We had a great experience at this small vegan restaurant. Dont be fooled by the street view, this place is bigger than it looks inside and has a great outside seating area with tropical vegetation. Great selection of vegan items. I would recommend the buffalo cauliflower bites. The sweet potato poblano flautas were also great. The chile relleno, though battered and fried, had an almost raw poblano. Some might prefer the freshness of this style but it was not what I was expecting. The guacamole could use more salt and lime. Id advise skipping the weekend brunch buffet and ordering off the menu since the buffet line is not set up well for keeping food hot. We also thought he price was too high for what was included. They did not have the fresh fruit that the menu said was included. On the other hand, the vegan baked goods were great.

Very disappointing visit. The food was okay, but the restaurant no longer provides any service. One has to get silverware, fill ones own drink including refills and order at the counter. The prices do not reflect this change. To add insult to injury, they still ask for a tip when paying for the food prior to receiving it. Had I understood the complete lack of service when paying, I would not have added a tip. The employee was nice and most likely not responsible for the change in level of service. I have been a patron of the restaurant for several years, but since moving to the new location the level of service has steadily declined. Have really liked the food in the past, but when Im paying restaurant prices, I expect restaurant-level service.

My first visit to this lovely place with a laid back, old Austin/San Antonio feel. I asked the person attending the counter what people came for, and was given three of the favorite options. I chose the street tacos... and was blown away. Mushrooms lightly fried gave the tacos a hearty foundation, topped with a light drizzle of a tangy sauce and veggies. The salad boasted what tasted like home-grown tomatoes, and the Spanish rice and charro beans rounded out the meal. Because it was all gluten free and vegan, I didnt have to worry a bit about my food sensitivities, which is a luxury when Im traveling. I didnt feel the slightest twinge of sensitivity - delicious and absolutely trustworthy. I live out of town, but Ill be back!

After finding a parking spot on the street, I entered into a beautifully decorated, renovated shack-like restaurant with great outdoor seating. We sat inside with the Catholic-inspired art-work and candles. The case of cupcakes draws the eye, and they are the BEST cupcakes (vegan or not) I have ever eaten. I had the pina coconut and my coworker was obsessed with her peanut butter banana cupcake. The super human nachos were very filling as was the chile poblano. So glad to have found this fresh and funky vegan restaurant on Southside San Antonio. Even meat eaters will love the food served here!

I tried to order 3 different things off the menu and they kept saying were out of that. They obviously dont know how to stock or take inventory of what they need. Then I said ok just give us the smoothie we ordered and were leaving. I took one drink of the smoothie and had to spit it out it was so disgusting. I didnt know you could mess up a smoothie that bad. Last but not least the waitress was sooooo rude. I dont understand this place. Ill never go back thats for sure.

Vegeria, when it was up on Broadway, was absolutely amazing. everything was SOOO flavorful. unfortunately, since they closed that one down and opened this one the food is horrible. has no flavor, is cooked poorly, the rice is hard and sticks together, the cupcakes are SOOO dry... I was extremely disappointed in the food. the quality of this food is not worth the price. Vegeria used to be my favorite place to eat and for now I will not waste my money going there again.

Plates that consist mostly of kale should not cost over $10 apiece. Dinner for two including an appetizer and coffee was over $45 with tip and waitress forgot our drinks twice. The "dollar sign" reflecting cost should be $$ or $$$ not $. I understand that the cost of the meal reflects the establishment "giving back to local farms" and supporting the San Antonio vegan scene, which is good. But I feel that it should not be so expensive for such a mediocre quality of food.

I highly recommend this place! I am not a vegan or vegetarian and really enjoyed both the ambiance and more importantly, the food. I had the enchiladas verdes and they were excellent! The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable given everything is hand made and fresh to order. The decor here is very warm and inviting. The staff is very friendly. I will definitely be recommending Viva Vegeria to all my friends, family, and anyone who will listen.

Visiting from Birmingham, AL for my sons Air Force graduation. Found this restaurant on "Happy Cow". Absolutely delicious! Best vegan Mexican food I have ever had. Staff friendly and prices reasonable, especially with all the organic ingredients. Also, some of our party did not want vegan and the staff suggested they bring in take out from across the street so they could eat with us. Wish we had this place in Birmingham! Highly recommend!

Great food and neat atmosphere. Would love to give 5 stars since food is AMAZING. but lately something is always up with them. Often they are out of an item and dont tell you until after you order and your food comes to the table or they change something up about the service and dont tell you until youve been there for awhile. Anyways I think their communication with customers could be better. Like I said though, the food is AMAZING.

This place is awesome. Fresh fresh fresh! The food is real, the people are just as sweet as their cupcakes (death by chocolate... died and went to heaven). I enjoy the ever-changing local art on the walls and the awesome display of Mexican cuisine that not only sticks to its roots in product and flavor, but also infuses new, ethical trends such as veganism and locally sourced food. VIVA VEGERIA! Lets keep this place alive.

Pure heaven. I cant rave enough about everything on their menu. Amazing options for vegetarian and vegan as well as gluten free diets. The food is spectacularly amazing. They also offer cooking classes which are fun and very very well worth it. A bright shining star in the SA restaurant scene. ProTip: parking can be an adventure if they are packed. Just park on the side street next to the restaurant.

We went in with special needs (no onion and garlic). The server was outstanding as compared to normal food outlets in being able to handle the special needs with a smile. The chef was accommodating in fixing a special appetizer for us and nachos with chips and dip separate. The sides tasted amazing. The entrees tasted healthy. Got the cupcakes to go, so havent tried them yet, but they look amazing!

Im not from San Antonio, but when I would stop here everytime. They moved locations which is fine, but wow..... They changed the menu which is fine, but when you dont have half the things dont put it on the menu.... then I waited 1 hour to get my food I swear they had one cook or something, and there was hardly anyone there. Me and the gf leaving still hungry...... Last time I go......
