This place is so nice! The food is delicious, I love how its set up where you order your food and they promptly bring it to you! We went on a Thursday night around 8pm, I was quite surprised how busy it was, but its a good sign that its obviously amazing! The service was extremely friendly from the person behind the counter, at the bar and the person delivering our food. The playground is nice because its in the middle of the restaurant per say and no kids will go wandering off into the street, they are always being supervised. The food is amazing! We raved on and on about the fries. Will definitely be making this place a treat for my family, its lovely! EDIT: I loved this place so much that I decided to have my sons first birthday there and we rented out the fireplace patio area which was really nice. All of my guests enjoyed the party and the restaurant itself. With that being said, I was sort of frustrated with the service I received because I did order off the catering menu but surprisingly all of the food I ordered did not come out at the time it was supposed to. Also, when organizing my party I was a bit frustrated because I had to speak with managers to organize (which is fine and understandable) but I would call numerous times a day to speak with one and they were either in meetings, no where to be found or they were too busy to talk - when I would leave my telephone number I would not receive a phone call back. Also, on top of the foods we ordered, there was a $35 service charge that was not mentioned to me at all, I had absolutely no clue there would be a service charge, that upset me because all of my food was late and no one was clearing plates/clearing foods. I probably would not have a party here again because of the confusion but Ill still be back because its such a yummy restaurant.

This place is crazy...restaurant, bar, live music, car wash, playground, dog wash, laundry mat....The neighborhood looks a little shady, but I felt completely safe. Parking can be tough though. Saw three cars getting towed while we walked to Sanchezs Crowd was from every walk of life...I dont care how you associate yourself, you will feel like the in crowd. Today was slammin...beer line was about 10 deep from 7-9...Food line was 30+ deep, but did move pretty fast. This was my second visit but first to include food. So beer first...56ish Texas beers on tap. While I dont need to say anything else, prices were not too bad with most around $5.25. You can get a flight of 4x 5oz of your choice for $8...better deal for price. Bartenders know whats up too...can help you narrow the field or they will let you try them. They also do growlers or pitchers, but they dont advertise them. The inside bar (loose term) had even more options from all over...happy hour prices are great. Food is REALLY fresh. I tried the lamb burger on a chabata roll that was really good, but a little on the thin side in comparison to the beef burgers. Cohorts had fish and shrimp tacos on blue corn tortillas, and a couple other burgers. Sweet potato fries were off the hook and the shiracha mayo was the way to go with them....dont skip on those fries, they were REALLY good. Sodas were a bit crazy too. Blueberry soda...WHAT? So the cashier suggested an even mix of blueberry, doppelganger (bit like dr pepper) and their cream soda....Im telling you, skip any other soda...just do it. New favorite.... Food prices are slightly higher then average but your paying for the fresher ingredients.

This is one of my favorite places in San Antonio. Its definitely casual, relaxed, informal, and local. Dont go if youre expecting fast food (i.e. get your meal within 5 minutes of your order). Good food takes time, and while the atmosphere is informal, it is a place with table service and wait staff. In fact, some of the appeal is the music, the people-watching, and the laid-back vibe while you wait for your order to arrive. The place gets busy at the usual times, and your order will take longer then. But my food has always arrived hot and fresh. There is a good beer selection for those who want beer, as well as monthly beer tastings and wine tastings. The food and soft-drinks are Texas-sourced, and some of the veggies are fresh from the Coves own garden. Its more expensive than fast food, but thats because its better than fast food. Its competitively priced with casual chain restaurants that offer table service and alcoholic drinks. The one drawback is parking; thats the case in most of Downtown San Antonio. Most of the available spots are in a designated lot on Jackson St., just around the corner off Cypress St. Again, when its busy you may have to find street parking. I would definitely recommend going when its not busy, as your order will arrive more quickly, and parking will be easier. You can check the graph here that shows when the busiest times are, and how busy it is currently compared to the average. And of course if you need to wash your car or your clothes, you can do that too (I recommend doing that before you eat/drink, not during). Saves you gas and time and helps the environment by reducing your carbon footprint. Win-win-win. ;-)

This is the worst review Ill ever have to write about a place you see with good reviews. Every...single...thing...about this place was terrible. The parking was horrendous, so good luck on trying to find a spot. The amount of people (due to the popularity of this being featured on the Food Network channel) made it worse. You have to wait in an incredibly long line to order. When we were finally able to, I had used the app which said I could get some free sweet potato fries since I used it. The cashier REQUIRED a high rating to the place before allowing us to have the free appetizer. It took 45 minutes to finally get those fries, which were soggy and saturated with what I believe to be water. Not to mention they were out of 4 of their esteemed "popular sodas" and no longer had ice. Already, this was a terrible experience. After it taking 45 minutes for the appetizer, it took another hour for the food. I ordered the lamb burger, friends ordered other burgers and sandwiches. My lamb burger has no seasoning on it at all. I waved down the manager, and this man with a dumbfounded look on his face asked me "Whatcha need?" I showed him that my burger had no seasoning, and that it was also under done. He claimed that they would never do that, so in order to prove him wrong I had to tear the burger in half to show him, and revealed a large radius of pink and near-blood color. He said it was due to it being so busy, but could not offer me a replacement meal. I have never been so upset. Not to take it out on the lacking wait staff, we simply put all of our empty glasses upside down and left.

Ive been coming here for years, and some of these complaints just arent fitting. Near a car wash and laundromat? It IS the carwash and laundromat. Anyway, yes, you seat yourself. Much of the seating is outside, the rest is in the bar area where they do feature local artists. Some are good, some are not, and yes they can be loud. The servers generally arent too active, but Ive never had trouble locating napkins, condiments, or silverware (with the possible exception of locating a steak knife). As for the food, ive covered the 09er burger, buffalo bleu burger, lamb burger, texas burger, all-american burger, shrimp tacos, fish tacos, hot brown panini - all have been fantastic. Honestly, I think the fish tacos are the least special of the lot, but its all pretty good. Sweet potato fries are a must as well - the sauce on the side is just great. People need to remember - this is a local joint with mostly local, organic produce from specific, posted suppliers. If their lamb producer has a bad season, lamb wont be on the menu. If the ranch they get their beef from has trouble, maybe the beef wont be as spot on sometimes. Ive never had a problem or disappointment in my 4 years of coming here though. Its the only place in town I really trust to safely serve a burger truly medium-rare. The only complaints I can really make are - 1) the will charge a little extra for to-go orders and 2) since i moved, its now too far away from me. Doesnt matter too much though, ill keep coming back.
