After seeing the reviews for Taigon, we decided to give them a shot over our normal sushi spot. What a mistake! It was quite a while before anyone greeted us after walking in the door, which should have been the first sign to get out of there. The first waitress to greet us said it would be a few minutes while she cleared off a table, then disappeared. A few minutes later we were finally seated by a different waitress, at the sushi bar right in front of where we had been standing. We had plenty of time to waste while waiting for someone to take our drink orders, so of course we didnt miss spotting the amount of dust covering all of the track lighting right above the sushi bar, yum! How hard is it to wipe that stuff down? Oh well, at least the menu looked good. So we finally get our orders in, and surprisingly the sushi took about an average time to get to us. Soy sauce dishes and chop sticks were another story, but after some time we got all of that sorted out too. The sushi was.. well.. average. Nothing to get excited about. I dont understand how this place currently has such high ratings, there are plenty of other sushi places nearby with the same or better quality sushi that have better service and a cleaner environment. Why anyone would choose Taigon over some of the other local sushi restaurants I will never understand.

Theyve really gone downhill in the past year. Management doesnt seem to understand its market and is experimenting with the all you can eat menu and pricing constantly which customers dont like. They kept removing things from the all you can eat menu until it was so limited that it included appetizers and only the most basic sushi options. They have attributed this to using higher quality fish/ingredients but the differences arent noticeable enough to substantiate the severe menu limitations. If I were to just rate the sushi, I would put it at average/good, 3 stars, but the restaurant itself is not being run properly and it really shows. I went in this week at happy hour time to give them another shot and was literally the only person in the restaurant for a half an hour. Also, they are trying to squeeze a penny everywhere as a roll that was once $10 and even shows as $10 on their website, was listed at $10.25 on their current paper menu. I see this business failing if they dont take customer feedback seriously and make a change. If your seating plan was adjusted to accommodate more patrons at lunch, while reducing the price $2-$3, I think it would benefit a lot and if you dont include all sushi items on the dinner menu at 28.99, I cant imagine that ever being successful.

Pro: Clean environment Con: Terrible food quality, over price and bad/slow customer service. I dont really see how people are giving this place a 4-5 star rating. I was near Boulder area and wanted all you can eat sushi. A simple google search bought Taigun Sushi up and after seeing all the amazing ratings, my family and I decided to go for a try. We went on a Friday afternoon and when we walked in, we were not greeted by anyone. After a minute or so, the waiter looked over and pointed us to an empty table. However, what ruined this lunch of ours isnt the customer service, its the food itself. The sushi rolls were salty and over-dosed with sauce. The worst part is the rice for the sushi were WAY to big compared to the size of the fish. I understand the point of all you can eat is to maximize your profit by reducing the amount that your consumers can consume. But this place is a total rip off. Do yourself a favor, if you ever find yourself in the Denver/Greenwood Village area, go to Sushi Katsu for all you-can-eat. Their food quality, rice proportion and customer service are much better compared to this place. In terms of price they charge 15 dollars for lunch and 25 for dinner which is cheaper than Taigun.

Visited: August 2016 Ive eaten at Taigun for numerous years and have seen it go through multiple owners but this change is probably the worst one. To be fair it was always average to begin with, but after today its taken a turn for the worst. I dont know why new owners take a plan that is working and tweak it with smaller portions and slightly higher prices, thats the best recipe for failure. The Good: Quality is about the same. The Bad: The portion sizes have gotten smaller, and in some cases they have raised prices although the menu hasnt been updated to reflect it. You find out when you get the bill. They offer an "all you can eat" option now but do not print the price, I guess thats because it can change on any given day. Also should you fail to eat a roll during the "all you can eat" they will charge you for it. Service was always"eh" but now they are woefully under staffed or incapable of handling the lunch rush, be prepared to sit there for at least an hour and have dishes trickle in for some and not for others. Overall: Farewell Taigun, Ive had many descent lunches but this latest change is the final one for me. I recommend others look else where for sushi.

The first time we went was amazing but since then I believe the restaurant has changed management. They recently started all you can eat sushi which I personally love and think every sushi place should do, however they have reduced the size of their individual sushi to compensate. They also changed the ingredients they use in the entree items, where their seafood udon used to have very generous portions of scallops, large shrimp and calamari, they now seem to use a baby seafood blend, with baby shrimp and calamari and such. Which was disappointing. The manager came over and asked us how our meal was which was nice, and we assured him that the food was still good, we were simply disappointed in the change of ingredients. He insisted on giving us soup to take home free of charge which I enjoyed for lunch the next day.

Really good spicy sushi, a lot of places arent spicy, this place is. Sort of inventive rolls, we loved the Firecracker, No Name, and Godzilla because all the spice, different textures. Our favorite basic roll was Eel, because it falls apart in your mouth. Their menu was incredibly easy to read, b/c they specify ingredients inside and outside the roll. Good happy hour prices on Saki, a bit pricey if you dont use their coupons Though, we didnt care for their use of crunch in rolls, many rolls have Tempura Shrimp and it got old. Be sure to try their in house soy sauce, they make it with shitaki and daicon, wasnt a salt bomb like sit sauce usually is

Horrible service. Much better alternatives for sushi dinner in the area. Waited over 45 minutes for initial order. When told our order was lost, we were asked to submit a whole new order. Wait staff was inattentive during this time and offered no explanation for what happened. "Manager" offered 15% discount but proceeded to laugh when we left the restaurant. Disrespectful and rude staff members. We wont be back... spend your money elsewhere, dont waste your time here.

If I could give them a zero rating I would. I came here on lunch and waited 20 minutes before having to flag a server to order. After waiting another 20 minutes I had to flag down another server to get my food to go, he informed me that the order was never even put it. This couldve been avoided if someone wouldve checked on us once. Not to mention the tables were left uncleaned after guests left. I cant comment on the food though, and I wont be back yo try it out.
