, well, its literally right on the wall in front of you. But the secret menu options are super quirky and interesting sounding and make for a better-than-average flavored coffee. The coffee didnt have a bitter, burnt taste here, which tends to be what I experience in some other shops. It was hot so I got iced coffee with almond milk and it ended up being a cheap $2. Id come back to try the secret menu for sure!

Super Cozy Remodel and the Staff is Very Friendly Too, I am thinking it has a New Owner or New Management. Seating is Comfortable and the Prices are Very Reasonable. It seems to attract a more sophisticated and friendly crowd than some of the other coffee shops in the area. Everything is Clean and the Staff is Attentive when you are at the Counter which is Lacking at a lot of other Places. The Breakfast Sandwiches are Surprisingly Good and I find myself stopping just for them sometimes. I am Comfortable taking my Kids who are 5, 12 and 14 and they Love the Hot Chocolate. Great place to unwind for 20 minutes after work before I hit home.
