What To Order: Pork Belly Tacos This was my first visit to Sanchos, so I took the recommendation of a friend and ordered the Pork Belly Tacos. You arrive directly facing the kitchen and order window. To the left there is a door, where you can find a full bar and indoor seating. After ordering you are given a number tent to put on your table. They had a $2.75 beer special, so I ordered a Tecate. Inside the bar & table area is a stage, where some local bands were playing. In addition to the indoor seating there is rooftop deck with several picnic tables that cover the entire roof area. We took the last remaining table to wait for our food. The view from the roof is actually pretty good, and is a good place to just hang out and enjoy some food and beer. It only took a few minutes for the food to arrive, but the tacos were overly small and lacked even an acceptable portion of meat. An order of 3 was $9 and came with no sides. These were 2-3 bite tacos at best. The onion, cilantro and salsas flavor overpowered the flavor of the pork belly. I was thinking to myself that each of these $3 tacos looked like tiny food from a childs easy bake oven. It would take at least 2-3 orders of these before I could consider them a meal. My friend who had eaten there before commented that the tacos were normally small, but these were abnormally small as far as the amount of meat and toppings on them. He actually contemplated going back to the kitchen to ask what was going on. The tacos had good flavor, the corn tortillas were really good, but the pure size of them were the major turn off. You can see in the picture the 1/4 slice of a lime is almost as big as all the contents of 1 taco. Overall it was the cost to portion size that ruined the entire experience. We left ( still hungry ), and went to a fast food restaurant to order more food. I would recommend the place as a good spot to hang out, grab a beer and maybe snacks, as I dont feel the entrees can be considered a meal at all. 3 Pork Belly Mini-Tacos & 1 Tecate beer special. $15.00

* Great atmosphere . * The rooftop patio has a clear view of the San Antonio Skyline. * The music is always great and some evenings there are live performers. * Parking can be a little challenging however there are two or three locations designated specifically for Santos patrons. * The staff is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. * The menu is unique and delicious. - I have had the burger which is more like a torta from a Mexican restaurant a couple of Micheladas the shrimp balls and ships with avocado dip. They offer a margarita mixed with avocado, its definitely different but worth tasting. As far as Im concerned this is one of San Antonios hidden gems.

Tacos were great but not street tacos...more eclectic tacos with shredded radishes or pickled onions and home made mini tortillas. Tacos are small but fun to trade around and taste then all...chips and salsa were also good...beer selection was good and matched the menu. Everything seemed home made.... Bands are all over which is a complement...we listened to an indie band then a Led Zeppelin cover band came on...and it was a Sunday night. Neighborhood looks a little sketchy at first but we never felt uneasy at all and the crowd was as eclectic as the tacos...bikers to hipsters and all ethnicities...

Nice watering hole within easy walking distance of SAC. The place has a rustic tin shed motif with a terrace on top and a small patio in the back. Comfortable bar and talkative bartender on our last visit. The place gets up and goes at night I am sure, but it has a more relaxed, low light coffee house feel during the day. Full bar (for the most part - they did not have any chartreuse to make the requested Last Word cocktail) and some beers on tap. You can either sit at the bar inside, at one a few tables or some loungey furniture.in a corner area. Fun stop for a quick drink on a hot day.

First time here and it has a lot of potential for me in my planned future returns. I love the rooftop spot, it wasnt too high up but it was nice and simple. They might easily forget about you though if youre up there during peak hours. They have happy hours and boy does parking get tricky. They have plenty of parking spots and two lots for the place...theyre just all filled up! What I loved the most is their pork belly nachos. Ive never thought of the combo, but I sure did enjoy the entree. Pork belly was juicy and fat and the nachos and cheese were oozy and good.

Awesome place to hang out with friends and hear local music in a relaxed atmosphere. They have great Mexican beers and even better street tacos. While i get the beef, i also enjoy my wifes veggie ones with marinated red onions, avocado, etc. Sure they are small, but surprisingly filling. They adjusted the smoking to downstairs on one side which is just what they needed! Need upstairs with ashtrays so people dont flick their cigarettes off the building and thats the only improvement but cant control idiot cigarette smokers, right?

Happened on this place by accident while visiting for business and this place is awesome!! Had to go back a couple times! Loved the super-fresh variety of tacos and killer drinks. Very reasonably priced for the quality too. Had some great bands playing and love the indoor/outdoor windows being open, giving the place a great vibe. Favorite joint in SA so far!!

A fantastic, no frills local bar with rooftop patio. Live music in evenings. Great happy hours with tequila specials. They only serve Mexican beers which in not a bad thing just something to be aware of. Friendly serve, but the place does get very busy in the evenings.

Good thing this advertised a cantina and not a restaurant. The food was overly spiced and subpar to the tastebuds. Watch out for the flat soda drill. The decor was filthy. Even the back of the chairs were sticky. The daylight here was the waitstaff.

Cool spot outside downtown San Antonio which serves great drinks and some tasty tacos (other Mexican foods). Inside, outside and rooftop seating. Full bar, great menu and live music. Good place to hangout for lunch or listen to live music at night.

Solid joint. Second happy hour from 9 to 11 is convenient. Live band can be heard from their rooftop patio. Didnt try the tacos but the Happy hour frozen margaritas sneak up on you. Be sure to have a designated driver or Lyft/Uber it.

Very cool spot to hang out and have a few drinks. Theyve got a spiral style staircase that allows access to the roof! The bar food, while a little bit on the expensive side, is actually pretty decent. The staff is very friendly.

The nachos are too die for!! The little red pickled onions are amazing! They serve Mexican beers only and the mixed drinks arent too bad either. The place always has a great atmosphere and sometimes can get really full.

Super-hip and fun cantina and taco joint. Great bartenders, the whole place has its own personality. Fantastic Friday night band from 7 to 9pm. Live music every night of the week. Happy hour specials, fun hang!
